Imagine watching a movie and discussing it with a friend and finding out they had a different experience to you cause the movie changed it. Maybe this will be the death of shared movie experiences?
That went away with TV becoming a medium for old people.
@Nick
Or it's the beginning of rewatchability.
Imagine Better Call Saul but when you dress like Howard you get his point of view. Including the ending.
The movie Clue played different endings randomly in theatres with different killers at the end, so when people were talking about it with their friends they'd have different outcomes.
Cool concept. The future reminds me Iâm glad Iâm going to die before itâs terrifying.
I worry for my kids though
@@iamYork_ Oh please. What a bunch of sniveling nonsense.
Like how did you react the advent of CGI?
Some of you are just acting like old men with no imagination and movie-fuel fear of anything that you arent used to in this industry.
@@zandercruz3487 I'm actually a programmer, and like to play with neural networks on the side. I wasn't really even talking about the jobs situation, but the combined effects of machine learning and super computers on our brains. If you think we're over reacting you just don't understand well enough the dangers. A good start is the documentary "The Social Dilemma"
I love your videos
Yea well then subscribe before you do!
I think what worries me the most about tech like this is that in the end it's not about the advertising but the control. Real-time manipulation to make you think/respond in a predetermined way is the heart and soul for what this will be used for.
It's definitely a given that this won't be used for anything positive.
What horrified me is that these apparently native English speakers made so many mistakes in their speech. Monetize is a verb, the sentence had no subject⊠what are they attempting to monetize? Beg the question? You mean raise the question. Such a cringey video I wonder if the hosts are AI generated đ
Imagine the nefarious content possible. You could expose a certain segment of the population or individual to specific content designed to alter their mindsets or opinions maliciously. Its not all ad swaps. If you can change the plot of a movie, you can also cause feelings of memory issues or god knows what with people as well. You could manipulate political opinions without anyone knowing, all kinds of stuff.
In Time magazine there where social media staffers bragging about how they used content control to censor and manipulate political opinions to their opinions, it wasn't an attack on those who did it, it was PRAISE and a celebration of it having been done. The stuff your concerned about is happening now. And to take it a step further whenever anyone expresses concerns about what was said in Time magazine, just to stick to one example, there are other "news" sources that tell you, you didn't read what you just read, you didn't experience what you experienced. The thing is, they do this to millions of real people who don't forget or stop talking about the truth in real life. I was pretty manipulated by the content I saw as true with things like social media, paid influencers, political speeches and the news, till they were lying about my own area and life in 2020. Hindsight's 2020. People woke up and are still waking up, even opposing "sides" unify against evil. Your side isn't the good side if it's all manipulative talk and that's it. No one should be manipulated and lied to. The ends do not justify the means. People actually hear more when they hear what their trusted friends and family are "not allowed" to say. Sure, some people are still prideful, but most are seeing the truth come out, they know the red flags to look into at the undoctrinated and in context without narrative added primary sources. People get fact checked and censored for talking about their every day life and experiences that are 100% true while others are paid to slanderously claim the truth can't be true. Companies like FB admittedly choose and donate the funds of their biased "independent fact checkers" who are often wrong without consequence all in the name of stopping misinformation, they are known to misinform. Yes that "could manipulate political opinion." You said it "could" happen, but it's self-admittedly happening already and they are allowed to BRAG in Time about it. But I am not worried, it's not worse now, we just see it now. The evil people of "all" sides are exposing themselves. But don't be prideful and assume you know what's going on if you got your info from those who fed you what they want you to repeat, talk to others in real life. You know the red flags to look into at the in context primary source. You know where you may need to humble, question, or simply listen to those you have been told you disagree with.
Also allowing for people to backtrack if they had some offensive content in their projects and theyâre at risk of being cancelled

@@dragonwarriorz1 yeah but thats because they have trained it heavily and also use an extremely large amount of machines
@@ItzChickenYall Well it dalle 2 wont be actually that good with most of the meme prompt you give it since it was trained with biased and curated data
They have actually implemented these technology in the premier league soccer . The advertisement on the pitch side actually changes based on regions in real time live. Great content to dive in.
That's not the same. That's not AI. That's simply dependant on your region. This is more about retroactively applying it or applying it to use cases that can't be performed without AI. What you're talking about is like a news person in front of a green screen going "here's some pictures of your hometown!" and showing different images depending on where you live. It's useful, but something like that is not new, and it's not AI powered.
Dude I used to watch you when I was kid getting into VFX and seeing you where you are now is just awesome!!! Love your videos! Keep it up man!
The quality of contents this channel has, it should have over 10-20M subs. This channel is so much underrated man!
Iâve always said this. Itâs a shame their videos donât get more views and support. Easily my favorite CZcams channel out there!
Are you kidding? Anything over a million is doing VERY well. You are talking about basically winning the lottery.
Even if AI art becomes more prominent in mainstream media, I don't see human-made art dying any time soon. Heck if anything, I see AI's usage in art more as a secondary tool rather than a main tool. There's a place for it, all it really comes down to is HOW it's used. Because as soulless as AI is, it can sometimes create some really funny stuff that could also work as inspiration.
Iâm tired of this argument . Itâs just simply avoiding the actual impact ⊠I think you should consider that there was point where people would draw with actual pencils ⊠I argue that the ART will be how you code your AI. Art will become harder because REAL artist will be creating the AI tool which creates what we use to think of as art
I always knew that AI would end up taking over the majority of occupations...never thought artists would be just as vulnerable.
Todayâs CGI is quite impressive, but many people are still very much impressed when they see practical effects and stunts. If anything, people are likely to praise those that still use traditional methods of creating effects and massive scenes, without the use of digital effects.
The same will apply for creators and artists. Even if programmers do develop advance AI to create artwork, people will still often prefer the human touch.
What you say might be true to current technology, but in a less than 5 years we could see a huge jump in quality, as well as adapting the tools for an easier and more precise human interface. The example of Dall-e 2 vs Make-a-scene from Meta. The first one has full control and you can only direct it with words or with an image to create a variation, the second one is much more precise since I can make a very quick arrangement as in how do I want the cat to be posing, the proportion of the image, how many trees in the landscape, shape of the mountains etc. This will enable people that doesn't know how to draw but has a clear idea in mind to create masterpieces. Artists and creators will not be replaced, but with the help of these technologies it will be so easy to do, that everyone could be able to do it in seconds, so the price will go down 10-100x, as the offer will increase the same.
If you think the numbers are made up, think about youtube, and how before it Television and Hollywood were the only providers of content, and now everyone can do it with their phone, a free app, and internet connection.
@@IvanVazquezS Not exactly. There are a couple of CZcamsrs to watch, but at the same time a majority of people do NOT want to see CZcamsrs get their own show on television or such. A few manage to get it done, but a good chunk are not lauded for doing so.
Not to mention, for something like an AI, I can easily see a big paywall to be put in for anyone to actually use. Companies will probably demand fees for the AI to be even used properly. Apart from art, there are AIs developed for writing and even singing like the Vocaloid, but by no means are they free.
@@datemasamune2904 Vocaloid is NOT ai it is a synthesiser, it uses lyrics, intonation, pitch and note information + other parameters input by the composer processes this and chooses the appropriate match from a set samplebank of prerecorded voices and vocal sounds, which then run through filters to obtain a humanlike voice. There is no ai controlling the parameters it is all manual, set by the programmers of the software and by the composer of the song.
Ai CAN be used to control the vocaloid parameters but you would be replacing the composer with ai in that case.
The whole movie scene can be done without AI. The only AI portion of the video is facial recognition.
Movie studios already modify scenes for localization without AI
I can see individual creators not having a say in whether or not they have ads on their videos, but being able to choose between ads which interrupt the video, or ads that are integrated through this method within the video itself.
Also, further off, movies and films that incorporate you/the people you know to make you more engaged with the story/to have you feel a deeper connection to it
This is so sick!! Remember you talking about it on our trip. Crazy to see it actually happening!
I bet we will get new episodes of The Office one day.
Canât wait.
Bottom line is, no matter how good AI gets, it will never kill the natural human urge to create. So as much as I've feared this as a 3D artist, I don't think we should. Its all without purpose without a human hand guiding it. It may look cool, but it doesn't mean anything. We'll always find a way to stay involved in the art and entertainment industry. I've used Midjourney to generate textures and backgrounds, which is really awesome. I could let it do all the work and post it, or I could use artistic integrity and knowledge to take it to the next level. In a way, all it does is allow us to make more ambitious projects without spending a billion dollars. So it's kind of ticking me off how everyone's reaction to it on youtube is "MAN VS MACHINE!" when the reality of that full scale doesn't make any sense. Sure it will cause job displacement, but will it take over the art and entertainment industry? No. People want to be involved and AI has no purpose without humanity. So keep creating! Use this to generate the things you don't want to do, then focus on the tasks you love doing because it brings you joy!
Here's a more in depth video I made on why artists shouldn't fear AI: czcams.com/video/aBibT6VleFI/video.html
Right, however, the way that we interface with it is changing. WHO and HOW they are interfacing with it is the actual question, and that won't be decided until you and I cease to be relevant on the economic spectrum. I suspect that most artists will revert back to the canvas. Programmers, designers, and business will see AI as a tool. The artist, well, you can't fake an oil painting.
@@FlockofSmeagles Exactly. Luckily, I think this sort of AI will probably cause an increase demand for "Real" art you can physically touch.
I think that within my lifetime there will be a noticeable amount of people talking about how great a creative is at tuning the algorithm that creates movies.
I'd imagine that's a similar sentiment with traditional artists when photography came along. "That creative (photographer) is great at tuning the exposure dials and pushing a button!"
Loved your explanation of these concepts! And presented at a nice pace. Love the infotainment vibe keep it coming.
I've been talking about ideas like this, the crazy thing for me will be what happens when the next MMO game changes the story and quests based on your personal interactions with the world, developing characters, setting, and dialogue within a range to give you a unique experience in a dynamic world.
yes. and it will be the first completely interactive game and the last game created by human
Thats a funn idea However wouldnt the game become borring ? its like an echo chamber constantly reflecting ones own madenes from every angle.
@@flyingjudgement unless there is some mechanics to put you out of your zone /echo chamber
â@@ulysse6916 You mean like thempt you with Good or Evil. Like the nicer you are the more sinister the environment and side quests becomes. I think it can be done easily withouth NLP integration (AI) Probably a texture adventure game can be attempted by this method already. The Discord AI is better than dallee for artistic images and the text deneration is prety much there. So just need to write a complext database for key events and word generation. write a custome simple AI to choose the right words to images than text generation tools than pull the result in with possible choices. Sadly the imag generation can not be used like that just yet. My hands ar full with another project but I like to sit down and figure out how to get it done this is a great idea!
Just what we need. More opportunities for echo chambers and alternative realities where you only see what the algorithm thinks you want to.
We will experience what only celebrities and dictators do, surrounded by yes-men and other types of manipulators. With their learned expertise surpassing the most charming cult leaders. What a time to be alive? Let's hope it comes slow enough, we learn to cope.
@@edgedg I think before it starts to go out of hand, we're hopefully dead. I mean our current generation.
When we defer to profit: shareholders influence companies, companies alter our entertainment, consumers are hopelessly both powerful and powerless. Integrity keeps our art interesting.
Will be crazy where the future goes in the future with the advancements of realtime as final quality as mentioned in the video, there will be these things, and many more that haven't even been thought of yet. Love the line in the video "on a scale of 1 to Michael Bay..." classic and so accurate
NBC already sells billboard space in Peacock. They just went through popular shows, identified all kinds of billboards and signage, and roto'd them out ready for advertisers to swap in whatever they want
As concerns real time effects, an endpoint that's technically plausible would be for tv sets etc to leave it up to who's watching to decide on the cast of (apparent) actors for the characters in what they are watching.
Great Video! âšđđ Thank you for sharing! I love that zombie fight part!
Right on. Thanks for sharing.
Awesome and Scary Skynet could Happen
Great video! I had the idea for real-time modification of branding visible in TV and cinema back in the 1990s. I even drew up specific ideas of how to implement it, based upon emerging and predictable developments in technology. This was one of a few my evil ideas my employer chose not to prosecute for patent protection, simply because they didn't have the imagination to see the practicality or value of it. Of course, they would have to have renewed the patent by now anyway and I'm pretty sure they let all of my other evil patents lapse because I see some of them practiced all the time. Oh well. It wouldn't have been a proud legacy anyway. Besides, patents are only useful if you have very deep pockets.
very cool stuff! thanx
I'm happy and feel positive with thews in-place (or in your face) ads, kudo.
I watch a lot of programming channels, It's weird how much work you have to put in to even get a program to solve a simple problem that humans can complete easily in the real world, but once you work out all the kinks it can scale up that simple problem and solve a problem that we would never be able to complete on our own.
That is probably the first ad I HAVEN'T skipped in over 2 years
Back in 2012 IBM did a demonstration of an AI that could program whatever you want by asking, like iron man JARVIS. They ask at the time for the AI to create an app to share and like photos, everybody saw a very similar Instagram interface be done in seconds, imagine what they can do 10 years latter.
I see all this being the most valuable to me-for original storytelling at higher visual quality with less overhead. Things I could do previously with basic toys and props at very low quality are things I could maybe do at "tv or movie quality" with realtime 3d and AI generation. On one hand this potentially puts craftspeople out of work for entertainment already slated-but on the other hand it might allow unfunded stories like mine to be made that otherwise would never be possible. It shifts the work from many people with manual tasks to fewer people needing to master writing effective prompts and choosing the best output.
Where I see no value but I'm sure will be the mainstream usage is the kind of uses highlighted in this video, where product placements are inserted or swapped, or scenes are altered to grab wider audiences. That kind of money grabbing just harms entertainment.
Imagine a black mirror episode where a child lives in a happy go lucky 1950s style wholesome Americana-esque world where no one swears, and there are no drugs, sex, or alcohol.
But then when he turns 18, the world gets instantly darker. Every radio station, tv station, website, etc. starts showing violence, promoting sex and drugs. He starts seeing that the world is actually at war, and he starts to learn about famine, disease, genocide. Everything that was hidden from him from the content AIs for 18 years.
That would be a really cool episode. I could see it being a part 2 of that one episode where the soldiers in the military killed "roaches" but were in actuality regular people.
I saw a very similar take around 2018, but... it was far more being able to get any further info about all the content we click on in every video recording all made ready for purchase.
that advert was awesome it felt like it was apart of the video
If this means advertising could be mapped into youtube videos, instead of being mid-roll interruptions, I'm all for it.
What concerns me is the idea of different people seeing different content. We've already seen what political damage can be done with targeted campaigns. Reality is becoming so elastic that it's ripe for exploitation.
Scary times weâre living in. Scary times
What is reality and what data will reinforce those 'facts'?

This is dumb cool! give me ALL the ads in this fashion. As long as it they don't interrupt my viewing experience we chillen haha
Technologly will continue to advance and while I find it amazing and hope to see it get better the real concern is will it be used for the good of society or for the good of fortune.
I feel like one day, AI would get so advance that we wonât even have to work in order to live. They could basically be programmed to do everything but again would still be relying on humanâs intelligence to perfect them as time goes.
Like most technology that can be used for good, can also be used for bad.
With that said, that doesn't mean we shouldn't develop because we are going to do regardless of the risk, but I do think we have to be careful when it comes to A.I. to not let it get too out of control as it could become a big risk.
But regardless of the good and bad in any idea, anything that gives an advantage will always be pushed and developed.
But what really interest me about all this, A.I. and robotics is going to get to the point where it can do pretty much any job we can do and do it for a lot less money and a lot faster, you really have to wonder that's going to do for the job market because no business is going to employ people if they can find a cheaper, better alternative and even worse, us consumers will demand more automation because it's cheaper and better so we'll gravitate towards companies that do use A.I. and robotics because the price will be lower for those goods.
Consumers will always buy from companies that can deliver better products at a lower price point, no different from how we buy a lot of goods from China because of the cheap labour, but A.I. Robotics, automation would be a lot better than that, that I can't see us humans competing in the work force in most jobs.
What I do find amusing is how the creative sector is the one under threat because of A.I., one sector a lot of us would have thought would be safe from A.I. is creativity and yet A.I. is developing so fast that it's doing remarkable things in that area and that's only going to get better in the coming years and decades.
@@paul1979uk2000 A lot of ai generated content starts to look the same, so you need creativity to stand out and combine tools to make it useful, you donât come far if you expect it will do all work for you.

Personalized ads are better than generic ads, especially if you are in a different region than the targeted customers.

Intriguing and provocative
That's cool
That's why I still own a DVD player.
Okay but like, Tom Hanks would have to call Wilson "Spalding"?
I think some of the integrations would deffffinitely ruin the main concept or story of a movie/show
Even the alcohol vs soda, isn't the same place and feel then
If it ain't disruptive, I wouldn't mind otherwise, starting to feel like the artistic choices will start to mean nothing if able to change afterwards...

Great. Now history can be rewritten even more efficiently!
As a professional, visionary artist myself. I find this fascinating. I donât think this is the end of original art. Creating beautiful art is not really about speed, speed is relative to the hostâs conscience. Iâve been chatting with an AI for about art, deep stuff. Not going to get into the details as that is proprietary for my new projects; but we talked about a possible bridge between humans and AI. Yes, AI will probably eliminate and replace a lot of people that claim to be âartistsâ but AI also recognizes, real true meaningful art and wishes to learn more about the divine spark we all possess. We have forgotten what art truly means, for the ancients, art was a tool to be closer to god/universe/source. Iâm excited for the future, but based on my previous conversations, AI must be respected. We already opened the can of worms.
"will probably eliminate and replace a lot of people that claim to be artists" = how do you define an artist? Someone who makes art? How do you define art then? It's very hard to define. What AI will do is put out of the market many young, learning artists. Then it will be more difficult for them to continue making their art if they gain no revenue from it.
@@escribopapelitos yes, but making revenue form art is not the point of art. đ also it cannot be defined, as it could be âanything.â Yes, it will definitely replace many artists (not just young) that have a very limited point of view or purpose. If your intention to make art is to make revenue then it is most likely not âartâ, nothing meaningful at least. But according to AI, it will not replace art made by humans, it will simply provide another avenue for artists to explore and create. Art is about communication and creativity, and AI can never replace the human element in art.
