    Just got a massage today, they used a car buffer to warm me up. I enjoyed it, will buy one for home use and I know what I like, been training for 20 yrs, I liked this.

    Eddie Hall, one of the strongest men in the world, uses one. I'd trust him over this Dr.; Eddie basically has a PhD in growing muscles and recovering.

    lol it's hilarious listening to "expert" advice from someone who is not in the loop. Turns out "recreational athletes" tend to be the best test subjects for the next "big thing" since they are willing to try new things.

  • @dario6
    @dario6 Před 6 lety +19

    Somebody inform Dr. Aimee Diaz that these are NOT recreational athletes. Some of the athletes are competitor Olympic Weightlifters and respectable coaches. Also, she shows a Theragun which is basically a Jigsaw with a ball instead. I know because I built my own....but we are not doctors so what do we know...

    Got to love a n arrogant doctor. It helps w my RA. And for as much as doctors charge me just to walk in the door to get help. It would make sense they would deter you from buying something that’s not on their shelves

    Any time you have a niche product you can charge much more for it. Those percussive massagers are the same thing as a jig saw except 10x more expensive with a lower power motor.

    A physical therapist doesn’t really have much of a say when it comes to elite athletes though. I know of multiple CSCS qualified specialists who recommend a car buffer massage to relieve facial tissue. It’s the same affect as a foam roller, but at a much higher frequency.

    I've worked in the Automotive world for almost 30 yrs. A friend in an auto detailing shop showed me this trick about 25 year's ago...so it's not a new idea.
    I've used these tools on vehicles and people for many years and I'm also a registered massage therapist. I've had many different orbital polishers over the years and some definitely work better than others for massage and detailing.

      I'm training to become a massage therapist myself, so I'm curious if you're allowed to treat patients with these tools once your licensed. Would you happen to know?

    • @iam1smiley1
      @iam1smiley1 Před 6 lety

      I've never seen anyone use these professionally. If I had someone who wanted to try it...sure. I thought it would be good for doing 15 min chair massages in a mall/airport.

    • @Yoshieatsrice
      @Yoshieatsrice Před 6 lety

      Yeah, I thought I'd make for a great quick massage. I'll probably just use this on my self until more info on client use comes out, don't wanna risk losing my license. Thanks for the info!

      @@Yoshieatsrice good question about using them professionally....I've always just used these on friends and family. I could see using these machines in massage chairs in a public setting. I really can't find a way to hurt myself with one, just watch really long hair maybe.

    LOL my dad was an auto body guy and swore by this for decades. I would ask an engineer these question before I would ask a doctor. Like the Theragun for example. All a Theragun is a JigSaw. You can make a better and cheaper "Theragun" yourself. Someone just took cheap Chinese parts and said it was something special

    That a cheaper option than the jeanie rub $180, or percussion guns. High end go $300-600 low end $75.
    Jeanie rub is what chiropractors use, and say better than persuasion, which can inflame more and cause nerve pain when used wrong.
