Yes, Sydney is fabulous, but any traveller who doesn't make it to the west coast is missing out on something very special.
Agreed!! AU is a big country!! And WA has some hidden gems!!
Yes its emperor mgowans western empire
@@DontWonderExplore have you been?
True!
Sydney is class. I done my WHV there back in 2016 and have zero regrets at all from choosing to live in Sydney! Great combo of beachs, down town, clubs, bars, restaurants and stunning harbours! Plus its vibrant and easy to find work & socialise
Itâs a great experience for sure!
I highly recommend doing a bushwalk in Ku-ring-Gai Chase National Park late winter/early spring for the spectacular display of wildflowers.
Yes would agree! Unfortunately, I did not get over there.
@@DontWonderExplore You were her for a YEAR and didn't explore!?!?!?!?!?!???
Lol wish Iâd seen more to be honest. The events of 2020 kind of slowed movement down a bit. Thankfully Theres always next time.
So good mate! Thanks for the tips! Beautiful city of Sydney.
Thanks mate! Yes what a beautiful city! Global Beaut! đŻđŻđŻ
Thanks for sharing. Some great drone footage too.
Happy to do so! & thank you.
Such a nice summary of all the reason I stood within Sydney during my working holiday time. Also some sweet footage packed built into the explanations, keep up the hustle!
Thanks man!! Appreciate it!!
Great video! Thank you for all the information! đ€© I've just got WHV, I can't wait to go!
Thank you!! & Congrats!! Enjoy the experience!
Yes ive heard it from my friend that sydney is one of the most beautiful place in Australia.
It has so much to offer!!
Hey man!! Thank you so much for the incredible video! I am coming down to aus in a couple of weeks with a Working Holiday visa. I have no plans whatsoever, but I can't wait to get down there and figure it all out :)
Of course!! Hope you found it informative and somewhat helpful with planning out your visit!!
From my experience itâs nice to do it 50/50âŠ.do your researchâŠ.have an idea of some options and then let the rest happen based off of who you meet and what opportunities come your way!! All the bestâŠhappy to answer any other questions that I can! Enjoy your time down under!!
â@@DontWonderExplore Thanks!! I have researched the past 2 years while waiting to get down there, so I have heaps of ideas of what I want to do!! :) I just want to get down there and get a feeling of where I would like to stay for a longer period of time. But you definitely convinced me on checking out Sydney! How do you find the covid situation at the moment? I've seen that the covid cases are climbing like crazy right now
Sounds great!! Yes, so I am no longer in SydneyâŠI had to head back to the USA middle of 2021, but Iâd say check out the NSW health Twitter feed for Covid updates or other states like QLD or VIC for Queensland or VictoriaâŠNow that they are opening up more Iâd expect Covid cases to rise like many other countries who are open! BUT I also believe their vaccination rate is high for the size of their population so that should help!! In my opinion, not popular with everyone, but I think that Australia took a very safe approach to Covid and did what they had to do for the overall health of their citizens.
@@DontWonderExplore we sure did. Over 95 % fully vaccinated and the cases barely rose when we opened up.
Beutiful sharing very beautiful place
Than you! Yes, a great place!!
Loved your video and I'm an Aussie
Thank you!
What a shame . You have missed so many amazing things here. Tasmania and Wester Australia. Top destinations. All those birds you mentioned i will see on my walk into work this morning just a short tram ride out of the city area.
Thx Sue!! Yes, the events of 2020 prevented my WA trip, but I do plan to visit in the future; I cant wait!! Abs Tasmania was also an almost trip but yeah 2020/2021 were hard for travelâŠas you know.
Epic video
Thank you sir!! Much appreciation for checking it out! Keep your channel going as well!!!!
Coming from Melbourne and living in Sydney I will admit if your only going to live in one city Sydney is likely the best choice just beating out on Melbourne .. Sydney has the weather, beaches, harbour, national parks and several world famous sites.. on the other hand if your someone that puts culture above those things and like the idea of somewhere that that is a little bit cheaper and possibly a little bit friendlier than Melbourne probably is the go.
Yeah, I get that, and it's a good clip for its purpose. It's just a pity few go west of the salt spray, let alone the 'latte line'. The geographic centre of Sydney is actually around Auburn; so well west of the CBD and way beyond the Inner West hipsters. Beaches and harbour views are an aberration for the affluent and the upwardly aspirational. It's certainly alluring, but atypical for the majority of the population that forms Sydney's real economic power and cultural soul. Maybe it's just me. When I travel or work overseas I certainly take in the 'sights', but also love finding ordinary little towns, random suburbs and their people that share so much more about the real culture of a place..
Yes, I would agree.
Hello watching from Philippines
Thanks! Enjoy.
I'm from Sydney and have never heard of it snowing in Melbourne.
Hey there! Interesting. If youâre referring to the â4 seasons in one dayâ comment itâs simply a reference to the weather being pretty unpredictable, which is what I experienced while visiting Melbs. Thanks for the comment!
@@DontWonderExplore
Yes that was it. It has snowed in Melbourne but this is extremely rare with usually around 30 years between these events and it never hangs around for very long. Higher areas outside Melbourne like Ballarat and Bendigo get a little snowfall almost every winter.
Thanks!!
It rarely snows in Melbourne and mostly in the moutains if that. Twice in my 50 years here.
Thx for your msg. Was going off of a locals info that I know. Appreciate your insight too!!
Thanks for the tips! đ Looking forward to visit Sydney. Visa got accepted and will be staying in Melbourne starting in February and hopefully move up to Sydney! Thanks! đ
Of course!! Anytime. Melbourne is also a great city!! Foodie, sports, etc.. only stayed there for a long weekend back in 2016.
Enjoy it!! So much to see!! Worth a trip out to WA, if you have time as well!! Almost made the trip myselfâŠNingaloo Reef. Perth up to Exmouth!
@@DontWonderExplore Oh, I do plenty-of-time! đ It's the working and holiday visa for one year in which I am extremely excited. Definitely saving these other new locations that you just provided to me. Thanks one again! *New Subscriber đđ
Yeah, and like I mentioned in the videoâŠif you have time on your sideâŠage !! Then Iâd stronger suggest doing that Tourism/Farm WorkâŠdepending on your WHV status and getting a second year!! Are you on the 462 or the other one (Forget the #âs as it was the one I wasnt onâŠ417 I believe.) ??
@@DontWonderExplore 462 Visa.. So, I'm 29 and my birthday is in 2 months, in which I'm leaving before I turn 30. Also, I love the idea to extend for a 2nd year, therefore I should be okay to re-applied before I turn 31 next year (You get the picture?... lol) đ Most likely I will be doing tourism because is something that I actually studied for, but would love to experience the farm work as well.
Can I DM you through insta.. I have a question regarding about the visa. If that okay with you?
Unless the changed the rules in the past year the latest you can arrive is before 31, which is what I didâŠcutting it the closest possible, lol.
Merci
Welcome!
Weird question but what was the hourly rate in Lululemon? Trying to figure out if retail can pay the bills for me lol
Donât recall exactly sorry. Obviously depends on your re-occurring bills but I lived off of savings for the first 6 weeks in AU then getting about 30-38 hours per week was able to cover my living expenses. **Some other friends would pair it with a 2nd job if you are a casual worker status or want more money to try and save!!
Hey mate, thanks for the tips!! I am planning to travel Australia this year, do you know how long the visa processing time for First working holiday visa is? I mean how long dit it took for you after you applied?? Thanks
Hey Rahmat! Thanks for the message & excited for you to be heading down under for some adventures!! Youâll have a great time!!
For the Visa! It took me 2 weeks to hear back after I submitted it, but I also had friends who heard back within a few days and some where it took longer so FROM what I know it depends on a few thingsâŠsome are what time of year you apply, how many people are also applying from your country at that time, etc.. BUT I havent heard of Anyone NOT getting itâŠit just might take a little longer for a result from the immigration office! More tips đŻ to come in future videos here so stay tuned!! I plan on providing more info about my time in Sydney, and also an interview with my German buddy who road tripped the country + some other friends who live in places like Brisbane! Donât hesitate to ask any more questions and Iâll help How I can!! Cheers mate!
@@DontWonderExplore Great man, canât wait for your new videos and thanks for the reply.
â€ïžđžđȘ
Of course man!!
Sydney is expensive and most people live far, far away from all the 'postcard' images of the place, which are pretty much reserved for the super rich. Try a different city, or even a regional town, or a job in the outback.
It doesnt snow in Melbourne dude, only the Alps..
Thanks Matt! Appreciate your insight.
Hey I will go to Sydney in a few days do you know some spots where I can find a job fastly?
Hello! It all depends what you want to get into! From everything the news is saying now it seems like tourism and I also assume restaurant would be low with workers. I personally worked in retail but other friends worked in construction. It took me one month to find a job in September 2019. Iâd network at the hostel youâre at and also walk company to company to ask about openings! Good luck!
Get outa here! Even Australians don't want to live in Sydney! We have a saying in Oz; "To get to Sydney, you go north until you smell it, then east until you step in it!"
Hahaha. Thanks for the input. A Working Holiday visa Video đ!! So maybe all of the WHV and foreigners will fill the city streets; đ€·ââïž?
You crap on Sydney, but donât offer anything better, @ Rick Kinsman... says a lot about you.
typical melbournite... always trying too hard.
Hope you managed to get out to the blue mountains
Yes! It was nice!!
@@DontWonderExplore I live there. And embarrassingly , it wasnât until Covid shutdowns, that I really got out and discovered so many picturesque hiking trails , swimming pools, waterfalls, scenic lookouts⊠they are EVERYWHERE⊠just tucked in behind peoples homes etc. I had no idea.
Yes funny how that happens right⊠But happy you got to explore it
Go to the country experience the real Australia friendly people
Haha of course! All depends what you want, but Iâd encourage peoples to explore more of the country for sure regardless of where they choose to base themselves
Hey mate. Do you know if I can stay longer after my work and holiday visa is over?
Hey Mate! One needs to follow the visa rules which means you need to leave by the last day, but a quick hack should be to fly to New Zealand or Indonesia and come back on a tourist visa for a bit! It all depends on your countries visa agreements with AU! Where are you from? Alternatively, doing 3 months of farm work / hospitality work right away will give you a 2nd year working holiday visa which is a great option and then you will have 21 months to travel a round and find other jobs after your farm work and application for year two visa!! See the IMMI website for AU for more!!
@@DontWonderExplore Wow, that is great. I am gonna check this out on the website. I am from Brazil and I would like to move to AU. Thanks a bunch
There were a lot of Brazilians in Bondi Beach when I was there. Iâd check for facebook groups of âBrazilians in Sydneyâ!! I feel like theyâd be able to share the exact 1 for 1 experience of doing what you want to do!! Goodluck and enjoy AU!!
I loved it.
Very expensive, though.
Yes, it can be. All about balancing the budget where you can. Splurge here and cut back a little there!! Thx for the comment!!
@@DontWonderExplore Many thanks!
Of course!!
How do you get a working holiday?
Well it depends what country you are from and what agreement Australian has with your country! Check the IMMI website link in my video description and/or Google to see what visa number your country has and then check the IMMI website for the details
Melbourne- snow !!!!!????
It happens lol
So you went to one one of the worst and think it's the best????? Should have tried Brisbane, Perth or Adelaide! You only mentioned Melbourne as your other choice!!!! Give us a break!!!!
Fact Sydney gets more rainfall per annum then Melbourne. Melbourne however gets more rainy days per annum. I have lived in both cities. I think you are very bias on your assessment. Melbourne defiantly without a doubt is the sporting and cultural capital of Australia.
Thanks for your thoughts!!
melbourne is the pretentious capital of australia, yes...
Do any tourists know that the real Sydney is in its west? More people, more jobs, more space, cheaper living, more diverse, with normal people.
Hey Tacit! Your point is great!! Iâm sure a long time local could cover more of the city & its suburbs. For this video it was mostly covering the areas where WHV âmostlyâ find themselves although I did have some friends living in the inner West! đ
no.
and I'll bet you have NOT even been to 'The Shire' to experience the best yet?
No thanks. Very happy living in Melbourne đ
The rivalry is still alive and well! Lol
@ Tri Arb, Canât beat chairman Dan, right?
Other places are fine, but nowhere in Australia has the depth and breadth that Sydney does.
Sorry Melbourne, laneways and coffee shops only get you so far.
Agreed! Sydney has a lot of great things to offer!
Limited look around this large country . Sydney and Melbourne overrated over regional areas havent heard of Brisbane,Adelaide ,Perth and Darwin
Have been around the country as well!! Thx for your advice!! This videos focus is about Sydney, and not the rest of the country!! Maybe, will make one of this videos in the near future!! Cheers.
i can think of a very good reason why not to stay in sydney fer a year. it's called money or lack thereof.
Fair point. Living in shared accommodation with other backpackers helps with that a bit, but it all really depends what type of experience youâre after, right? Living elsewhere surely is cheaper and a different experience.
@@DontWonderExplore i would not at all mind living in oz fer a few but the cost is totally prohibitive plus the u.s. is not commonwealth so you can't just "head on down" like if yer british or canadian. i lived in mexico fer 14 months but mexico is dirt cheap plus i had a wealthy family to live with.
I hear you! All depends on what youâre after. I met peoples there that saved up for the flight. Landed with money for about one month, and worked their way through their âworking holidayâ. Anyhow, just letting you know itâs all possible!! And yes, MX is cheaper to your point! đŻ
Australia and it's people are awesome. The governemet and how they treat us plebs suks.
Should come to Queensland and visit glasshouse national Park or go and visit Australia zoo home of Steve Irwin
Thanks you! Have been to QLD in 2016 but will have to make a return trip some day!! Thanks for the info!!
@@DontWonderExplore I actually moved from Sydney to south east Queensland almost 14 years ago and still loving it
@@adambrock3932 nice have mate whose done the sameâŠback and forth! Always good to try out new locations!!
If you want to work in Australia, DO NOT COME ON A TOURIST VISA!
Working Holiday Visa!
here are a few things the people of the USA should know before you come down to Australia.
1. leave your attitude along with your guns at the departure lounge.
2. don't panic! it will be there waiting for you when you get back, nobody wants it.
3. you cannot buy, nor carry a gun over here, Australia is not the wild west as it is in the USA.
4. enjoy the sites the food and the different cultures.
5. we have a culture, we have, song, dance and food and we are proud of it.
6. The USA has Levi jeans, McDonalds, guns, bombs and mass shootings..
7. Don't be too hard on your own ignorance, after all it's what makes America great!
8. take lots of photos, buy the occasional souvenir.
9. when you get back to the US "the home of the brave and the free," pick up your gun and your attitude, you will notice it is still there intact as you left it. Show your friends the photos and tell them you had a nice time. Oh, and don't forget to tell your friends you experienced real freedom for the first time in your life not having to carry a gun!
Thx mate
@@DontWonderExplore no problem. you USA people need to be informed. happy to help.

Sydney's good for a brief holiday, but you wouldn't want to live there.
Thanks for your thoughts!!
5.5 million people disagree about not wanting to live there so each to his own I guess. Plenty of great places elsewhere in Aus too.
100% there are many great places out there to live, but for working holiday If someone wants a good city experience & beach together SYDNEY is my recommendation!! If they have more time to live places than youâre right there is so so much to explore and experience! Thx for the comment!!
bro LA way better
Sydney used to be a vibrant fun city but itâs been destroyed by the police state and Pentecostals
Change is the only constant
