Great job in every aspect. I loved the flight where it flew a large circle and landed near you and rolled to a stop almost at your feet. Thanks for all the work that you put into sharing this experience with all of us. Have a wonderful day!
What a beautiful build And such lovely flights. I had this kit as a kid but didn't have the skill to build it and the knowledge to trim and flow it but after watching this I have renewed enthusiasm.
I commend Guillows for still producing kits like this and I've built my share. However, as a scratch builder I prefer to draw my own plans because kits generally produce heavy models. The Neiuport is one of my favorite WWI biplanes. Yours looks great.
I never knew the Guillow kits could actually fly so well. Looks like the key is lightening up the build. I have this kit in a box in my basement. Not sure if all the parts are still there but I think its time to dust it off :)
Well l’m impressed. l made a couple of these balsa planes in my youth, as l remember they flew a couple of feet, but they did look great. l take it you used the rubber band from the kit, and you seem to be adding some ball bearings to the engine.
This video is perfect in itself. I love this prototype, it's a great model, beautiful work perfect flight and my aesthetic is completely satisfied! Thx!!!
As a teenager I spent many wonderful hours building Guillow's WW1 biplanes. I built them for display and hung them from my bedroom ceiling usually in dogfight scenes. I was afraid if I flew them they would crash and be ruined.
Very impressive. I've never seen a Guillows model stay up this long because I guess all I've ever seen fly are the old heavy ones they used to make. I see they finally tright to lighten their ships, because I and many others had complained about their heaviness and bad wood. This is much better, now and is getting competitive for the first time ever
Great job on the removal of excess weight, and you’re braver than me: I would never fly over such short grass! So, I’ll never see such a fabulous landing !
@@TheMwarrior50 The first thing is to make it exactly according to the plan. ・CG ・Dihedral angle ・Down thrust ・Angle of attack And make it light. That's all I can say.
Yes, a shelf is where this one belongs. Beautifully built and finished, it looks great. Fly? Well, not so much. You did a great job lightening it, but you didn’t alter the terrible and inefficient airfoil which does not produce sufficient lift for good flight. You want some up elevator, and/or an increase of top wing incidence (more decalage), and/or some up thrust, and/or a farther forward C.G., or a few prayers to the flight gods, or maybe all of these to get it to climb. All the increase of turns of the motor did was to make it go faster and fly farther away in a larger circle. Even if by some miracle you did get some altitude, once the propellor stopped, this airplane would have “glided” like a stone. Well, at least you’ll never have to fear it catching a thermal and flying away. No D/T wanted for this one. Guillows models do not fly well on rubber power, and any other power makes them fly too fast. With an electric or glow motor they flit around like a drunken mosquito. Such a shame. Try a different brand of kit like Dumas or Dare. These models can actually fly. Cheers.
Folks, THIS is how you build and fly a Guillows kit! Absolutely fantastic!

Beautiful build and flights. Some of the best I've seen. I might try a Guillow's DVII now. Your prop is great.
Thank you for watching. I was also impressed with your amazing Fokker D8 build and fly. I'm looking forward to the Fokker DVⅡ video.
Great job on the build and flight. There aren't many people that can make a Guillows kit fly!!
That's pretty darn nice!

Nice flyer. May I ask where this was filmed?

Im going to try making this as instructed, see how well it flies. Its my first balsa wood model kit :)

NICE!!!

How did you do such neat holes in the formers and the ribs?
