This kind of makes sense. The fortune teller selected random companies, some did poorly some did well, so you evened out. The finance bros probably gave you mostly risky trend based investments that did poorly lol (wallstreet bets would be proud).

It's more like 3 months is too short a period to establish whether or not a strategy actually works or not. The stock market on aggregate is volatile (randomly goes up or down a lot), with individual companies even more so. Over time this volatility cancels itself out, and your good companies will be reliably up and the bad ones down, but that is over the span of years, not months.

I knew that wasn't enough time for profit, and since it wasn't real money, I invested it all in penny stocks hoping for a miracle. We had $1000 and I was actually up $300 at one point, sadly I ended with a loss of $3... One or my stocks went from about $1 to $4 and then back to $1 in the span of about 3 days.

Manic-depressive disorder? Psychosocial therapy may be employed to treat non severe cases of mental illness.
Psychiatry on the other hand, can and will diagnose, just like psychologists, but whats the difference? They use their MD backgrounds, their primary treatment regiments are often medicine, for OCD typically anti-depressants are used since failure to achieve compulsion behaviour leads to anxiety therefore reinforces repetitive behaviour therefore manifesting obsession things like that; and for severe cases of personality and mental disorders Electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) may be used.
So see? Their in the same domain, the treatment makes it unique to both fields, since in the end its the patient's life is what makesnit important to have that distinction, since we want to avoid drug reliance, toxicity, and increased tolerance since thats not curative anymore, and we want to avoid regression from therapy, thats why there are proper treatments unique for each patients.

Truth.. my gf spends hours upon hours weekly on personal finance learning,reading, watching youtube and I maybe spent 2 hours looking at stuff in 2 years, bought a bunch of rather safe ETFs and they're all well in the plus, more than double of hers percentage wise. I did buy a few individual company stocks, with less good results. Diverse investments are better, if one company goes down, others go up. And unless something really horrible happens, or you panic sell, things will at least more or less even out

I reasoned as the majority of my investments will be in my workplace pension that I can't control (overweighted into FTSE100 ETF and underweighted into the S&P500 sadly) that I might as well go a bit "hog wild" with whatever money I have leftover to invest and went for a nearly 50/50 split on Automation and Robotics ETF and the Global Clean Energy ETF with the remainder for a Defence ETF once the war in Ukraine ends and the prices of all the Defence companies hopefully crash a bit.
