I never thought about reselling postcards. Now I am going to have to give it a try
Let me know if you try and how it goes!
Enjoyed your insights Julie. I so far have only sourced from flea markets, antique shops and malls and my local stamp club. I did have a little luck buying some postcards at a book sale. Postcards are where you find them so my only tip would be if there are other types of hobby shows around explore and ask the dealers if they have any. Hope you have a good day.
Thanks, and yes, find them where you can! I haven't ever seen them at a book sale. I don't know of any hobby shows around, but I will keep my eyes out! We need to develop Postcard Radar.
Julie, That's what I call great content. I appreciate the valuable information. I will be on the lookout for Albums now. Thanks so much, Andy
You are so welcome!
I have been collecting my whole life but since I retired, I have become pickier and really research what I buy and collect. I have thousands of postcards but only about 25 different subjects that I keep. I am going to start selling postcards myself so I have built up my inventory by doing the following. I don't buy postcard lots from dealers who sell individual postcards. I only buy from those who just sell lots. I also buy lots or single cards on Live Auctioneers in addition to eBay. After I buy my first lot from a dealer, I check the cards I out. If they looked like they have been picked, I don't buy from them anymore. I also have a knack for searching out rare postcards on the internet for pennies on the dollar. That little secret I'll keep to myself but promise to share it in a few years!!!
Thanks for all of the great tips and videos!!!
Thank you for publishing the great video. It is focused and very informative.
You're very welcome!
I really enjoyed your video. Found the part about what you look for in card lots very interesting, very helpful. Thanks! Happy Easter to those of you who celebrate the holiday!
You're welcome! And Happy Easter to you too, He is Risen!
Kudos for not calling the depot a station!
Great minds think alike. I share the same process on finding new collections or lots to buy. I used to be able to get cards for 5-10 cents each but I’ve found that I’m having to pay 25 cents each now.
Yeah, there does seem to be more people buying postcard lots. Still, $ .25 isn't too bad yet.
cool julie noman
Great content! Thank you for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Another great and informative video
Thank you, hope it helped you.
Hi Julie - thank you so much for doing this. I found your information invaluable. One thing to mention - that Studebaker "journey" album - with van life and the nomadic movement being the rage right now, especially on CZcams, seeing that image/pic at 8:43 really struck me. Van life isn't new - it used to be a way of life for many people back when this country was still being freshly-explored and populated. Either way, if I were a van-lifer with a channel, I'd definitely use that shot of the guy sitting in the truck as my thumbnail. I guess I'm starting to see the magic of collecting (as opposed to just reslling).
There really is nothing new under the sun! Nomadic movements have been around since Cain. I still haven't listed that album, it's hard to know how to price it. My collecting has actually lessened since reselling. I hold it all lightly, knowing I can always sell them later.
@@julienorman Well that's understandable! I guess it serves to know that even if you don't particularly see value in something for yourself, there's 8 billion people out there so the chances are that someone will, somewhere. Thanks again for the know-how and the inspiration.
Excellent video. I resell CDs and am looking for another revenue stream.
If you like paper and history and research, you'll like postcards!
@@julienorman Actually I love history and researching. I will have a look at your other vids when I get a chance. They are very informative.
I have Mohr old post card seal this
Postcards always look more valuable in an album...When they are in an old shoe box they sell cheaper lol
That's so true!
❤❤

Welcome! I have many videos that may help you and feel free to ask questions. I'm not a pro, just finding my way too.
