Key West Waterman, what a joke. More like King of Key West. Outstanding 4k Key West content. Bravo!!!
Aaron, l just saw Kelly Young and Bluegabe, ya know l was one of the early subscribers, saying you should do a Colab with Deer Meat For Dinner, l even emailed him.... No response.... Well at least you got in with his more down to earth Brother Bluegabe and Kelly. 👍Kudos, you deserve all the recognition that comes your way 🤘
Great video. Love that video part from on top showing those buoys flying.
I like when you repeat yourself on stuff because it helps keep it in person for most of us who may not get to do this everyday
Bluegabe sent me over. Subscribed. You spent sunup to sundown drifting! Great vid.
Great video. What I really enjoy is when you show us commercial fishing as a source of income and not just a bunch of fun.
The Wahoo gravlax looks unbelievable I’ve gotta try that!

thank you for all your work and I'm just starting to watch all your videos, because I came over just recently and I can watch what you do every day. from the other side of the country. I agree with the spearfishing idea great way to fish. wish I were younger. stay safe
really happy to hear that! glad you like the channel and thanks so much for watching and taking the time to share!
Love you videos and the commentary you use for it.
Hope you charter business and this channel continues to grow in the next year.
I love the videos just the way they are showing and telling the truth and sometimes not saying anything speaks for it self great job as always brother 👏
I actually giggled a bit when you were killing the fish and said Will cures this wahoo 🤣
That footage of the wahoo jumping was crazy , so cool, well done👏👏
I always love watching the cook ups to & seeing what others do with there catch, think I’ll be giving this a go
If you see this message, I also recently shot a marlin and got some of the most insane marlin spearfishing footage where the marlin jumped free of the water, it’s wild,
Love your wrk fellas😎
Aaron your a madman! Grabbing that wahoo while it’s still kicken lol craziest thing I’ve seen you do so far. Awesome video young man
Another great video brother, and glad to see William back on his game LOL.
Another great video man. Thanks for sharing and keep em commin! I cant wait to get back down and do some fishing myself :D
Looks like there was another wahoo/kingfish checking yours out at 11:02. Another great video brotha keep it up!
Another awesome video Aaron !!
Patience and persistency always pays off..
Now I have to go catch one so I can try the recipe..🤣
haha get out there! was incredible really going to be a staple in our house now!
That cured fish looks amazing. That would be an excellent appetizer for a party. Thank you!
We do this recipe with the Coho salmon from the river here. I don't care for the dill that much, so I do it with pepper. If you hit it with a couple of hours of cold smoke, it makes it next level. It also helps if you put something heavy on the fish while it's curing to push the liquid out. I think I might have to add wahoo hunting to my bucket list. Hawaii is closer than Florida though, so I might try there.
that's kinda what I was thinking! and yes we had weight on it while it cured. wills idea not mine. and its a must! my favorite fish!
Stick and stay make it pay.
Good points you were bringing up about how long it takes sometimes and truthfully most of the time you never even see them.
Caught that magic hour good thing you turned around for your gun🤙🐟
Great Vid thanks for sharing
just trying to keep it real! thanks so much for watching brother! got lucky on the last one! haha
Wahoo and Kingfish Ceviche is awesome! I use jalapenos and a ton of onion, no garlic.
You can also smoke the Wahoo after the cure!
Another great video! One on the boat two diving, I like that. Starting to get a little more comfortable every video with the sharks around, I saw one a little deeper in this one.
Lax is salmon in swedish (probably Norwegian as well)... The Grav bit is the curing process. It's one of the staple Christmas dishes here in Sweden. Cant wait to try it with Wahoo! Great video.
sounds like im gonna have to come up with a new name! thanks for the info!
grav lax is a swedish/scandinavian recipe and it basicly means cured salmon. We usaually eat it around Christmas and then most commonly we use traut with grav lax sås on a kind of flat bread called tunnbrö
Yea that’s what i hear but it was delicious with wahoo! Def will be doing it again!
Patient seems to be the trick sometimes. Great job sometimes you have to work a little extra but the wahoos are running strong. Great job
I love the vibes when i watch your vid keep it up😊 im new too and i have really liked the videos
Aron! If it's not to much to ask for. I would really like to see the other people at the end of the vid eat as well. Where it's raw fotage and just hanging out. That would make my day‼️/Ola from Sweden 🇸🇪🇸🇪🐠🐠🐠🐠👋
Lax is swedish for salmon. Gravlax means buried salmon with salt, sugar and dill. It is a great way to prepare all sorts of fish, as you showed.
Great video!
Very cool video bro, when that wahoo jumped, that was crazy, also I never seen anyone use a wahoo for lox, usually just salmon, man that stuff on a bagel with cream cheese and capers, should be money
it was wild! and it really was amazing can't wait to get another wahoo so I can do it on a bagel! we ate the whole piece that night! 😂
@@KeyWestWaterman lol y’all were being extra greedy huh,I know you will get more soon
Hi Aaron , Key West Waterman . Just saying you have rapidly became a go to CZcams site I watch . Your right there with DMFD, Bluegabe , Kelly Young and that entire Arrington crew ! Keep it up . Meanwhile you have introduced me to cooking with Clams ! So a huge thank you for such a great season (s ) of videos ..
Really appreciate that! Flattering to even be mentioned along with those names! Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment!

Jamping wahoo! 😁 👍
Прикольные кадры получились благодаря этой бойкой рыбке..
Holy moly Aron I just seen you did a video with blue gab congratulations my man I knew it was only a matter of time befor you get content from the big CZcamsrs . Don’t mind me if I run up to you with a camera when I see you lol paparazzi style
haha Gabe and Kelly are incredible people! we had a blast. and please don't do that!
@@KeyWestWaterman only a matter of time I see you with dearmeat . Congratulations
Hey Aaron the gravet laks is a common recipe here in Scandinavia (Denmark) and laks means salmon in Danish.
And the gravet is the name of the curing method 👍👍
really appreciate the info! it turned out great but sounds like we are gonna have to rename this one! haha
Awesome video!
@@KeyWestWaterman I don’t believe you have ever posted a video I didn’t enjoy! This channel is going to grow huge, good work!
Watching this and the NE vs Bills game where it's blizzard conditions... I know where I'd rather be! 😎🌴🍹. Pura Vida
You always are doing the coolest stuff.........gravlax....I am trapped indoor...we just got hit with 13 inches of snow from Saturday to Sunday afternoon....then the wind was howling and the temperature dropped....looks like the wind-chill currently is -19F..... I would love to be swimming, fishing, and cooking in the heat right now.....
Dude, you make great videos.....they always leave me with a smile.
Just wondering? Do you ever bring in fish that have roe? If so, would love to see a brined fish eggs experiment.
Haha no thank you! And yes it’s pretty common. Will has actually used the roe before! That is well out of my wheel house of experience in the kitchen!
Wahoo is one of my top five fish to eat. Probably more than Cobia.
BTW, my late father in law came from Norway and made Gravlax with salmon. It was an acquired taste for a lot who tried it I thought I died and went to heaven.
I make salmon gravlox often. It is awesome. Never thought of doing it with other fish though
it really was amazing with wahoo, I've had it with salmon as well and man they both are great!
So glad I stumbled upon your channel as well as CLAMS, I'm really enjoying the content y'all are producing. Did your "baby" get new upholstery?
Gravad Lax or gravlax is indeed salmon as lax means salmon in Norwegian, Danish (laks) and probably Swedish, too;). Well done to you for getting those fish and awesome of Will to "experiment" with the curing on it. I am not surprised it's tasty as I grew up eating a lot of gravad laks:)
that's awesome! good to know thanks so much for sharing! and it really do turn out amazing!
@@nickegranis well, almost got it right. At least in my own language, haha. The point was more about how lax/laks is salmon.
Awesome again Aaron, Great patience! I'm curious to how big that Wahoo was...40ish lbs?
Be patient and meet the fish - Aaron the wahoo slayer
Definitely helps to listen closely to instructions from one of the best to make a awesome plan come together
If you had to suggest one FL Keys free-diving necessity outside the basic (speargun, fins, mask,) what would it be? What is invaluable in your domain?
Great Content!
My favorite fish Wahoo are small swordfish.
@@KeyWestWaterman Absolutely agree it’s really just a point about pelagic fish in general. I love them both and if I could only eat one protein it would be fish/shellfish.
Finally shot my first hoo the other day and it was exactly like that, diving all day seeing only a couple fish being sketchy and as I was getting in the boat the pack was right behind me, I quickly loaded my gun and shot the biggest one!
Go immediately to 8:37 into the video if you’re looking for a good explanation why they call them Wahoo
I just found your channel. It is great! I have learned so much in just a few videos. I live in TX. I have a 16-yr-old who is newly obsessed with spearfishing. A newbie for sure. We have just a few days during Christmas school holiday to give it a try. He wants to practice or get instruction. I am trying to find somewhere we can drive to (Navarre and Destin are 12 hrs) that he can get some practice from shore. Does such a place exist? If we can get some experience then the next step would be to plan a proper trip with a charter with you. What is the best time during the summer? Are any fish in season right now in FL? Am I crazy to even attempt this? He is a certified SCUBA Open Water and Advanced Diver with PADI. No freediving experience yet. Thank You!
that is awesome! and i'm honestly not sure, I'm not familiar at all with north Florida! there's always something in season to spear at all times just check the local regulations, we have different regulations here in Monroe county from the gulf side of Florida. for beginners down here I recommend anytime after may 1 that's when grouper opens for us in Monroe county.
Love the wahoo spearfishing vids. Any word on that deermeatfordinner collaboration?
nice!! way to go on the buzzer beater action and making that happen split second like that. thats the difference between being a killer and a hunter.
Do you think the commotion of pulling in the flashers drew them in? Or was it just coincidence?
I noticed early in the video you're loading your gun and the end of the bands have a bit of cracking, at what point do you replace them?
I just eyeball them! those have about 2-3 more trips on them. then they turn into reef gun bands
Did you ever imagine that people would be tuning in to view you and Johnny Depp would be doing a 45 second commercial for your financial benefit?
You leave your motors on while going down? Doesn’t look like you have the Merc joystick. Just curious why
Have you tried that with other species? You mentioned that you like AP sashimi also. Seems like it would make great take along snacks.
will has done it with other species yes, including bluefish. def can be done.
with camo wetsuits you can't be seen LOL, not the first time this joke was made huh
I am a land hunter myself. I've always viewed spearfishing as underwater hunting and you used the term in this video. Thought that was cool.
What fillet knife or knives do you use? After fighting my way through a few fish this weekend I think it might be time for an upgrade.
the cheapest one out there! lol dexter Russel basics. they are around $11 on amazon and the edge always comes back.
Hey Aaron, what dive mask do you use? I've been doing alot of research into masks with gopro mounts but the best research is from those who use them in the field daily. Thanks!
if i'm filming go mask mono lense, if i'm just diving no camera. scuba pro solo. I have trouble with masks putting pressure on my forehead. that's the only mask that doesn't give me that trouble!
Another killer video guys I’d love to see what he does with wild duck I have such a hard time finding good new recipes, we’ve been killing it lately up palm beach area. The invite is still there if y’all want to come up!
no idea! go on his channel and ask him! maybe he can do a recipe! and I'll find time eventually! haha
@@KeyWestWaterman sounds good maybe I’ll ship y’all some if you can’t make it up here this year
What's up man you took a week off this is the old fart hahaha how do you like the knife you haven't showered yet to see it so I can see it Merry Christmas man God bless you God bless. Beautiful woman that you have beside you
Hey Aaron, been watching your channel for over a year now. You’re my favorite CZcamsr I absolutely love your videos. never really checked out the comment section before and just realized that you reply to every comment. Makes me like and respect you even more! Keep it up brother you rock
really happy to hear that! can't thank you enough for watching! I try to get to them all when I can, love talking with everyone and always appreciate any feedback!
I second that, Aaron is just the real deal and it shows not just in the videos, but as you say, in the comments, too. I do hope the channel blows up and can garner him some proper income and wont hold it against him if it means he can't find the time to come back here as often:)
Aaron love your videos, all your tips and techniques. I am still hesitant to bleed fish while still in the water. Especially if we are still fishing. Does bleeding a fish in the water attract sharks? Take care and continue with the great videos.
@@nigelkhan9278 Sharks can feel blood from many miles away, so you really need to be very careful if you are hunting in areas where there are a lot of sharks.
