Sounds great!! Yes, so I am no longer in Sydney
I had to head back to the USA middle of 2021, but I’d say check out the NSW health Twitter feed for Covid updates or other states like QLD or VIC for Queensland or Victoria
Now that they are opening up more I’d expect Covid cases to rise like many other countries who are open! BUT I also believe their vaccination rate is high for the size of their population so that should help!! In my opinion, not popular with everyone, but I think that Australia took a very safe approach to Covid and did what they had to do for the overall health of their citizens.

Coming from Melbourne and living in Sydney I will admit if your only going to live in one city Sydney is likely the best choice just beating out on Melbourne .. Sydney has the weather, beaches, harbour, national parks and several world famous sites.. on the other hand if your someone that puts culture above those things and like the idea of somewhere that that is a little bit cheaper and possibly a little bit friendlier than Melbourne probably is the go.

  • @tacitdionysus3220
    @tacitdionysus3220 Pƙed 2 lety +3

Yeah, I get that, and it's a good clip for its purpose. It's just a pity few go west of the salt spray, let alone the 'latte line'. The geographic centre of Sydney is actually around Auburn; so well west of the CBD and way beyond the Inner West hipsters. Beaches and harbour views are an aberration for the affluent and the upwardly aspirational. It's certainly alluring, but atypical for the majority of the population that forms Sydney's real economic power and cultural soul. Maybe it's just me. When I travel or work overseas I certainly take in the 'sights', but also love finding ordinary little towns, random suburbs and their people that share so much more about the real culture of a place..

Hey Mate! One needs to follow the visa rules which means you need to leave by the last day, but a quick hack should be to fly to New Zealand or Indonesia and come back on a tourist visa for a bit! It all depends on your countries visa agreements with AU! Where are you from? Alternatively, doing 3 months of farm work / hospitality work right away will give you a 2nd year working holiday visa which is a great option and then you will have 21 months to travel a round and find other jobs after your farm work and application for year two visa!! If you want to work in Australia, DO NOT COME ON A TOURIST VISA!

here are a few things the people of the USA should know before you come down to Australia.
    1. leave your attitude along with your guns at the departure lounge.
    2. don't panic! it will be there waiting for you when you get back, nobody wants it.
    3. you cannot buy, nor carry a gun over here, Australia is not the wild west as it is in the USA.
    4. enjoy the sites the food and the different cultures.
    5. we have a culture, we have, song, dance and food and we are proud of it.
    6. The USA has Levi jeans, McDonalds, guns, bombs and mass shootings..
    7. Don't be too hard on your own ignorance, after all it's what makes America great!
    8. take lots of photos, buy the occasional souvenir.
    9. when you get back to the US "the home of the brave and the free," pick up your gun and your attitude, you will notice it is still there intact as you left it. Show your friends the photos and tell them you had a nice time. Oh, and don't forget to tell your friends you experienced real freedom for the first time in your life not having to carry a gun!

Sydney's good for a brief holiday, but you wouldn't want to live there.

5.5 million people disagree about not wanting to live there so each to his own I guess. Plenty of great places elsewhere in Aus too.

100% there are many great places out there to live, but for working holiday If someone wants a good city experience & beach together SYDNEY is my recommendation!! If they have more time to live places than you’re right there is so so much to explore and experience! Thx for the comment!!
