I've been listening to Born On The Bayou all my life. But only just now did I realize how incredibly funky it is and how astoundingly fat the guitar sound is.
I feel so old, but happy to be the 90's kid in the same time. I was growing up with these songs. We played "Right here, right now" on my prom 13 yrs ago. Happy anniversary 🌹
I was born in 1981 and graduated in 1999. As much as I certainly don't feel 42 years old, I am glad to have lived in the years that I did. Because I was an 80s baby/ kid and it was awesome! And then I was a teenager in the 90s... amazing!! And I wouldn't give it up for anything! Kids these days have no idea what they missed out on.
I remember downloading Rockerfeller Skank on Napster in the summer of 1998, and listened to it on repeat until I got my paycheck, when I went to the record store and picked up a copy of YCALWB. This was a formative album for me. This really takes me back to a different time and helps me get through the day of mind-numbing office work. Thanks, Norman.
Fatboy Slim I fuckin love you. Greetings from BsAs Argentina, I am 27 years old and my childhood was listening to your music without knowing who you were, when I was older I got to know all your music and I loved it. You marked my life for good bro, I am currently an artist and you were a great influence on me, I am very grateful.
My Dad raised me with your music. Now he's gone, but your music bridges a gap that takes me back to the joy of sharing listening to these tunes with him. Thank you for another mix for me to add to my long-runs, the soundtrack of the journey to making my name reach the heavens so my Dad can see everything I've accomplished in his stead
man i dont need to revist nothing lol that bass never stopped in my place go ask my neighbors they make all the noise complaints lol it never died man doesnt need a new life the og one is just fine lol
Mr. Cook has had his finger on the pulse of music for a long time now...and it shows...and I think will continue to show for a very long time. A proper artisan of the Zeitgeist.
I was about 6 years old when this album came out and my older neighbor friend was able to get this album because most of the songs were fine. I listened to the album and I fell in love with Fatboy every since.
Heard this mix when it was live on 6 Music on a drive back from the Lake District and it was just the best thing ever. Will always keep coming back to it when I need a smile. So damn good xxx
I was unfortunately way too young to experience the 90s rave scene but Norman's music is absolutely timeless, gives my heartbeat a surge whenever I hear the original at once of his concerts, or when the dnb remixes of it are dropped at one of the many dnb events I go to, BRING ON NOVEMBER, 3 DAYS OF FATBOY SLIM!
I was born in the 90s Fatboy's music was freaking huge. Not everywhere but in all the right places. In highschool i searched for more of his stuff he is the best, makes DJs today look like lazy, uninspired Apple laptop holding monkeys. During the second quarantine i was dancing everyday to gangster tripping. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hey, FAT, gone with you over 25 years, step by step through bad times, hard times, strange feelings in darkness - but this songs bring my brain forever up in good times!
This remix/reorchestration weaves a musical and narative tapestry that every pair of ears should hear, totally contemporary story telling using amazing dj'd music instead of paragraphs to tell the tale of what is what!
drving neighbors nuts never gets old lol this mix hella gets my sub off lol to bad the neighbors dont like it shaking their windows lol and it will wake them up wither they like it or not lol
Still gives me goosebumps evertime I hear the start of right here right now.. 😝 Good luck at Glastonbury this weekend gutted I'm missing you headline the park stage.. Seen u there the last 2 times... pyramid next 🙏
Love this mix, used to have it on BBC sounds all the time but it's not there now. Get it uploaded to Spotify please. Can't wait to see the legend again on Saturday in Glasgow 🕺🕺🎶🎶🎶😁👌🍻
Twenty-five years ago we partied (for MONTHS) to YCALWB. Now this is my "Get Your Head in the Game, Drive to Work" music. I feel very grateful and a little bit like I should apologize to Fatboy Slim. :)
Your music was poweful enough to motivate a person move out thier home country for LDN, UK. The moment of seeing your gig in UK first time after I moved in the UK and you dropped this was unforgettable moment.
Well I'm 4 1/2 minutes in and I can finally say that we've reached consolation for the 10th anniversary edition being unavailable outside of its discontinued CD format.
Legend ! Thanks for all those moments ! Past and future ones ! Growned up with those tunes, 90 s is a special period for anybody who travelled trough it and made it to the other side !
I recall relentlessly playing the Rockafeller Skank single while playing GTA1. I made sure I bought You've Come A Long Way, Baby as a result. The album of my teenage years and the reason I have two Roland TB3s (can't afford an original TB303).
I love the energy of the mix that makes me want to get up and dance just before it cuts to a nice mellow mix that let's me sit and rest my old aching bones lol happy 25th anniversary! And thank you for being the soundtrack for so many memories over the years! ❤😊🎉
This album was out while I was at school still, wish I was a wee bit older to have properly experienced the 90s. This album was a definite soundtrack to my last years of school
The way she speaks with the aristocratic accent, talking about people being hungry and suffering. fatboy slim is a genius to portrait the twist of reality. frikin genius but never unexpected ❤️🔥✨️✨️👏
When I was young, my first CD player was for playing "Homework" from Daft Punk, "Surrender" from Chemical Brothers and "You've Come a Long Way, Baby" from Fatboy Slim. Daft Punk is not there anymore and their music was not the same at the end... But at least Fatboy Slim and Chemical Brothers still rocks ! About rock, I would have loved to be at your live at Red Rock, nothing planned to redo such a thing one day ?
My husband and I have so much in common! Loving your music is the most important thing to be together! Always praise you like I should~~~ love you my favorite and only one DJ!
I've been listening to Born On The Bayou all my life. But only just now did I realize how incredibly funky it is and how astoundingly fat the guitar sound is.

Right here right is now timeless piece. FATBOY SLIM was SO AHEAD OF HIS TIME. #1 why try harder

I think we played something by Mozart🥸☹️😩
This is cool way to reintroduce your music to new fans. Classic tracks reworked, chopped and screwed.

Thanks, Norman.
But Napster started in 1999… 🤨
Stop pretending you paid for it lol
jeez
Thank you for everything, Norman. It has been a pleasure and an honor to have lived in the same timeline as the music you produced. Cheers.
I'm getting Half-Life flashbacks. I listened to this album on repeat while playing the game :)

Fat Greta Slim is awesome!
How dare you!? SHE SHOULD BE BACK AT SCHOOL!

58 dude , old enough to know better , young enough to do it again .
Can't fathom that it's been 25 years. This mix rocks!
My Dad raised me with your music. Now he's gone, but your music bridges a gap that takes me back to the joy of sharing listening to these tunes with him. I'd kill to have some of these mixes as solo tracks I can listen to on repeat. The Slim Shady mix is hilarious.
Hearing the original tracks gradually shift into the mix we know and love is absolutely amazing.

Uma verdadeira aula de mixagem, sample, produção.. Uma viagem pela música guiada por Fatboy Slim. LEGEND!
I recall relentlessly playing the Rockafeller Skank single while playing GTA1. I made sure I bought You've Come A Long Way, Baby as a result. The album of my teenage years and the reason I have two Roland TB3s (can't afford an original TB303).
Norman helped me discover house in the 80s. I will always be in his debt.
A couple of my most memorable nights out have been shows with the Fatboy himself.
A beautiful version of a classic album. Love it!
And the Greta speech at the beginning is perfect.
❤🔥🙏
You’ve come a long way baby I should praise you like I should ❤❤❤❤🙂🙂🙂🙂
