  • Mount Denali can be elusive. It is estimated that only 30% of people who come to Denali National Park actually see it! The other 70% don't due to cloud cover. God definitely blessed us with the weather on this trip because we will see Mount Denali for a few more days IN A ROW.
We hike the strenuous Savage Alpine Trail in Denali National Park. Gorgeous views. Windy. Hard. Epic. Worth it. Alaska is incredible.
After seeing Denali on this trail, we head out of Denali National Park on the Parks Highway on the way to Anchorage. Right off the highway, you can spot Igloo City which is an abandoned igloo structure that was built in the 1970s but was never opened. We heard that it will be renovated and opened- we hope so!!
We end the video with an epic view of Mount Denali in the midnight sun. Did you spot the crescent moon behind it?? What???!!! Stunning. No words.

@@NickandJulie Yeah- our long range plan is to take our truck camper to Alaska, it will be a few years before we’ll get there. A good thing to work towards!

Great views. The Igloo needs to be up to code? That's interesting way out there.

Oh yea that’s one thing that surprised us about Alaska is that it’s pretty regulated. Fishing and hunting is also regulated just like anywhere else all the way up here.

As a back country Park Ranger in Northern BC for many years, I can tell you bear bells don't work. They actually attract bears because they are curious about the sound. I laughed everytime I used to run into people with bear bells. 99% of them European.

Good to know! We had one but we always forgot it and never used once 😂 I did read that the human voice is more effective at scaring bears away. Is that true?

I learned that some geography classes in other countries teach people that Denali & Aconcagua are on the same continent.

That is true. Some countries teach North & South America as just America.
