- This video will show you how to replace the front output shaft seal on a 3rd Gen 4Runner (1996-2002) transfer case. After 250K miles or more, these may begin to leak and its a fairly simple fix as long as you have a few basic tools and know-how. The process should be pretty much the same on the rear output shaft seal, but I'd encourage you to hop over to Timmy the Toolman's channel to get the specifics.
