"Just one more Columbo video" I told myself an hour ago...
right?!?
"Just one more episode," six episodes in on Peacock 😂
@@cannabiscovepnwRight now I'm here watching the episode "A self portrait": Columbo is a drug to me.
My natural tranquilliser. Columbo always calms me down.
Agreed, better than qualoids
4:30 That look of panic/dread when she realized her "can't be mine, redheads don't use black eyebrow pencils" excuse fell apart because she uses one to apply her beauty mark. And rather than press it, Columbo says "I can tell you're not interested, I'll ask someone else", leaving her shaken and wondering if she'd gotten away with it or if he was toying with her.
Oh, that subtle psychological pressure, repeatedly chipping away at the killer. Kind of like being nibbled to death by a duck (Peter Falk quote.)
the eyebrow pencil scene .. chills. He already knew. He just wanted her to know that he knew.
Vera Miles, Martin Sheen and Vincent Price in the same episode!! What a 1-2-3!
You know its going to be good when you have Martin Sheen, and Vincent Price, and Vera Miles, playing the Villain.
Vincent Price was criminally underused in this episode. They should have had him back playing a different character as the villain
Exactly! He deserved his own main character in one of these.
💯
moronic
Gibberish
Maybe he demanded too much for his screentime
@@lewisc215😂😂😂
She definetely took it too literally when he said the formular was in his head and she broke it😂
Vincent Price... What a class act.
I couldnt kill a fly is a reference to Psycho, but in that film is he says Why I wouldnt harm a fly. Fantastic show, alwayts loved always will.
It's astonishing that Charlie Sheen got every ounce of his father's looks in youth and hardly a shred of his acting capacity.
Acting? Nah, he's *WINNING*
🤣
nepotism is a wonderful thing for those who benefit from it. Martin is brilliant in this although its a small role.
He got all of his lunacy though.
Martin sheen is 5'7" of perfection. Charlie sheen isn't even slightly attractive
Aww he was a jerk but could act. No doubt about that.
i almost always want to applaud his captures. even the villain does.
i wish i had hair like MARTIN SHEEN, instead i have a head like MR.CLEAN.
great episode columbo always had a plab piece of evidence if the killer got rid of the important one.
Vincent Price's voice is immortal ❤
Vera Miles is 93 right now and young Martin Sheen is 82 right now as of 2023.
and Barbara Eden is 91. yikes!
Great to see these two legends still alive and well
The scores for these earlier seasons were so good. The later seasons were definitely lacking in the music department.
And lacking in star power. The second run was terrible.
Slides... so many memories = please let me go back in time. Please God just bit of a rewinding...
This episode has it all, Vera Miles, a young Martin Sheen, Vincent Price & the Lieutenant at a fat farm!!! 👍👍🙂
Martin was already a star by then; he had been acting for almost 20 years at that point including Catch 22 and a stint on the soaps
Vincent could have played a much better character. Wasted here. But delicious anywhere.
This episode totally blew me away, Columbo was one of the greatest shows ever made.
A double murder episode, not sure how many episodes there are where the killer kills again to cover up the original murder.
Murder by the book and suitable for framing are a couple
I saw the full episode of this recently. The murder was accidental because as he himself had told her, he didn't write the formula anywhere, he had it memorized. She flew into a rage when he spurned her and didn't realise in the heat of that moment what the impact of the microscope she used to strike him over the head would be until he was dead.
But the second killing was quite intentional.
That's called murder. That's just murder.
You hit someone over the head hard with a heavy metal object you sure aren't looking to just give them a little bruise.
@@GillAgainsIsland12 What I am saying is it was in the heat of the moment and she instantly regretted it when she realised he was dead. The point was he was no use to her dead because the formula for the anti-aging cream was locked up in his brain, and he have it written down anywhere.
@@martinfinn1550unpremeditated murder is still murder unless a lawyer can convince a court it was accidental and was manslaughter.
I wouldn’t hurt a fly…! Borrowing a line from Psycho, which she was in!!
Vincent didn't have that good a role in this teleplay. He would have been a great killer.
✨
She so relieved " very good lieutenant ", now she won't have to deal with his presence anymore.
The most modest work in the series
Another excellent Columbo episode 😊👌
Southern California may not have poison ivy but it does have poison oak. I grew up there and all of us kids got poison oak playing in the fields.
Never talk to the police. She incriminated herself during the whole episode by talking.
That's how he gets every one of his suspects. They just can't shut up. Their attempts at deflecting suspicion always backfires.
@@angc214 yes, but people think they have to answer police questions.
That's all you got out of this episode? Mustn't be a Columbo fan then. It doesn't help when they try to kill Columbo by attempting to poison him, or point a gun at him. Even in real life if a traffic officer notices a car driving erratically and gives chase, they start throwing drugs out on to the road in full view of them.
@@power2084😂😂😂
Never murder people 😂😂😂
all star cast always.
Interestingly, the first kill (Carl Lessig) was not 'premeditated' whereas the second kill was. Thus, if the latter could be proved in a court of law, she would receive a _longer_ sentence for it than the 'original crime'!
Vera Miles was pretty smokin' hot. Someone born 1929 being eye candy in 2023. Well her younger self being eye candy.
You bet your bippy! How about this: Joan Crawford, born 1904. Still the best.
Vera was in her 40s during this. I remember seeing this when I was about 13, thirty years ago and thinking "whoa" when I saw her.
@@RADIUMGLASS When I was 13 and saw an attractive 40 yr old woman I too thought "whoa" now that I'm 69 and see an attractive 40 yr old I think "whoa."
Entertaining viewing the special guest stars 😊
Great throw
Vera Miles. What a beautiful woman. Wow.
back when everyone smoked on TV
Shirley had the hots for Viveca.
My favorite episode!
Mine too. I am surprised so many people dislike this episode.
One of the best because the actors were outstanding! The beautiful Vera Miles with her line “I’ve had 100s of young men!” Gasp, shocking ! Vincent Price should’ve had his own Columbo bad guy role. He would’ve been great in the one about a mortician.
This one totally blew me away, seems pretty strange that most people miss this one out when asked about their favourite episode.
vera miles good in this episode
Vera Miles is 44 here. A lovely bit of crumpet.
Hits him with a microscope, then asks carl carl what's going on are you ok e
When the body was taken out of the home Columbo when asked said he did not need to see the body. in another episode Columbo was upset because the body was moved before he got there.
Please upload the less popular ep there are many gems people would appreciate
Vera Miles was a beauty.
It's too bad Vincent Price was never a Columbo villain
The guy score the Michael Jackson “thrillers” laugh in the end of the song
Does anyone know his name ?
Vincent Price
Vincent Price, famous for horror films.
He got paid $25,000 for that.
@@RADIUMGLASS Deservingly so.
Thx u
Vincent Price auch dabei?!
A young Rrrrrrrrrrrrrramon Estevezzzzzzzz
As of right now in 2023 Vera Miles (the murderer) is till going at 93.
Is that Vincent Price?
Right
If 6868. Wasn't ever in house no 8. Who's fibbing
young martin sheen
Biffola
Good heavens, what an extremely gorgeous Lady.
This episode made in 1973 was a bit too early for anti-wrinkle creams. I think the first true anti-wrinkle creams in the modern sense of them, only started to become commercially available from the late 1980's onwards. This was not one of my favourite episodes but it would be in my top 20. The actress who plays the secretary Shirley Blain is familiar to me, I have seen her guest starring on TV shows made during the 70's, Kojak, Ironside, Rockford Files and a few others.
“Anti wrinkle” creams have been used since at least Roman times. Whether they worked is another story.
Shirley also played Coach's daughter on Cheers.
..there is poison ivy in California, at least in Altadena, hahah
Hit him again Vera and put some sting to it. He deserves it all. Rejecting Vera Miles!
he had a trip to Paris and WHERE??? GEORGE SANK? WHERE WAS THE SECOND LOCATION AT @3:12
George Cinq (George V) Hotel, and a week on the Riviera.
Vera Miles deserved this part...
and your thumb print is on the tv guide booklet when your wrote out your offer to Martin Sheen when you were in his apartment. Of course that was ruined by our officer who picked it up and wiped it clean. Anyway, you're going to prison for murder, you'll be popular.
Her prints should be on the microscope as well. She wasn't wearing any gloves when she grabbed and hit him with it.
@@patrickjohnson5658 she cleans the microscope off, but not the tv guide. It isn't in this shortened version but it is shown in the full length
@@truthlifefishing1730 Fair enough. It is a while since I saw the full length episode even though I have it on DVD. As it turned out though she got poison ivy when she touched the slide on the microscope according to Columbo, and he got his poison ivy when he touched the broken glass of the slide on the ground.
@@patrickjohnson5658 I had to watch it about ten times before I noticed anything.
Vera has never been so beautiful
Martin sheen and Donald pleasence are in the same season. Being fafh
Imagine standing in the dress section of a high end clothing store, lighting up a cigarette and just blowing smoke all over the clothing still on the racks lol Who doesn't want to pay 400 dollars for a dress that smells like it was pre dragged through an old, smelly ashtray? 🤢
And that was 100% normal back then. Sometimes the nostalgia goggles make you forget how gross the past really was.
Hi
I love Vera Miles, very beautiful woman!!!!!!
Meow meow ✨️✨️✨️
🎉🎉
I did not like the episodes went after female killers i liked it better when he went after male killers as female killers seemed too nervous and male killers seemed "real killers"
