Quick tip, most percentage-based “Movement speed” boosts don’t actually boost max speed. I’ve tested it with the stopwatch. They only boost movement acceleration, which becomes functionally useless once you have a dash.
Im pretty sure this has been changed in the 1.5 update yesterday, but im not sure
Actually not accurate anymore, at least not in Calamity. The latest update reworked movement speed so that it actually boosts max speed and isn't useless anymore.

Damn, calamity 1.5 just dropped right after this was recorded, Movement speed is now much better and there are lots of other changes to the game.

Back before it got patched, I used burden breaker against devourer of gods. You go incredibly fast, and the worm boss scales to your speed. Imagine a high speed boss fight. Dragon ball Z level
That'd be incredibly fun

The max speed would be a little lower than 10000mph then. Because at the time you reached the max speed of 2500 mph or something so you don't need more than one second to travel from ocean to ocean. And the speed multiplies by 4.4x per second
I remember it used to not have a cap, and I could travel a large world in like 3 seconds, this was a few years back tho so

Fun fact:
In TModLoader 1.4, there is a mod that lets accessories work in the inventory or personal storage spaces (like the piggy bank) but it’s broken because you scan stack accessories.
If you spam Anklet of the Wind across all the systems, you go VROOM.
This applies to the Class Emblems, which is how I got Daybreak to deal 1000+ damage (using the Ranger Emblem lol)

This is a different mod but there is a mod called the absolute RPG mod and one of the upgrades increases by 0.2x per upgrade and the is no cap limit so by pressing the movement key you could literally cross the world in like 1 second

For anyone rewatching, Calamity Mod speed scaling works on a diminishing returns scaling, so the more speed you have, the harder it is to get it higher.

What if you were to remove the limit of speed for the burden breaker?
Calamity has a feature that for every movement speed bonus you have, the items that give you movement bonus' give you less.
The mod takes"Do you have any idea how fast i really am?" to another level.
In thorium mod is another item like burden breaker. From what i remember this one doesnt reset speed to 0 after eaching some point
Queen bee and skeletron prime will be like oh no. Imagine you race against bosses with that speed. The only thing that can keep up with you is the camera

The speed limit wouldn't be a problem if you use frozen slime block as the floor, so stopping right before the speed limit will let you slide at very high speed (don't forget to unequip burden breaker)
u looked at all the accessories and armour that boost you in water right? they give pretty insane bonuses

I don’t know if this still works but when I played calamity a year or two ago you could just unequip burden breaker close to max speed and it’ll maintain the speed instead of stop you

isn't there like a shoe npc that gives you a boost by shiing your shoes or is that thorium
I didn't even notice that lore items gave buffs
if you want to use other mods
anti social (vanity slots give stats)
universe of yoyos (matter wings, best i could find, very fast)
zenith armor (very fast boots)
fargo's souls mod (soul of eternity, who would have geussed)
thorium (other stuff and, fast purple orb thing, idk, i forgot the name)
calamity ( burden breaker and other stuff)
and add any other mods you think will make it better
edit: all of this causes you to go so fast you get way past around 4000 mph before it sets you back to 0, so yeah
As someone who has much experience going +1k mph, I don’t understand how these speeds would be usable in game.

if you use the thorium mod and beat the primordials you get an accessory called the omega core and it makes you crazy fast im talking like going to the other side of at 2 thousand tile world in less than 10 seconds maybe 6 seconds
