A fantastic era. Many names that brings on The feeling of nostalgica. Klammer and Heinzer dominated the speed parts and Stenmark the technical (slalom, giant slalom ) ☺
This video is WAY too short......there were two DH races in Austria in the 81/82 season....Steve Podborski (CAN) came in SECOND in the first one....and FIRST the second one. I don't know if Schladming was the first or second location. The 81/82 DH season was one "for the ages".....After coming in second at the Whistler DH, Podborski was said to have "clinched" the DH title.....but then Mueller (who had won the Whistler race) did what was, if not the impossible, certainly the most improbable by winning BOTH end of the season DHs races in Aspen. Mueller had won the LAST THREE DOWNHILLS of the season!!!! With both men in a points tie and no mechanism in place to break it they were declared "co-champions" in the DH for the 81-82 season. I would appreciate if "historians" could let me know if this has ever happened before...or since. TIA, I look forward to an answer to that question.
Wieso wurde eine eig so naheliegende Neuerung wie Carving Ski erst so spät eingeführt? Aus heutiger Sicht erscheint es absurd mit Ski ohne Taillierung zu fahren.
eine Zeit damals ohne blaue Linien, ohne Sicherheitsplanen, ohne künstliche Vereisung. Heute alles unvorstellbar. Danke fürs Hochladen.

Schirennen mit Seeger und F1 mit Prüller. Das waren schöne Zeiten für alle die es erleben durften.
