I was a homeless suicidal drug-addicted murdering gay prostitute quiz for multiple personality disorders and 1 day Jesus completely healed My Mind Body Soul and Spirit... When I FINALLY SURRENDERED 🎉
For years every time I read through the 4 Gospels I'd always wonder about Jesus simply saying "Follow Me", and then the apostles one by one would drop everything and followed him. I found this amazing article and I was balling my eyes out, because it gave me a whole new appreciation for His love for us. 😥😇😥💕
It's called: "MAY YOU BE COVERED WITH THE DUST OF YOUR RABBI"
In the New Testament a Rabbi would call a new disciple by saying, “Follow Me,” it meant from that time forward their life would change drastically as they would be dead to their old life and alive to their new life. They would literally leave everything they knew and begin to follow their new teacher.
~If you were called to follow a Rabbi, you would be taking their set of rules and their teaching upon you, with the idea that one day you would perpetuate their ideas to future generations. A Rabbi’s set of teachings in that day was called their “yoke.” This is what Jesus was talking about when he said, “Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for … For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light” (Matthew 11:28-30). The Rabbis of Jesus’ day put a heavy yoke loaded with burdens on men and did not help to lift them.
~Around the age of 14 or 15 years old, the young men would finish their schooling and the Rabbis would go to these schools and question these young men. They would then choose the best of the best to be their disciples and would call them using the same phrase that Jesus used, “Follow Me.” The Rabbi wanted to find out if you had what it takes to spread his yoke. The new disciple would then leave his hometown and everything he knew, and would follow him everywhere, giving his life to be exactly like his Rabbi. The student would follow the Rabbi and literally imitate him in every way, especially his teaching and mannerisms.
~As one would leave and begin to follow, others would say to him, “May you be covered with the dust of your Rabbi.” The students followed him so closely that the dust from the road that came from the feet of the Rabbi would cover the disciple. That should be the desire of every disciple of Christ, to walk so close to him that we would be covered with his dust.
~If a young man was rejected by the Rabbi, he would say to him, “Go home, have children, and pray that they may become a Rabbi. Go home and ply your trade (go home and learn the family business).”
~Matthew 4:18-22 describes Jesus calling four of his disciples to follow him, “And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers.
~(Why were these men fisherman, because they were not chosen to be a potential Rabbi; they were plying their trade.) And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him.
~Jesus calling these young men was just the same as saying, “I believe you can be like me and I believe you have potential, you have what it takes. I believe God can use you.” This was one of the greatest privileges in their culture.
~Imagine you were on the shore when this scene unfolds. Jesus walks by and calls James and John, the sons of Zebedee, they drop everything and immediately begin to follow Jesus. I would have thought that their father would have said, “… you kids now a days, running off, leaving me with all this work, where do you think you’re going.” Nothing like that was spoken. I imagine that Zebedee ran home and said something like this, “The boys aren’t with me mom, a Rabbi, Jesus of Nazareth, came along and called our boys, and he thinks that they have what it takes to be a Rabbi someday.” Maybe the next morning, he sees the usual men preparing for the day’s work that is ahead of them and he can’t wait to brag on his sons. I assure you that this became the talk of the town, Zebedee’s family stock soared that day, and this is what every father dreamed of for his son.
~I often wondered why Peter would get out of a perfectly good boat in the middle of a storm. His Teacher was not in the boat and he wanted to be just like him, so he stepped out and walked on the water. Peter would rather be surrounded by the waves and be with Jesus than to be in a safe boat without him. Peter wanted to be covered with the dust of his Rabbi, to follow Him. What Jesus did, Peter wanted to do, where Jesus was, Peter wanted to be.
May you be covered with the dust of your Rabbi!
~I was just thinking about how Jesus washed His dust off of the feet of his disciples. They were dirty, because they followed so closely behind Him. It was now time for them to step up, and have the world follow what they have to say about Jesus! Yet Judas was covered in that same dust, but he decided to betray him like billions of so-called Christians today that do not obey Jesus, but are still choosing to obey their flesh!

Have you seen the movie for the Gospel of John, it's Absolutely Fantastic! I watch that one every week!
I was in church for 50 years and I never read my Bible and then 5.5 years ago I almost killed myself, and then Lord reminded me that it only takes 1 Day to Listen to the dramatized New Testament Bible. Ever since then I've been reading/listening to my Bible cover to cover every single month.. While I drive, walk, work, clean, bathe... So who needs TV or social media when we've got The Word of God that sets us free. I suddenly had a radical conversion and surrendered my ENTIRE life to Christ...after I read 1st JOHN 3:9-10, it Absolutely scared me too the core and I stopped making excuses for my sin. I was kidnapped for sex trafficking the very day that I ran away from home after my mom had murdered my twin baby sisters she said she was going to murder me. After God saved my soul that day, Now I truly love God with all my heart, all my mind, all my sou, andl all my strength. He healed my Mind Body Soul and Spirit.. Ever since then I've never experienced anger, fear, unforgiveness, guilt, shame, rejection, bitter, lustful thoughts, loneliness, worry/stress, lying, gossip, etc 🎉 I can't believe that I used to think I was Born Again, not even close. The TRUTH sets us Free!

When this came out originally in the mid-90's I was teenager, and my family had the four-VHS tape video. We would watch it as a family every New Year's Eve (a tape a day leading up to New Year's Eve, where we'd watch the last tape on Dec 31). It was a very special tradition.

I was in church for 50 years and I never read my Bible and then 5.5 years ago I found out that it only takes 1 Day to Listen to the dramatized New Testament Bible. Ever since then I've been reading/listening to my Bible cover to cover every month.. While I drive, walk, work, clean, bathe... Who needs TV or social media when you've got The Word of God! I suddenly had a radical conversion and surrendered my entire life to Christ. After I read 1st JOHN 3:9-10, I stopped making excuses when I saw that I was considered a child of the devil!!!
~For years every time I read through the 4 gospels I'd always wonder about Jesus simply saying "Follow Me", and then the apostles one by one would drop everything and followed him. I found this amazing article and I was balling my eyes out 😇😥💕
      It's called:
"MAY YOU BE COVERED WITH THE DUST OF YOUR RABBI"

I absolutely adore this version of Mathew’s gospel. It portrays joy and humor I believe our beautiful Messiah has. When the healed leper tackles Jesus with sheer love and abandon after being made clean, I cry like a baby. This movie is worth watching all year long, not just on feast days.

Not deviating from the words of scripture makes this the best movie about Christ, no contest. Production quality matters not when God's word is proclaimed accurately, for His word transcends what we see. Praise be to Yahweh for His infinite grace and mercy. Thank you Master Jesus for sacrificing yourself for undeserving lawless, rebellious men such as us.

@𝔓𝔯𝔬𝔭𝔥𝔢𝔱𝔦𝔠 𝔰𝔬𝔫 honestly the Bible is confusing in a sense that Jesus is God incarnate but how can he be God incarnate when we say the father the son and the Holy Spirit ? There are 3. It was Marcion of Sinope who stated that God and Jesus are two different Gods. God of the Old Testament is a god of punishment and unforgiving justice while Jesus in the new testament comes with love repentance and salvation. So which one do we follow ? That’s probably why some follow Jesus as God rather than God of the Old Testament. As you notice rarely do churches preach about the Old Testament? That’s because it’s based on Mosaic Law rather than what the early Christians wrote. If you think about it, if Jesus was there in the beginning, then he was there for the flood, genesis etc but there is no mention of him in the Old Testament except the small words of a coming prophesy to be fulfilled. If its truly a gods word, it has been corrupted and this was also mentioned in the Bible. The false teaching.

Is there a bible version that this goes by because I noticed that 2:32:14 something didn't sound right. So I checked in the KJV and yes some words are modified but worse there are sentences that are skipped. Like at verse 20 it never mentioned when he said, *from my youth up* : what lack I yet?
Not that I'm following it word per word but i now wonder how often this is done in the movie. On account that modifications of taking out of the bible often leads to another's own opinions. (Rev. 22:18-19)

The movie for the Gospel of John is Absolutely Fantastic!!

This is a wonderful telling of the Matthew Gospel and a beautiful and reverent depiction of Jesus. For decades I've been trying to obey the command, "Love God with all your heart, mind, soul and strength". It wasn't easy because of the harsh way I was taught Catholic beliefs when I was a child. One can't love whom one is scared of! But I've found that movies like this and "The Chosen" series have helped me start seeing in my heart just how approachable and loving Our Lord is. I've been watching this movie in segments on my Smart TV, and look forward to continuing to watch tonight.
