+samedream china Because Rick Rubin is a dick and they let him dictate what makes the album. The albums could have been fantastic but that genius left out Soul to Squeeze, all the Californication, BTW and SA b-sides that should have the album.

Well if the other guys liked it enough they wouldn't have cared what Rick said, and I read somewhere that they left out Soul To Squeeze because they felt Blood Sugar had enough slower types of songs already on it (Under The Bridge/Breaking The Girl etc) But not 100% sure

I've never understood why RHCP have so many great B side songs.. But probably it's because it's hard to choose when all your songs are great.

For sure. I think two things - they are prolific writers, so naturally some good songs will need to go. For a big band like RHCP, there would only be so much room allowed on the albums for non-typical or non-commercial songs like this one. So you end up with a lot of unique or unusual songs excluded that fans really appreciate.
This is easily one of my favorite Chili Peppers songs, and a true Frusciante masterpiece. Thank you for showing the B-Sides some love

The way his mouth is opening and how clear the vocals are makes it obvious that he is lip syncing his own pre-recorded vocals.
I found it really hard to sing and play at first as well because I was thinking of playing first, and then singing is just an addition. What helps a lot is to picture your vocals and your playing as one instrument that compliment and go together. Helps you keep beat and sound groovy :)

Chilli peppers really put some absolute gems on B-side. Between this and Soul to Squeeze you have to have some of the best songs not put on an album. Also this version really highlights Froosh's amazing backing vocals
