Fascinating insights into Dennis Kelly's brilliant, moving play. Congratulations to the Royal Court for putting it on, Lindsey Turner for bringing it to the stage, and Carey Mulligan for giving it a voice. It was quite possibly the performance of a lifetime. So interesting that she turned out to be 100% attuned from the start to the character Dennis had written. The critique of men and power pervades the play, even though it is a woman's story; I am impressed at the way Dennis Kelly both acknowledges it as the cause of the tragedy while dismissing it as the central subject. I would have liked to have talked more about this in my review but didn't want to give away the shock of the ending.
