      Don, the curious thing is that I started building models as a professional model maker when I was 33 years old (obviously f I had started ten years earlier, I would have had many more models built). I am currently building a huge B-24 in 1:20 scale. Thank you for the comment.

    The P-38 is my favorite prop driven fighter and you really bring it to life with your model. I believe I have more than average patience for most things, but I'm sure this would be more than I could do alone. You are a true artist and master craftsman. Thank you for sharing it with us.

      Troy, thank you for the comment. This old VHS video is the only material I have on these models. Unfortunately the models were sold by the owner of Fine Art Models to a collector living in Malaysia. Among my next projects is editing some HD videos using the best photos I have of all those models (including the F4U and the B-17) that are on my old VHS videos.

    Without a doubt, Rojas is the absolute best modeler in the WHOLE world! His models are almost more real than the real ones. Even his dioramas are amazing, love those maintenance stands used to hold fuselages! I'd swear if we looked really, really close, we'd see bug smashes on the windscreens.

    Even the amount of "rivet-pucker" is scaled, according to skin thickness and load-bearing stress. That must require a precise control of fastener pressure.
    The finer the detail, the greater the skill is revealed, by orders of magnitude, for how it was created!

    • @rojasbazan
      @rojasbazan  Před 6 lety +1

      Thanks for the comment.There are many modellers who don't quite understand the rivets issue. In addition to the pressure, it is important to make rivet by rivet by hand without using riveting tools.The best way to learn this is to observe and study very well the riveting in real airplanes.

Lamentablemente la gran mayoría de los modelistas actuales solamente trabajan utilizando kits de plástico y accesorios comerciales y no tienen idea de cómo construir modelos desde cero y en metal. Your quite welcome Sir....have you done a B17 yet? Or any modern fighters? Ive watched these over and over again.

      Sir, I built a B-17 in scale 1:15. The video is on this same channel. I also built a Y1B-17 in scale 1:24. Please visit my website, where you will find the list and photos of more than 200 models I have built over 30 years. Thank you for watching.

    I had a question as to how many parts were movable. That question was answered in the last five seconds. The landing gear struts looked as though you built them with hydraulic properties. Incredible detail. I hope you have a pilot license, as much as you love airplanes.

      Charles, some of my models are engineering models; they have many movable elements; folding wings (Corsair, Devastator and Hellcat models) propellers, ailerons, flaps, slots, elevators, rudders and also many removable parts: cowlings, radio, armament and inspection hatches. Many have all the corresponding lights. Some of my Spitfires and Bf109s also has retractable landing gear and even stabilizer incidence movement). Thank you for watching my videos!

      rojasbazan -Yes, I did notice the lights that were installed to actually come on. Now, you tell me that even the cowl flaps work. That is some detail. Thank you for taking the time to answer even though I did not expect it.

      Yes, I made the cowl flaps movables in some models. I also built some bombers with rotation and elevation gun turrets. Anyway my current model in construction (Ju87 B1) will be my last engineering model forever because I'll stop building them because this kind of so complicated models takes me up to two years of work and makes me lose a lot of money because nobody can pay what really they are worth. From now on and until I retire I'll build again simpler models and in smaller scales to lower construction times and prices. Thank you for watching.

      @@rojasbazan It saddens me to hear you say you are not going to build these magnificent representations any more.. I don't build anything like yours but I do work on HO scale locomotives, (nothing like your exquisite models) and I know what you mean about making money at it. Gob bless.

      Yes, a small electric motor inside the engine model.

    All we need now is to genetically engineer some human beings to be that size scale when they reach adulthood and you'll have pilots.
