What else do you want to know about Philips Hue?
My chandelier takes small bulbs, I think they are c9. Are there huge replacements for these? I'd need about 20 of them I think
Nothing overpriced and no even close to the best smart light
@@RickieJr what do you think is the best light bulb
@@cdarrigo depends what lights you're talking about Indoor can lights. Lifx are 1000% better
Constantly changing your bright outdoor lights to match the movie you're are watching... Your neighbors must love that 😂
Some house near me have these, they look stupid.
@@planespeaking I think Brett's look really cool. Not sure I'd make them change with my TV, but I really like the dynamic scenes
@@cdarrigo I just fundamentally think lights in soffits look dumb. All for useful lighting, automation, all that jazz
@@planespeaking for me I love it because I don’t know why I love these stupid stuff.
This is the part that confused me in the video. But it was also the part that excited me the most because that was incredible on having ghosts and things like that in the window and the hands sliding down on the window during the lightning. How again did this work and what would I need? Thanks!
Nice Video Brett, haven't watched in a while. Will be moving near the end of November, so will have to put smart home stuff on hold until I get another place of my own. For the last several months have been using the Philips Wiz A21, and A19 bulbs and really like what they have to offer without needing a hub. Hope you are well.
I'm 2 minutes into the video and was screaming at the TV "keep the trim, just change out the light bulb for a smart light!" I'm very glad to learn. I'm not the only person who does everything the hard way 😀
Haha! I maybe I should have even moved that closer to the front of the video. I'm glad I couldn't find an R20 Hue bulb or I would have wasted a lot of time, but now I really want an R20 Hue bulb to put in with the downward facing trim.
Halfway through video I was thinking I want this!! Almost finished watching I was like I’m getting this!! Then I saw all that it does and detect motion !! I was like OMG!! How soon can I get someone to do this!! Lol!!😊👍🏾 great video! Thanks
Cool idea. Thanks, Brett!
Hi Brett, thank you for the amazing video. I am planning to install the lights for my soffit. My house trim is very similar to the house shown in this video. I am struggling to decide between Flush mount lights and Gimbal light type. Can you please advise. Thanks
🤯 House of the future.
I love your channel. Great video. I have a question, are there any wired smart home products? I think that wired products are more secured. For example, Why there isn't wired smart bulb? The technology to have enthranet over power has been here for many years. I'm looking for any wired smart home products.
Dear Brett, have you made a video on laptops other than che crome book? Your tips are really helpful and I always watch your videos especially when I get the same item.
How the heck did you get up to the upper lights ?? They look GREAT !
Thank you Brett for all the New ideas you offer.
I like to send them to my Electrician Son 😊.

Great bro
Bro this looks awesome! I'm on product #6 for outdoor Philips Hue lights, or 7 if you wanna count Philips Hue bulb in my porch light. The house is starting to look like a Christmas tree, or as some said a strip club at this point lol. Do you recommend Philips Hue Lily's? Because that's my next product to light up the front of my house, along with string lights for my backyard but those don't need to even be smart.
Philips Hue overall... can't nothing beat it for me with the ecosystem and amount of products they have. Plus they seem to make the best of what they got. Nobody else touches Philips Hue's outdoor lightstrips.
I’m currently looking for a housing to be able to install these lights. Which previous model of recessed light did you have?
Do you think I can put the a19 philllips bulbs in my soffits? I already have regular bulbs currently in there. Or do you suggest different bulbs?
I'm not a big proponent of colored lighting but yours look great.
So since you are now in your new home how about a smart home tour? And don't worry about keeping it brief either, I'd like to see it all.
I had a friend visit us yesterday and she said I have too many smart devices. I said she should see this guy on CZcams 🤣
Helo breet, am Goodluck from Nigeria and am one of your biggest fan, I am planing on starting a smart home in my country but am having a problem with most of the device operating voltage. In Nigeria we operate at 230v 50Hz , and I don't know if it will be compactable. Am mostly concerned about most of the charging adaptor of most appliance ,Lutron and other smart devices. I wana know if the adaptor are dual voltage (110-230)voltage If they are not, what's your advise for me since my operating voltage is different
How has the black spray paint held up?
Been really struggling to get round light fittings for living room ceiling that will accept traditional Philips lights. Don’t have option of ceiling Lights.
Hello, that's look good. Wondering can linked with Home Assistant?
From the looks of it, it can be linked.
Are these downlight rated for outdoor use? Everything I seem to be finding in my Googling seems to indicate that they aren't intended for outdoor use in soffits? I live in an area that occasionally gets hit by snowstorms (and the occasional blizzard), so I have concerns about these holding up under my soffits.
I think Phillips hue are the best color bulbs. You seem to have. The most intensity and always just work. Do you think with matter coming onto the scene, it makes sense to still purchase other hue accessories like the motion sensor? Do you think other third party accessories might work just as well and maybe be a little bit cheaper?
I like to keep items as close to the ecosystem as possible. While other sensor might work with the Hue lights, going with the Hue sensor in the Hue app will most likely provide the most features.
@@TechWithBrett Do you think that's going to continue to be the case after matter is released and integrated into legacy hardware?
Love the Content, Brett! Currently thikning of adding recessed lighting in my soffits around my home as part of a remodel we're doing. Looks like it's been about a year since you installed the hue bulbs in the soffits. If you had to do it all over again, would you still go with the Hue/soffit bulbs or something else? Thanks!!
I would definitely go with Hue again. My only wish is that I added more locations to some of the darker corners of the home and the lower level.
@@TechWithBrett Love to hear it! Thanks Brett!
The HOAs didn't see this coming 🤣Not a damn thing they can do about it now. Some of the houses in my neighborhood look like Vegas bordello and yet I get a nasty letter if there is a little grass creeping into my (mandatory) flower beds. WTF.
What kind of recessed light cans were in before you put the Phillips cans?
It was a BR20 Bulb in a Elite B461 housing that they painted black.
Can you do a video about controlling your hue scenes via Google assistant? I've tried to set up some hue scenes but I have to always control them via the hue app. And much rather control them using my voice when I talk to my Google devices
This is something I think I still need to figure out. Great idea.
@@TechWithBrett google doesn't recognise hue scenes, but google will activate lights by voice and the last state hue was in will play, so dynamic scene will resume
Are these downlights actually rated for outdoors?
In the packaging it mentioned that they are rated for wet locations if they are facing down.
How have these Phillips Down lights held up in the weather?
They have been amazing. Zero issues so far even with a pretty crazy winter.
Paul told me that u like Phillips product....,
Just dropping a comment
id rather use the govee outdoor lights
should have added at 5:28, “Sorry but this Jerry Rig Everything knife isn’t sponsored..”
I don’t see the point of painting when the bulb area is white. Made it look worse
I came to CZcams to research AWS Fargate but saw your video instead... Productivity hindered.
Thanks Raine for your prioritization! I tried to make it short but there is always so much too talk about.
I hate phillips hue, I don't get paid as much as youtubers
Even I look for discounts so that I can add more to the collection and still feed the family.
Too expensive 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾
