- Power of Women honoree Gigi Hadid refuses to let negative naysayers dictate how she flexes her social media power and why. In fact, she feels it's her duty to use her platform for good.
“Be a voice for someone, support someone, encourage someone, tell someone how they inspire you," Hadid said. "We cannot let the negative comments, the bad energy, and false assumptions of us keep us from doing the good we know we can do with our platforms.”

The Rohingyans aren’t treated as humans should. These persecuted people are going through horrifically tough times. Everyone disregards that but proceeds to find reasons to hate/criticise. When someone like her does good, it’s never enough for some. Don’t let your hatred (or insecurities) blur out the actual good that deserves recognition. I think she did something very commendable. I’m glad she spoke about this to the world with her platform, I wish this was what being a celebrity looked like. I wish that this was what people wanted from celebrities and that they didn't just want negative gossip content. I wish the world cared more about important things.
