- DATE AND LOCATION OF COL. TOU PAO LY'S FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, September 2-5, 2017, at the Fresno Fairground. He will be buried in Rose Hill Cemetery in Santa Ana. The family of Col. Tou Pao Ly would like to thank everyone for the outpouring support they have received. They want to thank everyone in advance for those who are able to make it to the funeral.
AS MOST OF YOU KNOW, COL. TOU PAO LY HAS PASSED AWAY ON THURSDAY, AUGUST 10, 2017. COL. TOU PAO LY WILL BE MISSED BY MANY IN THE HMONG COMMUNITY FOR HIS ROLE IN THE "SECRET WAR" IN LAOS. HE WAS ONE OF THE 22 MEN WHO CREATED LONG CHENG, A MILITARY BASE IN LAOS, DURING THE WAR IN LAOS. THIS INTERVIEW WAS TAPED IN 2015.

Your perspectives warranted the truth regarding hmong past politics. Yet most hmong don't fully inderstand our past history. Most hmong regard the individual as hmong leaders but in fact these individuals were not hmong leaders. They were leaders for the national lao during the vietnam-american conflict but their genes were hmong gene and hmong bloodline. The word hmong leaders should represent leaders of a hmong nation but where was a hmong nation? Most hmong leaders of the world had not resulted by the sole hmong people but the national people of those countries such as laos, thailand, vietnam and china or the usa. Just beacause they carry hmong blood doesn't mean that they are hmong leaders.
