  • The Boldon Lane was left over from the Episode. It has a long tunnel view which leads all the way up to the platform. The platform finally get fitted to the baseboard and the ballasting is done. Busy days........Enjoy.

Hi Tony! Just watched part 4 and 5 of the series and am blown away by how you've gone about constructing the underpass entrances! It really is a work of genius! Just planning how to do these things is a great achievement, but then having the skill to implement your vision is astounding! I absolutely love the way you model, and find it increasingly educational! Thanks mate! All the best, Ian.

Hi Tony , its incredible how a few bits of cardboard can turn into an entrance and tunnel, so looking forward to the building of the station building, ive been Google my old school railway line , its sad to see all the old Victorian stations have been replaced with steel and glass 😮 take care, regards Marc

Only one thing I’d have maybe added to the second entrance that was in that photo: a bus stop 🚏 Pretty much where the Ford Anglia was parked. It looked like there was one in that picture and it would be ideal for buses that are carrying on along that road rather than making them turn left 🤔

Hi Tony, Another job well done, or a few jobs actually.
That pointer cracks me up. I keep thinking of zany Kenny Everett. 😂.
I meant to mention it on your last video, forgot, but was once again reminded when you talked about clearance from platform to trains, or as it is known on the real railways, the Loading Gauge. I am sure that I sent you, via email, an image of all the Loading Gauge clearances in diagrammatic form, with a table of dimensions by modelling scale, underneath. The clearance from the centreline of track to platform edge in 4mm scale (00/EM/P4) is 18mm, I believe. The loading gauge saves running into any problems whether it's a model or the real 12”:1’ scale.
If you want another copy, let me know and I will sent it via email to you. Have a nice weekend and say a big hello to Mrs T. Best, Jason.

Hello my friend Jason. I do love the Kenny Everett video show. but had two huge hands lol. it always cracked me up. and he always did his videos in the best possible taste. Dear Tony, beautiful how you did the underpass entrance under the bridge. Love the ‘shadow box’ perspective end piece creating the illusion of the underpass going all the way to the station’s staircase. Awesome how the single led lights up the scenic vignette inside the bridge wall and creates another dimension underneath the bridges towards the Tyne Dock docks. Am looking forward to seeing the first plans for the station buildings. Very curious how you will do the rather complicated ‘lace’ fascia around the edges of station’s canopy. Cheerio

Good morning Vincent. thank you for commenting as always its great to hear from you. the Boldon lane underpass is something that as you say gives the illusion that it goes all the way. i think is was the only way to do that one. i think it does work. the only thing is its very rarely going to be seen. i will try and get some better shots of the underpass in the next video. your right the valance around to top edge is very unusual. i may have to compromise a little bit. cheer's for now my friend Tony.

Heya, Tony - love your work. Silly question: the photo of the entrance appeared to show the tile walls going straight up, lots of sunlight…was that ramp open to the platform above, perhaps?
    Cheers.

Hello Pete, many thanks for commenting. the answer to your question was that the ramp was open to the elements and lead all the way to the platform/station. with my build the underpasses are enclosed because of being directly under the bridge. its a small concession to make. but i think its justified. thanks again my friend. all the best Tony.

Sheesh, the stuff you’re able to do - you’re allowed any concession you’d like!
