- The India journey begins! We found some cheap flights from Dubai to Mangalore India and decided to take them! For our first impressions of India we will be visiting India's friendliest city or maybe even the friendliest city in the world, Mangalore! We check into our hotel and wander the streets to see what amazing adventures we can find for ourselves! Soon after leaving the main area of the city, we find that the locals are extremely friendly, curious, and love to talk and be on camera! A really amazing experience and a great way to make newcomers to India feel very welcome! More Mangalore travel vlogs coming soon!

The small building you can see at 8:51 on the right, (just after tbe fallen buildings) has an interesting history: It is the first building and served as the founding branch of the Canara bank: the 3rd largest nationalized banks of India, founded in 1906. They now have over 9000 branches in India. The building is not used as a branch now, but more as a museum with a few stuff related to the bank from olden days.

It doesn't matter where you come from or what your religion is, you can always get into temples/mosques/churches or any other holy places in India. But one thing I'm pretty sure about is that none of these places would want you to enter with shorts 😅 wear a good pair of jeans, also don't hesitate to ask a local to assist you into these places. They're always happy to help ☺.
Don't fill bad thing in his mind bro...We allways welcome in temple .Dontt know about Mosque or chrch . In south india may happen sometimes but not in other parts.
As a local, I do go into Mangalore Temples with shorts, and it hasn't been an issue so far.

@@stynershiner1854 Short is not a problem. Sadhus should wear unstitched(oneness and no bonds) clothes so they are usually seen wearing pieces of clothes(for public places few wear shirts). But when it comes to normal people at least try to respect the values. Nobody forces anyone but it's our own sense to understand such small small things...
I'm from Mangalore and No Pujari says it directly since temples come under government but many have such opinions regarding clothing. Nobody will attend a wedding in shorts and it's the same with the temple ..

You are ofcourse welcome to temple any temple across India but make sure to follow certain common rules like wear pants and remove footwear especially in Mangalore some temple requires you to wear lungi white one and white towel on top !! Mangalore is my native. I actually live in Mumbai. Haven't been to Mangalore for over a year and I really miss it. Miss everything about Mangalore. Super busy with job and life right now so wish I could get a getaway to Mangalore to relax. A mini vacation!!! Sighs. And actually you can go into the temples, you just have to remove your shoes before entering, and south India has the best temples, you will love the architecture of those temples. You are missing so much if you don't explore south Indian temples. I am sure you will love it.

The symbol you saw is known as swasthika and has a historical meaning from 1000s of years and is considered auspicious. The german symbol is the hooked cross and is different from this one

Guys, you need some tour guide. You did not visit the main attractions in Mangalore and what you thought was the beach was actually a deserted bank of a river. Beaches in Mangalore are well maintained and clean. Visit Thannirbavi or Pannambur if you are still there.
