I'm going to give my two cent opinion on what I think this song is about: To be perfectly honest, I don't think it's bullying. It's more of a mentality of it, like, I feel that it's more of self-pity. Like, yes, that girl is definitely being bullied but at the same time, I feel like she is letting it go on purpose. She likes/enjoy/at the very least know how to use it against others. That's why it sang "It can't be helped" and "That's what makes her adorably pitiful." Like, she know it's a sad thing, she know it's something that can't be helped so she turned it onto others, she isn't letting other people take this(sadness) away from her. She wants to spread negativity upon others. Passing people. Not specifically becoming a bully herself but more of by making herself the victim, those who seems bad is never herself, she is enjoying the role of being a 'victim'. Really weird coincidence, but after I found this song, I listened to it on repeat for several hours... and then proceeded to have one of shittiest days in a while. Guess she really does sell misfortune.
It seems to me like the singer is actually the girl, and wants people to pity her so then they're tricked into buying her misfortune out of pity. She even tries to say that misfortune "is like a gift"
after thinking it over and multiple years of listening to this i think im finally starting to find meaning in this song, or at least a personal interpretation of what it could be about. it makes me think of how strangers/the general public tend to treat children who are either going through or went through traumatic experiences, especially if they're super publicized via the news, tv programs, etc. the more attention a tragic or grotesque story about a real event gets (especially on the internet) the more people start to treat it like fiction, which i can only imagine makes it 10x harder to recover for the actual people/person who went through it. like if someone survives a horrible accident that gets turned into a popular news story it'd probably change the way people treat them irl. there'd be a lot of pity and morbid fascination that just follows them around and i can't fathom that being helpful for their sense of identity ESPECIALLY if they're a kid.

This song is painful for me. I understand and relate to it very well. I don't know what kikuo thought of when making the lyrics, but this just brings me back to my trauma filled days of being bullied and harassed as a kid for 4 years.

I'm going to give my two cent opinion on what I think this song is about:
To be perfectly honest, I don't think it's bullying. It's more of a mentality of it, like, I feel that it's more of self-pity. Like, yes, that girl is definitely being bullied but at the same time, I feel like she is letting it go on purpose. She likes/enjoy/at the very least know how to use it against others. That's why it sang "It can't be helped" and "That's what makes her adorably pitiful." Like, she know it's a sad thing, she know it's something that can't be helped so she turned it onto others, she isn't letting other people take this(sadness) away from her. She wants to spread negativity upon others. Passing people. Not specifically becoming a bully herself but more of by making herself the victim, those who seems bad is never herself, she is enjoying the role of being a 'victim'.
Well, this is just a speculation and how I feel...Take it with a grain of salt, thanks for reading ^^

after thinking it over and multiple years of listening to this i think im finally starting to find meaning in this song, or at least a personal interpretation of what it could be about.
it makes me think of how strangers/the general public tend to treat children who are either going through or went through traumatic experiences, especially if they're super publicized via the news, tv programs, etc. the more attention a tragic or grotesque story about a real event gets (especially on the internet) the more people start to treat it like fiction, which i can only imagine makes it 10x harder to recover for the actual people/person who went through it.
like if someone survives a horrible accident that gets turned into a popular news story it'd probably change the way people treat them irl. there'd be a lot of pity and morbid fascination that just follows them around and i can't fathom that being helpful for their sense of identity ESPECIALLY if they're a kid.

I know the song is most likely about a girl who purposely doesn’t stand up for herself when being bullied so she can hurt others for it in the future, but I also feel like the beginning part of the song is in the point of view of people who try to “stand up” for her but don’t choose to actually help her because the bullying “can’t be helped” but that’s just my theory and I think I could have gotten a couple things wrong but hey it’s kinda just a feeling
