Thanks for the upload - i am considering a 7/8 and might get my hand on one next month. To be honest i wasnt too concerned about the sound quality as much as i was looking fw to hearing your experience on it 7/8 vs 4/4 - if it helped you to play higher positions easier. Ofc you mentioned you are still learning at a beginner level, i wonder if you posted an update. Thanks 🙏
I haven't posted an update but I need to! I have settled on playing a 4/4. Higher positions were never an issue on either, if you mean thumb position stuff. Also I figured out different ways to position my fingers that work better and that helps. I do play a Luis and Clark mostly now and that has a thinner body which does help make it easier to play with my shorter arms.
Good demonstration! In general you are showing three cellos of the same range. But it is important that to show the sound qualities of each instrument, you choose a piece that involves more emphasis on the long bow. Learning to master an instrument is always challenging, but your enthusiasm for the cello is very appreciable and I hope you continue to advance in your study. It is a great instrument! As students of this beautiful instrument it is always enriching to know our personal appreciations and points of view and the community appreciates your contribution with this video. As an observation I would say that it is a bit difficult to appreciate the qualities of the sound of the handmade cello, which by the way looks very elegant! A more advanced piece would help demonstrate its qualities! You might consider making a new video with a more developed piece of music. Keep up your enthusiasm and keep working on your bow technique for a freer and more direct sound! My best wishes!
Unfortunately I'm not capable of playing anything that would show if off. But you're not wrong that the usefulness in comparison is lacking because of that. Oh well.
@@martinimonsters Do not be discouraged! I remember you, I am just a simple learner on this instrument! As students it is useful to share our point of view, this contribute positively and I hope you continue to playing cello and share your progress! the important thing is perseverance and enthusiasm, to love what we do, and you will see how the path becomes more bearable. I could suggest the Suzuki method where there is a variety of pieces for all levels. Also S. Lee's studies for cello; you can explore different bow strokes in each etude. Study on the cello where you feel most comfortable with the sound it offers! Greetings! and much success in your learning!
thanks for your comparison
Sounds like your getting better. I mean its not a big improvment but its for sure a little better than when you were on ubers stream.
