Phrasal verbs are very common in spoken English, especially in more informal contexts. They are made up of a verb and a particle or, sometimes, two particles. The particle often changes the meaning of the verb.
Ex: Take (original verb) becomes a phrasal verb when the particle "off" gets added at the end ,Take off (Phrasal verb) which has a totally different meaning from the meaning of the original verb
In this video I m trying my best to explain each and every phrasal verb in Sinhala, have included example sentences in Sinhala to give you an idea about how these are used in context, in real conversations.
*Write down all the new phrasal verbs you learn today in your vocabulary book
*create new sentences using each
*and review the same few times
MOST IMPORTANTLY start using these phrasal verbs in your daily conversations at school, at university ,at work or at home
Happy learning :-)

Coach please reply. (As soon as possible) මෙ වගෙ as දෙකයි soon, possible වගෙ වචන දෙකකුයි as දෙකට කලින් දාලා තියෙන වාක්ය මන් ගොඩක් දකිනවා. එකෙ තේරුම මොකද්ද coach.
My dear lovely teacher. Even though I know the language, I eagerly watch your interesting presentations. But important point, you never mentioned TEAR-OFF which is frequently used. You are not using it?
Hi! Thank you for taking time to watch my videos. The answer to your question is ,It's difficult to include all the phrasal verbs out there in a 30 minutes long video.
@@EnglishCoachDilhara It should be "30 minute long video" not 30 minutes. Please refer and rectify the mistake.
Dear crush congrats!!!
Miss if we will try to speak in english today, how do we start??
Thank you teacher ❤
Can you give a pdf
Hey dilhara i have a question about 6th example calm down. Here you mention sat down- sat down is past tens. But it use with other phrasal verb calm myself down. Question about calm myself down. Why it not be calmed myself down ???
Hi! I hope you 're referring to the example sentence for the verb "calm down". The reason is what you should use following the preposition "to" is the "infinitive" . Just like in 👉 "I wanted to become a teacher" ✅
You can't say "I wanted to became a teacher"❌
@@EnglishCoachDilhara thank you Dilhara🙏. Relative clause ganath vedio ekek karanna plz
Hi there! As a Tamil, I can kill two birds with one stone. I can learn English as well as Sinhala

3. You act out this lesson very properly
I love you so much akki
You are very beautiful English teacher ❤❤❤❤❤

Put away=Respective place
වාක්ය ටිකක් හිමින් කියන්න ..❤️❤️
Hey! sure Will do ! Thank you !
If I say I tie the hair, and tie up the hair what is the difference please ?
There's not much of a difference between two options,
but in spoken English ,"tie up" is the most popular and the most commonly used verb (phrasal verb) to mean the same
you have below alternatives as well
-Tie your hair up
-Tie your hair back
-Tie your hair in a ponytail/a knot
@@EnglishCoachDilharaSo beautiful❤❤
There is another meaning of "take off". Eg - We say the bus took off. It means the bus left or departed.
Akke oyage fb page eke nama mokakda
it's as same as the channel name, English Coach Dilhara
Teacher thawa tikak therum karanna past tense wala theruma mokadda 😢😢

Hi dear ! If you need to become fluent in a language (English) you should listen(at least when you're watching videos ) and speak more, just knowing meanings in Sinhala won't help, English walata sawan denna wadi kalayak yomu karanna..I am happy to have you here..💌
