I concluded that her walking away in the snow was symbolic, she just went walk about, she just bailed on that wicked town. She’s too strong to die.
When Navarro got her Iñupiat name, it was like she was reborn; life was breathed into her and I just loved that moment
I loved this season. The perfect mix of supernatural and science. I would say they needed maybe one or two more episodes to connect everything without having to lay it all out in the final 30 minutes. Rose was the most interesting character to me. I really wanted to know more about her and who she really is.
OOOOMMMGGGGGG. That scene where Navarro is STRAPPING THAT MAN UP WITH THE HEADPHONES and they full on Clockwork Orange tortured his azzzz..I was AGHAST !!!!!😱😱😱😲😲😲😲😲😲 (but also cheering and clapping) ! OUTSTANDING SCENE ! 💯👍👏👏👏
I noticed in the scene where Danvers and Navarro were standing in front of the window by the aurora, that the balls on the pool table looked strategically placed. To me, it looked like the constellation of the Big Dipper, so I checked to make sure I had the right symbol, and I did. When I looked up if the Big Dipper was visible from Alaska, I read that The Big Dipper is visible from Alaska, and it is part of a the constellation Ursa Major, meaning "The Great Bear," which made me think of the Polar Bear, so I looked up what the Polar Bear symbolizes. I read that Polar bears are greatly respected by Inuit hunters as the most intelligent animal in the Arctic, and as a symbol of the resilience, patience and determination that is needed to survive in the harsh climate.
Yes!!! I have been waiting to see if someone else caught that. It immediately looked purposely placed and very much looked like the big dipper!
Yes! It looked intentional to me 🤤! I love finding little Easter eggs in movies and shows! Jordan Peele does a lot of that.

An amazing series and great finale!! My favorite season of True Detective. The most emotionally mature and adult season of the show.
Yup I love the finale and I think Navarro is alive . I think she left that sad Old town to a better life. I think Danvers and her daughter visit her on a road trip vacation. So I believe they bonded and are friends forever
This! I hadn't even considered that they could be visiting her! Absolutely.
I can’t really pinpoint exactly when they stopped writing parts for women. A lot of movies there are 9 men and one token woman who is basically a cardboard cutout. I used to watch old movies where the woman was the main character. Also very disturbing is the number of shows with a LITTLE GIRL paired with a middle-aged man. Just start counting. How many parts are written for grown up women? Not many at all.
Now that your video is out my season is complete. I could not end it without hearing your breakdown. I only recently found your channel but I have watched all your videos since. Absolutely love how unserious and funny you are. But also that you don't try to be a critic or overly polished like some channels. With you it's like having a conversation with just another causal show watcher. Please keep doing exactly what you do. It's perfect
The way I've been stalking your channel for this video! 😂 Love your recap!💜 Ok first of all neither Ringo Starr nor door knobs are dead. 🤣 So there's that. I enjoyed the season, I just wished it was longer and yeah I would have loved if they dug deeper into the Inuit culture/tradition and the story of Sedna. I think Navarro died and here is why: like you said Danvers told Navarro if she goes out to the ice to come back and Navarro did. That last scene where the POV is from inside Danvers house but you see them through the windows, Danvers is shown through a closed window but Navarro is shown through an open doorway. Windows and doors are liminal spaces/spiritual spaces. The open door symbolizes spirit can move between worlds whereas the closed window symbolizes that you can not (Danvers is in the physical realm and Navarro is in the spiritual realm). Also, I think Navarro was a manifestation of Sedna on the physical realm come to right the wrongs done to her people (or the women of her people). Once she had done that she learned her true nature (got her name) and was able to go back to the water/spiritual realm. Also, about the hair and the cross necklace. Hair is in many of the stories about Sedna. Fishermen have to comb her hair for her to give them good fishing. Sedna can't comb her own hair because her fingers have been cut off. So the hair and missing fingers are referenced a lot in the show. I think Danvers finding the cross necklace in her hair was symbolizing the shedding of western religion.

Even with all of my audible "now what had happened" moments. I enjoyed this season overall. However, I agree I would have liked to see more development of the supporting characters and more history of the Indigenous culture. But a solid 4 out of 5 stars imo. Thank you for the recaps!

I loved the show. I think Navarro was there with Danvers at the end, figuring out her future. Edited to note: Or Danvers was visiting Navarro!! It was sort of silly that they didn't notice the area of the caves being right under the lab lol ('hey wait what's that big building over there') but whatever. It was a load of fun and scares and that's what matters, it was great entertainment.
My bathroom isn't clean unless the cleaner is about to burn through the tub.

I loved this season and thought the same thing about the incels. I loved that it was the cleaning ladies who avenged Annie K's death.
Speaking of Clark the unreliable narrator, he claims Annie K was killed in the underground lab but the video from Annie K's phone showed her dying in the part of the ice cave near where Danvers and Navarro entered.
Did anybody else crack up when Danvers grabbed Clark’s beard 🧔🏽 the way she did it was hilarious 😂

My sister and niecescare in Texas and they love Buc-cees! They're building one here in NC too. Loved the season finale. I felt like Navarro was probably dead but her spirit was with Danvers. Great review as always! I also enjoyed how they dug deep into the indigenous culture, especially the women but I could have used more of that too
Anyone else notice the 'Hawaii' coffee cup Peter brings in to Liz is the same one Liz and Navarro were drinking alcohol out of at the lab. Liz turns it around in her hands where you can read it when she is answering the interviewer about Navarro.

I love your reviews so much!!!! And, you are so right! The side eye complaints about these episodes would not happen if the cops were men. Even though I was wildly wrong in my prediction... I enjoyed the show very much and I'm going to miss it. You're right ...Kali did a fantastic job and matched the passion and talent of Jodie Foster. And I wish there were at least 2 more episodes. I think all the little supernatural things are supposed to be just that... supernatural with no logical explanation. Like the polar bear, the tongue, and the people pointing... And the cross turning up in the car and also being on the bed that Danvers lays down on....the oranges. Both of the women needed to hear from the other side to be healed and they both did. I do think Navarro is alive. I think that was a scene of her seeing Danvers before she goes off on her new life. Doesn't mean they were kicking it... It just means they met up at this location and talked and for this one shot they were looking out over the lake. I choose to think she's alive. Love you and your Bucee's onesie! ❤ ...What are we watching next?
Love your videos EllieBee! I hated this season. That being said, we are getting a Buccees! They have to add an interchange to 75 allow for it which means it’s going to be hard for locals to get to. But people on their way south to Tampa will be happy!

Love your reviews! and agreed that this season should have been longer, would have loved more episodes of this show, I'm bummed its over. When you talked about the Incels it cracked me up, cuz true dat! Two strong women who work together and support each other make the misogynists go crazy, we need more shows like this! At the end, I felt that Navarro was still alive, Liz and Evangeline had been through so much and work together so well, you can't just turn that off, I see them supporting each other in their lives off shift also. Hope to see Kali Reis in movies and other TV shows, she is so good!

Excellent recap, of course! Love the Buc-ees onesie! Never been but there is one about an hour from Nashville. I never thought Navarro died; why would she do that after all she just went through? But I can definitely see her getting the fuck out of that town. I wasn't really loving the season but the finale was satisfying. I wanted the two of them together in the end after realizing their latent lesbianism! 😊 Thanks for covering it!

I had questions about Raymond Clark’s explanation of how Annie K died because aside from sounding questionable, it didn’t match up to the video found on her phone. I really enjoyed this season and love your breakdowns
We're to supposed that she detroyed the glass samples and then heard someone coming in. At that moment, she were hiding and making her video in case it turned bad. This is how Lund find her and started the attack. Then Clark came in.
ElleBee, you did an awesome job of reviewing this series. You are NOT elderly.. you need to be in your mid-60’s to be considered elderly (I’m 72 and would smack someone if they called me elderly) . I wasn’t familiar with Buc-Ee’s so I looked it up, emailed the page to my husband and told him we need to go . We live in CA so it will be a destination trip. As far as cleaning the bathroom, years ago I mixed ammonia and bleach together. Once I smelled it I realized I had made a BIG mistake. I was lucky I didn’t kill myself (Ever watch the episode on Carol Burnett where Momma chews her ass out for mixing the 2 cleaners together?) Since that one incident, I’m very careful on what I use for cleaning.

I don't understand the theories of her not being so. I need a Rose spinoff because baby girl was into some things and I need to know more!!!! A pot smoking, ghost communicating, body hiding, home cooking, former academic professor that doesn't like to talk about her past? I have been wondering if the reason this iteration of TD was shortened bc Jodi Foster maybe wouldn’t do it unless it was shortened??? I have no idea but it just crossed my mind. The actors really carried this season for me because the story was a no for me.
Yeah, they tried to tie the story to the first season but it didn't work, such a shame because they got Jodie Foster and they got the budget but it ended up being meh.
SpongeBob toothbrush was the most interesting character in this series. And how did the toilet women know all the scientists killed what's her name, and not just one scientist killed what's her face? And why are all the toilet women in the same house at the end? It's like they all knew we have to be together to hear the "detectives" let us off scot-free. or do they all just work together and live together, that would be weird.
So, you're just going to go to every True Detective review on the internet and post this same rude ass comment? We get it, you didn't like it nor does it seem that you understood it. You can stop now. 🙄
Annie is her name. And they probably all live in the same house because they are practically family . They probably also get paid a minimum wage and can't afford foe each to live on their own. Like real life.
There were balloons in the house. Perhaps they were all there for a special occasion.
Why are you calling them toilet women...they were cleaners. And they knew that someone there killed Annie because they found the weapon... So they brought the suspects to the God who was disturbed by them for judgment... And that God judged them all guilty and that was good enough for them.

I’m sorry, but this was the worst season ever. There was no detecting show or anything everything was just coincidence.
Then all the supernatural stuff and spiral cult stuff meant nothing. Cleaning crew with guns.
Why would they need to do detective work when the ghosts tell them where to go.
I'm surprised that dancing ghost didn't pop up again for a dancing credits scene, Bollywood style.
I've been anxiously waiting for your recap & you came through! I really liked the season and was glad that they didn't leave too many loose ends. My very favorite part of the finale was the Indigenous Aunties telling "the story" of what happened to the scientists! 1 because I love a good revenge plot & 2 because we so rarely get to see the unseen WIN! If you have Apple, pretty please think about reviewing Criminal Record. Your voice & perspective is very much needed because there is a Black female lead (Kush Jumbo!) & I know you'll critique plot lines that need OUR perspective. 🫶🏾
