The Christmas Surprise

- We work in Africa and we only come home every few years. Our families weren't expecting us home for another year and a half so they got the surprise of their lives when we showed up for Christmas this year! First, we surprised the kids (we didn't want them to accidentally tell our parents on FaceTime). Then we surprised my mom (with my sister's help!). She said that she couldn't believe it was really Sarah when she opened the box and didn't want to touch her for fear that she wasn't real! The next day we took the boxes and kids to Emily's parent's house and surprised her mom in the morning (with Emily's brother's help). We set Emily up on FaceTime and made her background look exactly like our room in Africa! Her mom thought she was being clever when she said that the boxes contained Aiden and Sarah. Ha, ha! The joke was on her! Then she called her mom and we surprised her! Emily's dad had gone away for a few days to visit family out of state so Emily's mom helped us surprise him at the airport. We actually just stood around the airport hoping that he would notice us. That didn't work so I sent the kids to grab him! Finally we all piled in the car together and surprised Emily's sister and her family on their front porch! What a fun couple of days! Hope you enjoy!!

The best gift in the world is to be surrounded by loved ones. Most of my family has passed away including a lot of my friends so though I’m really sad this time of year it brings me more cheer to see other ppl happy. God bless you all and Merry Christmas!

I remember my grandmom, my dads mom. Thats her reaction everytime she sees me even not on christmas. Im her favorite, but now she is too old. She has an alzhimers deases old people usually get. She doesnt remember me at all. She doesnt know me anymore. Better tell your children to cherish them as long as they can. I miss my grandmom.

What a great job the kids did sitting and waiting to be unwrapped. We lived in Cambodia when my kids were little and spent every Christmas on the mission field for all their childhood. So glad you got to go home.

Absolutely wonderful! But did anyone else notice that everyone hugged the girl but only the grandfather hugged the boy? I felt bad for him.
Yes, I was thinking that too... but his uncle hugged him as well, when they surprised their cousins.
Life Happens I read this comment and then watched the video. Everyone hugged the boy except the great grandmother who the little girl ran too but the boy ran away.

Anyone who has attempted similar moments is well aware of the amount of energy and planning required to pull off an event like this. (Not to get picky, but several times the incorrect spelling of a word has been used, opening text for example, the proper spelling is "SURPRISE.")
I'm an editor at heart. I find typos and errors everywhere it seems. So I guess you've been shown that the word "surprise" is misspelled in the very first title on your video. Sorry. Can't help myself.
You can sure tell the young lady really misses living back in the States.
