Pen Spring Shock Mod - FAST - FREE - EASY

Such an easy modification that can be done for free providing you have a drawer full of promotional pens like most of us do at home. If not free than very cheap at around $1 for a pack this mod will lower your rigs center of gravity, change its stance/appearance and ride height, giving you improved sidehilling and a more planted crawl. Be very careful to not damage the shock shafts when disassembling, shock pliers are recommended.

Some pen springs are smaller. Need 4mm i.d. springs. Our whatever your shock shaft diameter is.

Great vid. I swapped to Trx4 shocks on my Capra with the lightest springs Traxxas has. It has been a good mod. Next time we head out to Arizona i will hit you up so we can go crawl!!!🤘🤘🤘🤘

Got the same results with the Capra purple springs and haven't shock oil

Going the route of softer springs in general will definitely lower the ride height of any rig. The reason for some to choose adding pen springs vs swapping to softer springs is to lower CG without having a “sloppy” ride. The negative pressure of the mod keeps the ride tight vs the sloppy ride heavy rigs can get from softer and or shorter springs. Definitely worth mentioning though so thanks for the input!

I'm interested in doing the pins bring mod to my danshi ridgerock my first attempt was a failure because the stock Springs of the ridge Rock we're so strong that it simply compressed the Pins Springs that I put inside they were pretty hefty but short what's your advice as far as finding a good dip pen spring
