Aiguille Dibona - Face Sud Classique

- A long held ambition to climb the classic "Face Sud Classique" aka "Voie Berthet/Boell/Stofer" (with the odd harder variation) on the mighty Aiguille Dibona 3131m. First climbed by Angelo Dibona in 1913 and although of modest height, the Dibona has inspired generations of climbers and is surely one of the most beautiful and spectacular mountains in Europe! :-)

What glorious memories this video brought back to me! I did this route just before my fortieth birthday in 1990 with a chum of mine while I was on leave from Saudi Arabia. Not difficult, but I remember it as possibly the most enjoyable day I have ever had in mountains, Many thanks for evoking such memories.

WyeExplorer Actually Team Pinkies is an obscure reference to when the boys and I stayed overnight (a long story!) at the Kandersteg International Scout Centre on an Alps trip a couple of years ago. The place was run by a load of scout leaders all wearing pink t-shirts and were called the Team Pinkies, which tickled us pink, so hence the group name which we adopted..... ;-) Cheers Dave

+jusmeig Thanks a million again for taking the time to post your kind words! I think it had an alpine grade of Difficile, about 14 or so pitches of superb climbing and all the belays were equipped. Well worth making a trip for and the Soreiller hut is superb too... :-) Cheers Dave

David Linnett I climbed Madier in 2001 - without the "straightening", so I still "enjoyed" a station with very ancient slings.
