I saw Francis at a house concert for my friend, Martin in Leicestershire. It was absolutely incredible, his backing singer was amazing. The songs "Good Life" and "Underneath Your Pillow", amongst all the others, were performed acoustically and have stuck with me ever since as being perhaps the greatest "live performed" songs I've ever heard in my life. Thanks, Francis. You're amazing.

This resonates with me so much. I was pursuing a career in music in all of the typical ways and was left feeling very empty. I craved a deeper connection and less flashing lights. I didn't know what to do until I heard about house concerts. I Googled the concept and found your ebook. I read it and was filled with life. I'm starting my first house concert tour in 8 months and couldn't be more excited. Thank you!!

I had seen you several times with It Bites and had seen you twice in clubs during your solo career tours (once solo [Mercury Lounge], once with your band) - but the most amazing performance of yours I've ever seen and experienced was your house concert in Cincinnati. The performance in Rik's flat above Mole's Records was truly brilliant and inspiring.

What an incredible man..... only just discovered your music after experiencing your phenomenal performance at Bush Hall....... Best gig I have ever been to... the band were incredible, especially as they only had two rehearsals.... Has completely changed my attitude as a guitarist and performer.. I learned a lot that evening and enjoying it ever more as I have a lot to catch up on

So True Francis, every word, in fact i liked this video so much i played it over and over to soak up every word, and it is so obvious when you explain it the way you do, i worked in operating theatre's and i put my greens on, i am leather jacket man in an operating theatre, if i didn't put my greens on no one would know who i am and i put on a performance each time there is a new case coming through the door, i do my part for the anaesthetist i assist him he also has his leather jacket on doing his part, love the way you speak , makes total sense to me, it wasn't until you pointed it out i started thinking about it. all the best .

What a guy, not enough interviews with Francis, he really tells it like it is, and It Bites are no more than a tribute act without him, one of my guitar idols.

You can also take this for actors too, i did a few films a few years ago, didn't do too bad, work with a few well knows, but I got fed up of the dressing up , more on the side of acting like an actor , and being can be draining, and when your gig is over, it can be a huge come down , and you mentioned Egos, lol thats another story, but yea I agree totally what you're saying 👍

Great Stuff Francis. Spot On! Popular music is theatre! Always has been! Even the Beatles had to wear smart suits to make them 'appealing'. David Bowie took dressing up and theatre to its peak - even changing the name of his changed name!! Creating Ziggy and Aladdin Sane to hide behind.
You're welcome round my house any time in T-shirt and jeans Francis. Just let me know and I'll get the kettle on!. :-)

I never thought of “dressing up” in the music industry as much of this. Kinda weird and scary. Love his music and his take on things

Not quite true... Ed Sheeran is very successful for being himself and not dressing up.

I think there are some people who didn't dress up and did alright. But most of the music industry is based on image as is most of life. Who I am is nameless.
