I think I understand the reason I rarely watch Sunday anymore. It’s like every video is a glimpse into his mind, feeling scattered, with this looming feeling of despair in the narration.. Jesse was always my favorite presence in NELK, especially during their roadtrip days.
I realize now why I liked him so much, and it’s because the rest of the crew could be so overbearing, meanwhile Jessie would often keep to the background until he had some articulate, outside the box thing to say. I think where Sunday went wrong is that Jessie was never meant to be the main character.
Just how thousands of other entrepreneurs aren’t the face of their brands either. It takes a certain energy, high IQ conversation skills to be the face of a brand, especially when that brands primary presence is literally an entertainment platform.
I mean seriously, I don’t know a single other person in the background of these videos. I mean, what happened to the old man “your dad” from your pranks a few years back? 😂 We loved him! It seems like you’re over involved in every aspect, and instead of letting ideas bloom naturally, you try to curate them yourself, like your ADHD won’t let it happen any other way.
My point is, There is a whole team behind you that we would love to meet, but 80% of shots are just you trying to articulate your next profound statement, but it just comes off arrogant, and self centered. You are not Sunday, Sunday as an idea, it’s a headspace, it’s a place you come to try and articulate those ideas onto paper, and maybe even physically. L Let us watch as Sunday transforms, we all want to see that! But also give your team some space to be creative themselves. You don’t need to be involved in every faucet of your company. You need to focus on what you want to do. That’s why you built this, it’s the point of having staff. So that you can thrive in what you love, while the machine you built drives the ship.

I feel like the issue here sits with how you’ve marketed your brand.. I feel a lack of hype surrounding the brand in which market it sits (alongside supreme, etc..). That’s why fullsend clothing sold so well, thanks to the hype platform. However, I’m sure you’re already aware of all of this and just struggling to find traction. Still I have to agree. Confusing since the start, it doesn’t feel like we’ve left the ‘development’ stage after so long.

The point Train is that with admiration and determination you can do anything. Jesse is a hero to me, scrubbing his own brand from nothing. But if it wasn't for Nelk... At the end of the video I’m just as confused as I was before
The problem with this business is that you dont realize that youre just selling the same stuff to your original fan base, you say the F a trademark sold 1000 tshirts, you couldve literally sold a plan white T shirt and it wouldve been the same. Your audience is supporting you and not the brand. You keep showing this rigorous process that you do to make these clothes, but your audience doesnt give af. You would get the same results putting concepts up on your website and making them as the orders come in. Who am I though... continue to waste your money. If you were serious about growing this brand organically and turn it into preimium street wear you shouldve not put your face on it and then see what really happens.
