Nope, the melody is from the Russian Empire, the soviets used a lot of Imperial songs, but they only changed the words. Search the imperial songs of Russia, they are much better than the ones that were made at soviet time.
@@nicks5636 Nope.) 1) Soviets really used imperial music. And why should they don't use? This music was created by landlords only for landlords? PolarMaths Lol... Listen to French army marches. They are so rousing, that you want to rally to your battalion and let impure Prussian blood water our meadows...
*Tfw you invade a so-called subhuman country with the most advanced armed forces, experienced commanders, and largest military-industrial complex in the continent and get your asses kicked by a nation that was a feudalistic backwater just 20 years ago*
+LineOfCars You're right. Even during WWI the Russian Empire / Soviet Union was already capable to defeat the Axis forces, but they were ruled by terrible leaders and the industrial productivity was also very low, which resulted in terrible losses and lack of firearms etc. Just 1 rifle per 3-4 soldiers or something like that.
Agree. Sounds like something old Fritz himself used to march to back when he got his army drills. On the other hand quite fitting. Throwing the Banners and Standards of the defeated enemy right down to Stalin's feet while playing music inspired by that enemy as some kind of final mockery.
*I've been playing to much Hoi4* ...

i love that game...
It's great. It just needs some good peace-time mechanics to put it one the same level as EU4.

Contrary to other comments, I think this march sounds very at home among Commonwealth marches.
It sounds Napoleonic, super cool.

Colonel Colonist lmao yes
"Slav'sya" means "Glory to" or "Be Glorius". Isn't this the same thing, just added "the motherland" to the end?
Ah, I see. Thank you.
It's not exactly a ripoff... it's probably a reference or sample. Like how the Germans/Prussians put Die Wacht Am Rhein in Siegesmarsch Von Metz.
