      Actually from "Late Night With the Devil" movie 2023. Many 1970's references..parts of this I recognized were in it( not DIRECTLY to this event tho) . Came here to check..yes! Good horror movie..esp if you are old enough to remember the all references in it.

      I was 10 and remember the report of Miss Hearst's kidnaping. It was on February 4, 1974, and I was listening to the 10 pm (ET) CBS Radio News. Quite a memory you have there.

    These clips are nothing-when I was a kid TV cut to the shootout live in middle of after school cartoons - wow did my eyes get BIG.
    Entire scenario patty Hearst the weird fake kidnapping her doing bank robbers with a machine gun ...the shoot out the trials afterwards all way out & bizarre & it fit right in with Black Panthers episodes & Charlie Manson gang & super freaky is DeAngelo the Auburn Cali detective w/Golden state killer & Dating Game killer was loose as well as several cops who got caught murdering women & the biker gangs, cholo gangs,Asian gangs etc yeah 70s California was a MAD DOG.

    I found my way to this video, because of noticeable resentment over rising costs and wages staying the same, August 2023. And if that could lead to civil unrest.

      If that could be a catalyst for a group similar to the SLA, who's motives included demanding Patti Hurst's father buy food for a lot of poor people in LA.

    Remember the SLA's first crime was to ambush and kill a black man, Oakland's first African American School Superintendent; Marcus Foster. So stunning, so brave and the SLA finally got what they deserved. A comrade BBQ.

    • @ToyotaGuy1971
      @ToyotaGuy1971 Před 6 měsíci +1

      You're the one being a racist talking like it was an act of racism, hypocrite. It was because the guy who happened to be black was for student I.D. cards and the SLA didnt like the implications of it. His murder had nothing to do with his race so bring it up is racism. Trying to paint his murder as racially motivated is racist-hypocrisy.

      @@hankypanky9476 So you are for summary execution? No trial, no jury, just a death squad. What was his "crime?" I see you didn't expain; Therefore I accuse you of intentionally trying to hide the truth and mislead. The reason they killed Foster and wounded another was because of his alleged support of a plan to require a student identification card system in Oakland schools, which they called "fascist". The proposed program was intended to reduce vagrancy and keep non-student drug-dealers off campus. Is this a capital crime in your twisted little world?

    Not a big fan of the LAPD. I still haven't forgiven them for that stunt they pulled with Rodney King. But the officers who slaughtered the SLA on May 17, 1974? Those guys were heroes that day. They are among the finest officers in American history.

      The "stunt they pulled with Rodney King"?
      They arrested him -- after he violently resisted arrest, and after they were told by a civilian review board that cops weren't supposed to use chokeholds to gain control over violently resisting suspects. (So they applied their truncheons until he complied with them.)

      They were a washed-up, delusional organization that was a holdover from the practically extinct (in 1974) left-wing revolutionary movements of the 60's and 70's. Their goal was revolution -- they thought they were sparking an uprising against the US government.

      That's a very good observation ! I don't know when, or if the full story about the SLA will ever come out, but there just seems to be elements of pure fantasy with this whole episode ! Now, that's not to say that everything that happened, happened just that way. Life can be stranger than fiction ! Here, in the UK/England, we say, 'It must be true, because no one could make up such a story !'

      Really, bro? So much context missing. The SLA were a washed-up, delusional group of "revolutionaries" that needlessly killed people for a movement that was on its way to its deathbed already. Senseless.
