- In todays video I am testing out Goldens Pastel Ground in my sketchbook and then using a mix of pastels to create an early autumn landscape. My pastel sketchbook is one that I made using Pastel mat paper. I am using unison, Jack richenson, and Mungyo Gallery soft pastels.
The Reference photo is one I took. You are welcome to use the reference photo for personal work but please do not use it for art pieces you want to sell.

My favorite kind of western landscape. 🤠💜💗🧡
Thanks! I always love painting mountains. ❤️
This is really amazing painting, the colours look beautiful thanks for tutorial.
This is mind blowing! 🤯Seriously, you are brilliant! Thank you for sharing.
Thank you!
I did purchase a jar of pastel ground, it was so pricey for me, so I looked into making my own. I have clear gesso and some pumice and a couple of different recipes from other artists. I want a larger firm surface so I am trying out Masonite panels that I hope will work out for me. You created a wonderful landscape in your sketchbook! An excellent use of the ground! Thank you for sharing this wonderful process and lovely painting.
I just bought supplies so I can make my own for that same reason . It was cheaper to buy a jar to test it out to see if I like it but now I will just make my own.
Love your work. Can you please tell us which is your favorite pastel brand?
I have a lot that I like but my go to brands are terry Ludwig, Mungyo gallery, mount vision, and unison.
