My very first car was an 84 Old Cutlass Supreme, a down grade from the Hurst, but have been in love with the G-Body Olds Cutlass since. That was 21 years ago.
No Blemishes do I see! Keep posting these great videos of your automobiles! Nice to see some of the oldies and your enthusiasm to show them to us. Love your casual dress code and like-able smile. Cheers! Happy New Year 2019.
Keith Brown thanks for the love! We appreciate it! Happy New Year to you, as well!
wow that's a cool car. there was one of these hurst olds by my old place and I would walk by it everday and drool over it
Amazing this survived. I my goody was an 81 Monte Carlo and I loved the Olds.
Most beautiful cars ever made. Had an '84.
They looked like top of the line chariots to a 13 year old kid like me back then. Great sense of humor talking about drag racing the supra.Funny stuff man .
omg, my 70 yr old dad still has his that he bought new way back in the day and i love it! I think it's a 84 but it might be a 83 but it looks just like this car in every way except it's black on silver. 59000 miles on 307ho v8 with 4 tiny rock chips, not perfect showroom condition but still awesome!
Thats Awesome! you are correct, the '83 was Black on Silver and sounds like your Dads its quite the survivor. If its ever in the Washington DC area, come by and show us. We'd love to see it!
Love this car..my first car was a 442..beautiful fast cars
The only way to make them fast was to change the powertrain 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾but they were nice cars I got a 84 olds 2door with a 350 olds engine and 350 trans and a posi trac rear with 373 gear ratio in it and it has all the power I need💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
I owned one..so much fun driving down the beach with the tees off in St. Augustine Florida
I absolutely love these cars
Hurst/Olds are NOT 442s. Common error.
Ton, youre a trip dude.Menthol Tips really c'mon .Those are for the 4am timeframe and all the recrceationals have run out youre down to booze!!! Take it ya been there!!! Anyways as always luv YOURE style on these. Oh yeah knock off on the Menthol Tips , ok, none of us getting any younger and for those in the know , KNOW exactly what ai mean. Thank ya'll stay safe out there
I seriously need this
Flemings Ultimate Garage... Can you provide a ballpark number on mileage and asking price...
Milage on the car is 72,540. It is $28,990 and that includes a 1 Year Warranty. If you contact us on site a salesperson would give you more details and could negotiate price.
Pretty car, but that thing is a slug on the road...would go for a Grand National esp. if he's asking nearly 30k for this car.
I'm obsessed with G body's for cheap price ranged. But best of the best are a 84 CUTLASS HURST OLDS, 87 OLDSMOBILE CUTLASS 442, 1987 GRAND NATIONAL GNX, AND NORMWL GRWND NATIONALS.
I had a 1983 olds cutlass supreme I miss that car I had it fixed up chrome cragar SS rims white letter Goodyear's still wish I had it .
This is my favorite cutlass! 442 Hurst!💪🏼👍🏼....alot of people would put a ls motor in this i would leave it the way it is....maybe put some billet wheels on it but this is very nice 👍🏼
Yeah!!!! That ls is a great engine but I would put an 350 or a 455 olds v8 in it.
@@stevenallen6245 If it wasn't all original, I think we'd throw a 455 in it too!
Yes but it's rare and original.. I wouldn't touch a thing...
Put a 455 in a bs Cutlass supreme
I bought one in Oct 1984 for 16,200. I live in AL. Dealer in AL received 3 from South Dakota. Mine had every option available. Including power everything, factory air shocks in rear, and an engine block heater. Would bark the tires from 1st to 2nd gear, but was a lead sled through the mid range. It had 3.73 rear gears with overdrive trans. Had it wide open one time on interstate when a corvette and 280Z passed me like I was sitting still. Speedo pegged at 110. I sold it at 75,000 miles for 7,500 in 1990. Sometimes, I wish I would have kept it.
So I know the Vette would eat your lunch but a 280Z spanked on you too? Was that right? Should've swapped the Vette motor in or just garaged it. Then again I'm young and dumb, cool car tho
Beautiful example of vintage Detroit Iron!
Nope...say that when referring to late 60's, early 70's cars....this car gets a little love for it's g-body club membership but its the c-lister...the monte carlo ss has maybe a slight advantage but the same pathetic power output pretty much....the grand national of course is another story altogether....
DREAM CAR! I WILL HAVE ONE!!!!
This is a 1984 Hurst/Olds............ "Not" a 4-4-2 !!
Very clean looking car, for the year. The Paint scheme, with it's beautifully placed stripes along with that Beautiful Hood Scoop & Rear Deck Spoiler & Chrome Olds Wheels are what makes this Car on the Outside scream "Get Up & Go". As well as in the interior, in my own Opinion the Best Interior in all of the G-Body Series, Hands Down. Yes, Better than the Monte Carlo & Better than the Beloved Buick Grand National. From the well placed Rally Gauges to those Beautiful Very Comfortable Bucket Seats, as well as Those Awesome Hurst/Lighting Rods. The 1984 Hurst/Olds is a Very Attractive looking car, even though I do prefer the 1983 Hurst/Olds over the 84'. They are Attractive, but that's it.
Let's be Real, the 1983 along with the 1984 Hurst/Olds were Sleds, with that Big Old Monster 307c.i. rated @185 H.P. on a Good Day. Ifou can call a Car that can perform a Mid to Low 18 seconds in the 1/4 Mile E.T. ........Quick !!
You must be a Salesman, a Very Very Funny Salesman !!
Hope that Car comes with the Optional Knee High Rubber Boots !!
Good Day !!
I had a 1985 Cutlass with the 140hp version of the 307. It was painfully slow. Traded it in for a used 1988 Beretta GT in 1993. It felt like a rocket compared to my Cutlass. I then found a Hurst Olds on a used dealership lot. I took it for a test drive, and was less than impressed. A cool looking car, but power wise slow.
@@mchambers8366 about 10 years ago I had an 1989 Trans AM GTA. I was looking to trade it, and I had a chance to trade it for an 84 Cutlass that had a somewhat built 403 in it. Car moved pretty well. Wish I would have traded!
Man I love this guy! I would by a car from him. Best sales pitch ever! Hilarious street race .
To answer people questioning why olds didnt install a 350ci engine in these cars. Oldsmobile stopped making there 350ci engine in 1980. They switched the 350 production to making the 350 diesel engines. So the 307 was the only gas v8 engine oldsmobile produced at the time. Oldsmobile built there own engines which shared no parts and had no commonality with the small block chevy.
Through much of the 80's, the 305 became General Motors' most common V8, followed closely by Oldsmobile's 307. I just saw 1985 IROC 305. Not much power. IMO it don't really matter that much. This car is cool looking. 80s wasn't a power thing. Neither were the 60s or 70s compared with today. Today 650 HP. Power isn't needed for around town. Looks are what is needed. Put 4:88 gears in. That will help.
These were way more show than go, but I still love them. The torque rocking would happen with any big car with a V8.
But it was slow. It could be out ran by a Pontiac Bonneville with a 3.8 engine. I saw it! It was very close
@@anthony8362 The 307 was not a heavy breather. Good torque just off idle but she ran out of steam real quick.
If I bought this car,,even know it’s all original, I would still do a LS3 swap, it looks so much better than a lot of cars today, and I would want it to perform like Mustangs and Camaros do today!
Having the original drive train is nice if you're OK with 180 HP and dont mind mid 15 sec quarter mile times. I got an 86 442 in 1996 with a '68 Olds 350 and over a 2 year period, got it to where it could run 12.60s with slicks and open headers. Highway driving is a little noisy with a turbo 350 and 3.73 but it's a hell of a lot more fun than with that stock 307. Would it be worth more with the stock drive train? Sure. But Ive had a hell of a lot of fun with it on the street and bracket racing at the track for 24 years. If I wanted to buy something 25 years ago to go up in value and sell it, I would have bought silver dollars or something.
Where did you find this gem!!!
The car is an 84 Hurst/Olds ,Rare that it has roll down windows.
My dad just got an 83 all original. In Baton Rouge Louisiana. So that’s atleast one here for anyone wondering.
My favorite one is the 74 Hurst olds pace car
Why Olds built this amazing car and put a boat anchor 307 in it is beyond me, GM had a few decent 350's at the time which would have made this Cutlass a killer car.
a 307 and 210 hp would be better than the 180hp
olds could at least keep up with the times with chevy Buick, etc
That Was Their Corporate Engine @ The Time, The Experimental Engine (Mainly Heads) That Went Into The Dark Vader Models, Only One Was Released To The Public, But The Engine In The 77-79 Cadillac Seville Had A Fuel Injected (TBI) 5.7L, Probably Would've Been Better, But It Was Never Put In A Oldsmobile That Was Sold To The Public...Somebody Dropped The Ball
GM had so many different engines in the 80's there definitely had to be something else they could have used, buddy of mine has a bone stock 83 Regal with an L48 from a Vette in it and it goes pretty damn good for what it is, imagine if you could get an L82 in them... Oh GM what could have been so great you made a disappointment.
You're Forgetting That GM Struggled With Making Power & Passing The Emission Requirements, The 5.L HO Engines W/O The Emission Components & A Pre 1980 Distributor & Carburator Had A Pretty Good Amount Of Power
I agree, I had this very same car, got waxed by a Monte Carlo SS which I believe had the 350 in it. Certainly was a good looking car and got lot's of attention. Never understood why a 307 was put in it. As many other car's I have owned, wish I still had it.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't this car come with a stall torque converter ?
The car is amazing and in mint condition. How can you find those cars?
He’s smoking in my Hurst.
Can you get another one between 83 to 87 V8 no convertible will consider a t-top
This has to be rarer and more desirable than a Buick Grand National, which is on the same body since the Grand National seems to be talked about more.
The Pontiac 2+2 is the rarest Gbody of them all, alot of people overlook those. The Buick GN was the fastest of them all hence the popularity.
They talk about the Grand National more because it is three times faster than this pig this car will do about a 17 second quarter mile I know some mail trucks that are faster
Why these didn't come at least with a 350 engine....they would've sold 400,000 thousand of them....
I Had An 84 CS Brougham T Tops Loved That Car, But The V6 Motors Were Junk. Problems With The Oil Pumps.
The Pontiac 2+2 is the rarest Gbody of them all, alot of people overlook those. The Buick GN was the fastest of them all hence the popularity. The Olds Hurst was the sexiest but most could only afford the Monte Carlo Ss
My uncle has one he bought it new in 84' but I think my uncle car got the bad end of the deal the first six months he had it he had to have it worked on cuz of the trans wouldn't shift, and not denying it has been a good car and he's took it to Florida a couple of times but he still has it too this day and the poor car has 7 inches of dust and crap on it ,it's very sad to see , it's always been my dream car to own ! And also the cars radio has never worked one day in it's whole existence
I think these had 200 4-R transmissions. I put a TH350 in one advised guy against it but nothing do him....so it got a 350....
Not a 442,a hurst.86 and 87 were 442's,not hursts.Silly thing but it does matter to collectors. And yes-it's the same car with an inverted paint scheme to tell the difference(other then the logo on the door.Loved these because of those silly lightening rod shifters, lol
🏆
How much would you sell this one for ?

To get the kind of power your talking about to out run a turbo Supra you have to change the engine transmission and rear end. Because that was a 17 second car all day. By buddy had one same year and color and got out ran by chevy S10 pick up truck with a 4.3
Sorry, but that build sheet you all wet about ? Those are RPO codes. Regular Production Options.
Why does he keep saying 1985 .
Its a olds 1984 hurst.
I just bought a hurts cutlass today for 1500 I think I came up
HOW MUCH??!
I had one in 1988 and totaled it so you can take that off the list. My dad was right shoulda bought a truck
Yes....a fucking awesome car! The 1980's G-Body cars are all awesome! But as cool as that Olds 442 is I would have to opt for the Buick GN given the choice. Something about a heavy GM car with a V6 given the title of fastest production American car of the day.
Those shifters would’ve been PERFECT in the Buick GN that’s sitting behind the 1984 Hurst Olds I always wanted to put a set of those in my GN but then I had kids and had to get rid of it 😖😢🤬
Buyer info .....has T34 tranny , 307 cu. in. motor, 4 speed auto, 4bbl. carb., dual exhaust. Biggest discouragement about this generation is they loaded them down w/ anti- pollution devices. Not a fast off the line car. But a beautiful " Sunday driver". T34 tranny needs replacement @ 100K miles . Still a nice rare clean car. 1986 Hurst olds 442 is the 1 you really want.....
Thank you for sharing this info. I have the choice between these two exact cars right now as a trade for my 75 lesabre convertible. Both ttops. I was wondering which of the two are better overall 👍🏻🙏🏻
The park that for our own reasons.
How much for it
Hey Keith, give us a call at 301-816-1000 and we will help you find one just like it!
My neighbor has a 9/10 85 Oldsmobile 442. What are they worth today? Over 10k I am sure. Maybe more with 68k miles.
One just sold for $45,000 in Westport Massachusetts with a documented 391 miles
That is a RPO sticker, not a build sheet.
Beautiful car but back in the day my 87 GT 5.0 destroyed one of these paticuler car's. They were beautiful car's love the look they just were screaming I need power.lol But beautiful car I buy one.
Yeah the early 80s GM 5.0s were awful (whether it was the 305 or the Olds 307) esp. with an automatic. I owned a 83 Trans AM, and it was a sharp car, but slow as hell. I had a guy with a late 70s Tbird out run me, it was that bad! My next car was an 87 Mustang LX 5.0 with a Hurst 5 speed, with headers and straight pipes, and although it wasn't as pretty as my TA, the acceleration in that car was like going from night to day.
@@jeffjackson9679 Yah I have a 92 aniversrey Camero Z28 that I bought brand new ordered it and still own the car T TOPS well the car had 235hp and I thought it was fast and fast forward to today and my Shelby gt500 supersnake is almost 800 wheel straight from Shelby American and a 08 gt500 with about the same power and it's crazy how far car's have improved
I know.. they put the 8.5 rear end in this car they should have put a bigger engine with more power.. especially the 83 Hurst Olds 15th anniversary addition.. I mean come on
I own one
i got to pull lightning rods once...
Overdrive autocorrect original Fleming ultimate white letter tires wings T tops heavily authentic UPC code all original build sheeting very well kept luxury features 442 factory gauges
Hood looks after market
I am very interested when can we talk talk pls
Wow... Great car, man.
But YOU BLEW IT by allowing that MUCH GREATER Buick Regal Gran National to be in the near background, 'drowning out' the appeal of this Cutlass...
Dont think so, Car sold about 3 days after the video came out and the Buick sold as well!
I'm just going to plug my channel.
just by this car, take out the original and performance rebuild the 200r4, AND replace the 307 with an Oldsmobile performance 350 or 425 with a set of headers....
Ill take the Buick behind it.
Love the car..hardly thrilling in performance like this guy says...Drinks gas like a 500 HP car but performance of a 200 hp car...I owned a 442..
It's 1984 Hurst Olds, not 1985 442....
Will you take a 8.0000 for that car
The muscle car of the distinguished gentleman…. Others drove a Chevelle …
absolutely no reason why they cant make cars like this again..instead they are making throw away cars that last five years if lucky
Only if they came back with an updated engine and the same body style with sum of today's interior... GM would make a killing!!!!
I'm like was that car ever driven a all.
The smog pump won't slow this car down. That 305 already took care of that! Read any car magazine or car message board...someone will ask about increasing the performance of their 305. The answer always starts the same....pull the 305 and throw it in the trash!
Pros: looks awesome, Gbody ttops two tone nice wheels.
Cons drinks gas eats oil no horsepower a dog.
I do miss my 87 442 tho. Id take it back anyday
Really they were a whopping 180hp really my supersnake has 4 times the power
@@adamcosta4610 yah it was compared to today's car's my gt500 or my supersnake has 4times the power of the Hurst Olds and to be honest if you don't respect the power today in modern cars like my Shelbys your wrecking the car or getting killed
@@anthonylaudano9751 100% accurate. I have a repowered 83 Hurst/Olds , those 307s are total pigs lol.
@@adamcosta4610 There definitely a great looking car and I wouldn't mind adding one to my car collection
1970 Olds four fourty two? That's not how it's said. It's Olds 4 4 2. And it's a Hurst/Olds. NOT a 4 4 2. 4 4 2's weren't made in that particular G body style until 1985 (85, 86, & 87)
180 hp
Butiufull car $10.000 cash in hand??? Let
Me know friend;
Come on man....those cars had no power. A modern day 4 cylinder could blow that thing away! N I don't ever see those cars bringing 50- 70 tho. Only good thing bout it is I looks good
It STILL NOT MY OLD COLOR ? THE COLOR WAS A BLUE 13 YEAR OIL LEAK IN PA !
Never a fan of the 442's / Hurst's. I preferred the regular Olds Cutlass. If I wanted a fast muscle car I went to Chevy, Pontiac, Ford, Dodge Plymouth.
NOT A 442.
Nothing against this guy but it kid of bothered me when he said these will be the 60 to 70K cars one day this is why the car hobby is ruined no one can afford them anymore which is sad
0 to 60 in 10seconds wow really
Put a chrome air cleaner lid on a crappy "fuel saving" 307 and now you have a muscle car folks. They look nice but slower than shit sliding uphill
3 shifter it’s to much for one driver
Thats cool, you could always just leave it in drive and not have to worry if the others are too much
It’s not original because you own it.
Has not a clue
Woh! Hold your 6 and think twice before you engage this car's green card on a race with a 900 hp Supra... lol
I mean, this Hurst Olds is a pretty cool car but only produce 180 hp ;)
Not a 442
Was interested until I saw the car to the right of the Pontiac
The Grand National! I know, I thought the same thing! Greatest GM G-body ever!
$50-60,000 for a classic with 180 horsepower, HaHa!😆
That’s all 80’s G body’s. The gas crisis killed muscle cars. I have no idea why people even think the 80’s had any because it didn’t. They were sporty, not muscle. Most of them around here have already had there motors swapped. Technology and 4 banger turbo cars of today would smoke stock cars from the muscle era now.
The 80s were the era of the 5.0L V-8s in everything. They were reliable and had enough power to take on the Tercels or Dodge Omnis of the era. But were by no means powerhouses.
@@MurdamittenG That's why everybody was putting the 70s motors in those.
The build sheet Tony is incorrect and they didn’t come taped to the under deck lid. Want to know how I know? I built them at Oldsmobile. That sheet which would be a manifest sheet was generated at Fisher Body. Also, we ordered ours, built ours from chassis to dealer prep, and still have it to this day. Nobody was privy to the manifest build sheet, like the sad example this car has and it would never be taped. There are 3 sheets and only two of the sheets could a person obtain them if they were lucky enough because the dealer usually threw them away. I have the most factory documented ‘83 H/O and probably of any car and I’m the only documented person to build his car from both factories Fisher body and Oldsmobile with pics to prove.
