So close! I wasn't expecting this going in, but I would give the edge to the Sideshow version. I like the skin tone, texturing on the body and the overall paint and sculpt better on Sideshow's. The teeth are clearly better on the XM version (at least on the first head sculpt you showed) and I also like the base better and the color they chose for the body on the XM version. Suoer close overall though. Both are excellent!
Sideshow. And a Wolverine companion piece is coming out soon.

It's hard to pick one seeing these two side by side. If I had to choose, I'd personally go with XM's because Sabretooth looks just like he does in the X-Men animated series and comics.

Dude!!...Cyclops comparison criticisms got you running shook! Stand up and call it! Your opinion is your opinion and it can't be wrong! Fuck anyone that says differently! This was a fantastic showcase by the way and thanks to it I now think xm sabretooth is even further away from Sideshows!! If you told me I'd prefer Sideshows portraits over xms I'd call you a sold out stanley but the side by side makes it beyond reproach! That paint up is shocking and its underscaled based on what I just seen! Not even a fight in the sculpts either! Canales kills this bloated detail less body of xms! The only xm wins are the extras and edition size for me! Appreciate the vid brother!

From far away the XM studio one looks good, but when you get close to the actual statue. I prefer the sideshow one much more. So much detail.
This is the closest comparison I've seen. At first glance say I was buying off the website I probably would have chosen the XM but after this review and comparison sideshow nailed it. Great video Gem great content.
Never been a big Sabertooth fan, but the XM piece looks pretty impressive. Great video, keep em coming Gem.

Tbh, I like Both because they have very good dynamic pose and they both capture Sabretooth's overall Animalistic and Ferocious personality
They both look really good, if I had to pick one, I would buy Sideshows Sabretooth and save the extra money for something else.

The XM gave me more of our 90's childhood Sabertooth vibe. Especially basing it off 90's trading cards and X-Men animated series. The color is closer to me versus the Sideshow

I rarely disagree with your assessments of the statues during your comparisons and reviews...and this isn’t one either lol! Hit the nail on the head with this one!
I have the same feelings about them and would agree the bases are a big part of making or breaking the statue, but they are both pretty amazing. A little more artistic license on Sideshows end vs the comic/animated style on XM. But man, Gem, you go in-depth and even on the littlest details and that why I love your content when it comes to statues. (Course you’re no slouch in the comic department either, sir) I sincerely appreciate and your opinions, great job on this one! 💎 Almost at 97.5k and onto 💯 in no time!

You nailed it. Sideshow went for realism whereas XM went for cartoon/comic. I love the pose on XM and the lifted back leg but overall I prefer Sideshow.

It seems like the Juggernaut (maquette) broke the into the danger room and Sabretooth is storming in jumping around on platforms and pouncing. That’s how I’m going to display them anyway lol. It seems to go with the other X-men pieces that use the Danger Room base. Going XM on this one. Should arrive Tuesday! Great videos Gem. Giving you props from San Antonio Tx!

Agreed, up close you can tell the difference. I have the SS piece and was doubting whether i should of went with the XM version but now I see them side by side, I made the right decision. SS looks more realistic and paint job is awesome. Thanks for the video
SS Sabertooth takes the cake for me. The paint really jumps out to me, the shading on the muscles were amazing
I wasn't a fan of the SS version when revealed, but as time went on it grew on me. I'm glad I preordered and got the EX version. The XM does look good, but I'm glad I chose the SS. It just looks more feral/imposing to me. Enjoyed the video 👍👍

In regard to the coloring I feel they are accurate in regard to the base, for XM he is inside (hence the danger room base) so his colors would be brighter with inside lighting and I agree is more Comic book-like, and for Sideshow he’s outside (shown with the snow) so his colors would be muted because he’s more wild and dirty from the terrain he’s roaming in, overall both statues are gorgeous, great video
Just an update as I was looking at eBay prices earlier. The last SS Sabretooth EX sold for $1500 while the XM is about half that. The SS version turned into a MONSTER. Love both though.
