Such great news. You guys deserve the best.
Birmingham? Oh alabama
I seriously can’t stop listening to this song. I’ve streamed it so much on Spotify that I’ve probably made the band 70 cents.
underrated comment
hahahah yes
That's gay
@@InTrancedState yes i m gay
You spotify users creep the F out of me, its like you are paid to say this stuff, it looks like in the truman show when the wife is fighting with him and then looks somewhere and starts promoting a cocoa brand, you even make sure to put the S in uppercase, like my grandma telling me that "God" must be always written with uppercase G, it is either this or you acting like zombies begging for X song to be on spotify bcz for some reason that's the only way y'all can possibly enjoy X song
Edit: "b-but its because on youtube i cant turn the screen off" youtube music. "B-but youtube music is paid" ok first why are you not bothering to put the Y in uppercase like you do with spot- no, y'know what, forget it, download a third party app to access youtube and listen to it on background or with the screen off like newpipe. "B-but it its piracy and i'm a 1st world country btch" then pay for youtube musi- ok, newpipe is a 100% legal it is open source and it is adless, skytube too. "B-but i use an iphone" well go think in the corner.
Please someone put this clip on TV. It's the kind of music video that makes a 7 years old kid dream and wonder if what he saw earlier in his life was real until he fall again on it on internet randomly and get hit by a wave of nostalgia.
Its sad but that doesn't happen anymore, kids grow up on youtube, they are used to seeing weird shit
this is the magic that used to come with mtv and vh1 that just doesnt happen anymore and makes me endlessly sad
VH1 top 20 countdown 🥲
This is the new TV. You realize cable died a long time ago right.
@@alastorgray tv is dead anyway
Oh "ants from up there", I get it now
I get it now too.
This album is like a magnum opus, for Isaac to put so much passion and pain into his lyrics, only to leave the band after it releases, it feels like the ultimate catharsis.
Opus reference ⁉️⁉️⁉️
The metaphor of a failed relationship as a concorde jet is beautiful
so are black midi antagonists in the bcnrverse
i think 'ants from up there' is going to be a masterpiece.
I’m probably most excited for basketball shoes
@@JTeter499 yeah same. given how the studio versions of bread song and concorde even exeeded the live versions of the songs, the studio version of basketball shoes is definitely going to be epic.
it already is, I’ve never been this excited for a release in my whole life
@@anthonymarascalchi9436 yeah i have the exact same feeling. i think this album is shaping up to be a future classic, it's that good. i just written a text on the subreddit a few days in how this album reminds me of listening funeral for the first time knowing that this album will play an important part of my life on the years to come.
hearing the studio version of basketball shoes will be the most intense catharsis i've ever felt
The absolute pinnacle of british engineering
Reminds me of the early work of the Canadian band Arcade Fire.
I thought that was electioneering😉
@@lange495 yess
HumHum I think you are forgetting that the Concorde is a supersonic airliner designed jointly by Sud-Aviation (later to become Aérospatiale then Airbus) and British Aircraft Corporation (later to become British Aerospace), in service from 1976 to 2003 at British Airways and Air France…
@@lange495i believe that the band has said that Arcade Fire was their main inspiration for this album
Absolutely loved the black midi reference in the logo of the uniforms
Was about to comment this
its also funny if you have the cavalcade comic because it shows the band about to be executed by firing squad
black midi that is
Love how they’re all wearing a black midi patch on the suits
Such a shame about Isaac, I hope the band doesn't die from here. Music is incredible
I think we have to be proud of Issac for being brave enough to see this album through And also be able to be honest about stepping away. I would be devastated iif he ended up like Ian Curtis, who I wished got the help when he needed it.
Sure, he left the band and that’s sad, but it was the right decision; if he stayed in the band, his mental health would have deteriorate.
I'm pretty sure the band has mentioned working on new music, even without Isaac! So don't worry about no more BCNR :) well wishes for Isaac though, he deserves it
I hope it's sort of a happier Pink Floyd situation
@@danny-xm8xq That's great but he's such a big part of what makes this band special.
I don't know what they had in mind specifically when they wrote this song, but it made me cry the first time I heard it, as soon as I heard "And the doctor said, "We are unfortunately running out of options to treat" ", as my mom passed away from cancer a few months before listening. Bless you all.
❤️
"Concorde, I miss you"
10mth old comment but im someone who was put onto this album by a friend and I was in the same situations so I know what you mean. Might not be the original intention, but nails the exact feeling of how alien the words are when you first hear them. Hope you're healing and looking after yourself ❤
The first man I have ever truly been in love with died a few years ago. I can't believe it's been four years already, this summer. This song makes me bawl my eyes out
i love the line "what a funny way to speak" - i might misunderstand it, but i always interpret it as inability to accept the inavitable soulcrushing things to come.

I hadn’t really thought of it that way but I guess this guy is right…

Really excited for the new record
For real, the "I die free this time" just fucking kills me every time
You mean...For the First Time, you heard it?

I wonder if it's isaac under the Ant makeup
@@ravenkliff Too short I think
i cant describe how much this song means to me right now. my fiance broke up with me 4 weeks ago because i was too dependent on her for my happiness. i really relate to a lot of the lyrics on this album, the themes of codependency and dysfunction. beautiful songwriting
I have had a similar experience last month. I can feel you. If only i could i would give you a hug. Stay strong :)
Made me cry too, because it really sucked. 😢 Not even an alien with boobs can save this mess.
@@eatmoreporkporky4342 well 2 month are gone since I broke up, and all i can say is: try to be as rational as you can, try to be fully honest with yourself, possibly by speaking of this matter with friends who have more experience than you or have had similar experiences.
I don't know anything about you, but this will surely help. Also, the first month and a half is the worst period. Past that point, I think you start to feel a little bit more comfortable with yourself.
Final advice: don't fear being unhappy with yourself or in front of others: faking emotions will destroy you (as I have done that for years), don't be too shy or too proud to be just yourself. Your world will be different sooner or later, it's a matter of time. How much? It's up to you. Stay strong :))
@@handreieiacasa
Did you read my post? Lol. I didn't break up with anyone. The music hurt my poor ears, and it broke them 😞 Glad you're doing better though ha ha.
@@eatmoreporkporky4342 lmaooo i didn't get it pray 4 your ears
I didnt understand this album when it dropped at all. After breaking up with who I thought was the love of my life its since become my favorite album of all time. Absolutely devastating, 10/10.
I'm currently on that stage and discovered this album few months ago :') it's helping me too...
here after discovering that Isaac will no longer be a member of the band, fuck this song got me crying like a baby even harder
Lyrics:
Concorde, this organ
The new one I'm forming
It's grown so persistent on you
By the morning I'd fell to my feet
And the doctor said we are unfortunately
Running out of options to treat
What a funny way to speak
And you, like Concorde
I came, a gentle hill racer
I was breathless
Up on every mountain
Just to look for your light
Concorde, I miss you
Don't text me til winter
I can hardly afford
A second summer of Splinters
This staircase - it leads only to
Some old pictures of you
Through an a-thousand mile long tube
Hey, what's a city boy to do?
And you, like Concorde
I came, a gentle hill racer
I was breathless
Up on every mountain
Just to look for your light
But for less than a moment
We'd share the same sky
And then Isaac will suffer
Concorde will Fly
Concorde, we're old now
And you wield a lightsaber
And led by the dark to our place on the table
So don't tell me you're hungry
Cause darling I'm starving myself
And I heard you're on Atkins as well
I was made to love you
Can't you tell?
And you, like Concorde
I came, a light blue sleeper
And I laid dead or twitching
For most of the night
But I know that you'll be there
The Sandman inside
And I'll come to like a child
And Concorde and I
Die free this time
I immediately searched this on youtube after I saw it today on MTV JESUS CHRIST THIS IS ONE OF MY FAV SONG NOW!!!!

They did manage to squeeze some stock footage at the beginning and end, they pulled a sneaky on ya

This is the first song I've ever heard from this group, I love it! Definitely excited now for their next album!
You absolutely have to go listen to their album For The First Time. I cant even explain to you how damn good it is. If you liked this go give that album a listen immediately

Fully convinced that this band cannot make bad music.
So excited for the new album! Watch this band drop a 2nd Album Of The Year contender in a row
Ha! "Contender"
More like winner
Back Country, Past Imes
Difference is, it's not just a contender this time
Funny how it surpassed the "contender" expectations
it's really hard to listen to this song right now. I love it deeply and the lyrics hit differently after Isaac's departure. I can imagine why he didn't want any part of the video - take care man, hope everything is ok.

The vocal performance in this song is so beautiful and touching! I think it's time for me to listen to For the first time!
For the first time is fantastic. Highly recommend it.
Thats definitely an ant from up there
The ending with the spliced up footage is absolutely amazing.
Thanks for the random recommendation, CZcams. Never heard of them but I immediately love this band.
Definitely check out their first album "for the first time". Different but in such a good way.
@@snh444 For sure, thanks!
@@HAZARDOUS88 Just happy to share the love of this band dude! Definitely share your thoughts after your initial listen.
That ending makes my eyes well up with emotion. What a fantastic song. And this video really enhances it.
It’s rare for a song to give me chills every single time I hear it, there’s something very special with this song
Every new song sounds like a different band while still sounding like BCNR. I'm hearing echoes of Pavement and, unexpectedly but delightfully, Jonathan Richman. They've pretty much ticked all the numbers on my 'favourite underground bands of the last fifty years' bingo card while still sounding fresh and exciting.
The JR reference is good. Hadn’t thought about it but yes. The first Modern Lovers album is still a masterpiece. I bought it aged 16 when released in 1976 and it completely changed my direction on music. Incredible that they actually recorded it in 1972! With BCNR I was hearing a bit of Slint but you’re right there’s a lot of varied underground influences.Love the album this sounds great too.
To the point. But don't you guys find that the verse melody's strikingly similar to Cohen's 'Blue Raincoat'?
@@romankalenov9007 I didn’t make the connection but you’re spot on. Definite similarities between the two songs. Shows the diversity of the influences on BCNR. Now I’ve had a good listen to the new album it’s brilliant. Development over the first in all areas and an awesome back end to it.
Also Jon Brion, super super strong Jon Brion sounds.
This isn’t anything I’d normally see, I searched about the jet Concorde and something about the seat leather face just crazily popped up, absolutely goes to show you can’t judge a book by it’s cover, I’m so out of the loop, this is an amazing piece of artwork 🖼️ and sound genius.
Take care of yourself Isaac
thank you for your music, Isaac
The best part of this video is seeing my friend in it. She's one of the green jump suit characters!
This video reminds me sooo much of the tonight, tonight music video. Two independent stories (song and video), one fantastical and triumphant, one pleading and cathartic. They combine and make me cry. Again. This is amazing.
These guys are just the best. This is some of the greatest music I’ve ever heard. Blown away by every release.
I want a black midi boiler suit
Same
Picture that and a bm ushanka
I’d be the boss of everything
Just listening to the album for the first time and really enjoying it. For me this song is like King Krule meets Arcade Fire and Neutral Milk Hotel.
Beautifully abstract. This song is perfection and I have very high hopes for this album
Getting some heavy Spiritualized vibes with those saxes on the climax. Fantastic
oh fuck yeah
I am literally listening to Spiritualized "Ladies and Gentlemen we are Floating in Space" right now. Synchronicity is real
@@NAETEMUSIC WTF I was already familiar with BCNR before - but never heard Spiritualized - until CZcams recommended me that song the other day. How does this magic algorithm work?
This song is ridiculously emotional. It gets me so messed up every time I hear it that I get I a little afraid of putting it. What a masterpiece
Great work again from Black Country comma New Road. Thanks.
Even the video has that mid 00s Arcade Fire feel….they are leaning hard into this heart on sleeve anthemic indie aesthetic and I’m totally here for it
I was going to say this reminds me soooo much of Funeral!
ANT-hemic
Wow! I need to thank CZcams for another killer recommendation. Everything about this was perfect. Can’t wait to dig into this band.
They’re incredible!

@@abartel6 Absolutely! I ordered the new LP a few days after my comment. There have been a ton of amazing albums released this year but Ants From Up There is definitely in my top 10.

It sucks that I can't share this kind of music with my friends... they usually don't care about this kind of stuff.

The ending of the songs and solo part are something else. I'm so glad to find this beautiful song.
black country new road dropping this masterpiece just in time for the oscars
The Concorde may very well be the absolute pinnacle of French-British Engineering
And then Isaac will suffer
Concorde will Fly
I don’t think I speak with any exaggeration whatsoever when I say minute 5 through the rest of the song is the greatest piece of music I will ever hear. Thank you Isaac
black midi has now truly become business in this music video
This is literally the best song of the decade already
So far, at least
I can't put into words how much this song has meant to me over the last year or two, from the death of my mother to a long term relationship ending I grew and changed through this song on more than one occasion. I am genuinely so thankful it exists.
This music video is a fever dream realised in HD.
amazing. black country, new road is amazing.
Stunning album. Something the world needed.
This song is my firm favourite of Black Country, New Road 👍 What I noticed the most is the lyric “Then Issac will suffer, Concorde will rise”. It’s like Issac knew he was going to leave the band and wanted to make one last gem of a song before he went. He will be missed. I hope the rest of them continue to make amazing music like this 😊🎵
