This is a video examining what these BFDI characters would be charged with if they were in real life court.

But why pardon and then all the crimes are cleared off
Sacrificing your life to make up for wrongdoings should already be enough to pardon most. People don't get multiple lives in real life, so it makes sense that Book wouldn't be punished after that sacrifice. So no, it's not just an apology.

I absolutely love the fact that you changed Firey's screaming every time you brought up FreeSmart's unlawful imprisonment of Firey.
And another thing that I noticed while watching this video was that Gelatin's jail time confirms that there is a criminal justice system in the BFDI world, but they either don't really care about giving these characters actual jail time, they excuse their actions because it's all just a show and Gelatin's Criminal Impersonation charges were only applied because it happened in between the ending of BFDIA and the start of BFB/IDFB, or that this was the only crime that they actually noticed. So in short, yes, these characters could easily be charged for their crimes, but they aren't.

If she escaped TLC, she didn't escape lawful custody. Announcer puts up in the TLC eliminated contestants unlawfully, aganist their will, for many months.
Then what would the crime be if escaping gave Ice Cube a criminal record?

We can't say we know for sure, though. The laws of Goiky might be completely different to the real world, and according to Goiky law, how the contestants are imprisoned for getting eliminated might be completely legal.
