    No one asked for the New Mass except modernists and Freemasons. Thank you for the analysis.

      @@lauraanderson7358 It sounds like he had affection for the "Old" Mass but no deep conviction about it. But this is just Ganswein's subjective opinion, and since Benedict was involved in Vatican 2 his motives are probably conflicted. God bless him.

    Unfortunately, it didn’t only break his heart, it broke the hearts of all that sincerely yearn for God. At daily mass, 15 people now attend. On Sunday mass, only 33 years ago, my parish attendance was standing room only. Now, swathes of empty pews can be seen all around the church. A failed experiment that continues, even though the NO ONE WANTS the nonsense that’s being fed to us! It will truly be a small remnant left to guard the church of Jesus Christ!

    It breaks my heart also.. the Latin mass is so beautiful and spiritual. So peaceful. We love the Latin Mass and thank God everyday..
    Pope Benedict the 16th may he rest in peace. He was a very good Pope.

    I grew up with the Latin Tridentine Mass and I was horrified when it was replaced by the Novus Ordo at my local church.

    Thank you Dr Robert: I really appreciated your post on this. My father never knew what to answer me when growing up in the 70s I asked him my burning questions about the Faith.
    I have only recently understood what happened to faithful Catholics like my father after Vatican II which I feel has overshadowed my life. I was born a week after it closed and I am only now beginning to realise the full weight of what I and my whole generation were deprived of in terms of catechesis, sacramentals and reverend liturgy. Thank you so much for your witness.
    May Providence restore to us what has been lost and free us from what binds us,
    warmest regards,
    Karen in Cambridge , Uk

      It ruined 😪 the church. In the USA modernists priests and Bishops ran wild, chainsaws took out statues, High Altars, kneelers and rails. Rendering churches bare, looking like prison gymnasiums. No mysterious and deeply contemplative atmosphere. No connection to The Lord and let's not mention His Blessed Mother either. Lots of tears 😢

    Many, many hearts are broken, but we must resort to silent, prayerful meditation for an increase in the gifts of Faith, Hope and Charity. Our God cannot resist responding to these virtues!
    Thanks be to God.

    Thank you immensely Dr. Moynihan for giving here and in the English language from the original TV German interview with Pope Benedict XVI's Personal Secretary Archbishop Georg Gansswein.
    Our Lord Jesus Christ always encourages us in our distressing moments openning difficult "closed" doors we encounter in all aspects in life.

    Dr Moynihan, thank you for this broadcast and information. Many of us truly needed to know of Benedict's reaction. Francis's motu proprio Traditionis Custodes was such a rebuke to Benedict that we were flabbergasted that it happened at all, let alone while Benedict was still alive. Benedict's 2007 motu proprio Summorum Pontificum was beautifully written and quite theological in its content, while I found Francis' TC very small and rather mean-spirited. Oremus.

    It would be right and good for Bishops to offer a Latin Requiem Mass, in each of the world’s dioceses, on the same day, for Benedict XVI. Fill the remaining Cathedrals, then get to Rome and, together with Pope Francis, consecrate Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary per the exact instructions of the Mother of God. Enough with the shameful drama and sins and costly arrogance, enough with the worldly alliances and the sissified false mercy messages, enough with the blatant corruption which feeds the corruption of souls.

  • @annemarieelizabethrosevolo4366

    Pope Benedict's original decision to bring back the TLM is like adding "Rite" in the Church. What Pope Francis did was open a can of worms 🪱 in the process.

    Was his book already been published or was he threatened by Pope Francis not to release it?

    Robert, Ratzinger/Benedict needed to speak out against so many things that were contrary to the Faith that were being carried out by Francis and the Vatican, but the time for that was when such actions and papal documents came out, or at the every least, as part of final testimony before his death. To claim to be the Vicar of Christ, Ratzinger/Benedict is responsible for the souls and the very salvation of his flock and he had an obligation to protect the deposit of the Faith. Instead, Ratzinger/Benedict was completely silent regarding most of the evil coming from the very top leadership of the Church, but found the time to regularly speak on less weighty matters. It all leads me to conclude that Ratzinger/Benedict is exactly what he told is he always was and remained to his dying days - a progressive, which means a modernist. These are not my words, but Ratzinger/Benedict's, in his Last Testament with Peter Seewald, published in 2017. In that book length interview, Ratzinger/Benedict repudiates Scholasticism and states that he was and remains a progressive. Is there some reason we should not take Ratzinger/Benedict at his word? Will we now, only after his death, be subject to a steady stream of stories about what Benedict really thought? Do people not realize that Ratzinger/Benedict had an obligation to his flock to say these things while he was still alive (if he really believed them)?

  • @nmfd72
    @nmfd72 Před rokem +1

    The only divisisness that Pope Francis speaks of relative to the TLM came directly out of the Vatican itself so let's stop the nonsense.

  • @trumpvanempowertrump1013

    I think you have muddied the waters.

  • @penelopecarterdougherty8575

    Those people did not use the Latin Mass to worship, but as a weapon. I was born in a Catholic orphanage, educated through college as Catholic......took four years of Latin and LOVED the Latin Mass.....in its day. Francis had no choice. These people left him no choice. If Benedict was broken hearted, it was not because of Francis' decision, but of the inability of the Latin proponents to use the Mass in a proper way.

    • @KMF3
      @KMF3 Před rokem +1

      Your comment is absolutely nonsensical. It appears that even though you went to Latin Mass you understood nothing about it. Which unfortunately happens in all masses.
