Na verdade ele estava medindo e ajustando o ph; Vi ph 8. A água pode ser solarizada para retirar o cloro. Muito lindo!

So are there air roots inside the holes in the styrofoam or are you using an air pump here?

@@geemann8021 then there needs to be air roots above the nutrient solution. How can the roots breathe when the styrafoam is floating on the water. Usually in a floating raft system there are air stones.

So what is the PPM and the PH you're using for onions? I'm experimenting with growing them, but they aren't growing as fast as yours. Also, how many times can you "cut and come again" the scallions before they stop producing? Mine are starting to produce less and less, though I'm doing them a different way using peat in a dollar store collander in a bucket.
How many cuttings were you eventually able to get with yours? I would like to know what I might expect.
@@mackenziedrake They didn't work out too good. I grew them in a sun room that sometimes gets below freezing. I got 3 cuttings and then it got too cold and they just stopped growing. I'm curious if they'll start growing again when it warms up.
@@donnybowers7832 All the best to you in that. I would like to get some green onions going from seed, rather than having to buy bulbs over and over again.
@@mackenziedrake I grow Egyptian walking onions and harvest them as scallions before they get too big (around 6 to 12 inches or so). So I'm using the little bulbs that grow on top of a mature plant as my seed. Egyptian walking onions don't produce actual seed, only the bulbs which are like onion sets.
I would have brought my plants in the house where it's warmer except I was afraid they may have had bugs in the dirt I was using. I have kale and kohlrabi that I'm growing in the house and I didn't want them to get bug infested. If I would have brought them in I'm sure I would have got much more harvest because Egyptian walking onions grow pretty fast and they grow in almost any conditions.
Next year I will use sterilized peat instead of potting soil that has compost in it. I should have scallions all winter. At least that's what I'm hoping for.
@@donnybowers7832 Thanks for the information. I have some Egyptian onions as well, and I'm focusing on propagating them at this point so I will have an expanding source of onions over time.
