- I wasn't going to get the whole Hasbro Marvel Legends retro carded Spider-Man No Way Home (with a little Amazing Spider-Man 2 thrown in for good measure) but Figured fate wanted me to take the full plunge when I ran across all of them at my local Walmart. It's Spidey, I can't help myself!

Truth! The way I cackled louder at each of the the ever more ridiculous methods…made my morning!
As far as I can tell, Sandman and Lizard didn’t appear in human form the entire movie, because of COVID restrictions. They simply couldn’t be brought in to the filming locations, so they did what they could with what they had, and then used recycled footage from Spider-Man 3 and TASM for the cure scenes

@@Matt-ok5nxSandman’s curing scene isn’t him gaining his powers but in reverse. It comes from the scene where he battles black-suited Spider-Man and gets knocked down into the sewer, getting wet from the sewer water and then starting to “disintegrate” and turn into “mud”.
At least they were able to record some lines

Obviously, it's because of licensing rights to Andrew's likeness despite the figure clearly being from *_No Way Home_* just like the Hot Toys figure.
Really liked the increasingly extreme/deranged ways of opening the packages!
After modifying the FINAL SWING spidermans butterfly joints, shaved hips and increased torso crunches he has taken the top spot for pocket fig

@@j0hn00 I'm no CZcamsr or self promoter but I showed pic on my IG, but for the shoulders use heat so the arms pop out and clip the tip of the peg, same for the hips, pop the legs off first the shave the hips back so the legs can raise higher to his chest, the lower belly trimming and ribs is something I do personally and would say go at your own risk

i like the idea of labeling these 3 with spider-man's iconic adjectives "amazing" "friendly neighborhood" but they really should've given toms spidey "ultimate" or "spectacular" on his box as well
The lack of hands on the spider-men is really shady on hasbros part. Pretty much confirms they want you to double dip because you can’t get 1 releases with all the accessories.
jokes on them i'm only gonna get final swing because it's stupidly predatory and their tobey is horrible anyway

19:07 The reason Sandman is all sand and not human like we saw him in Spider-Man 3 is because Thomas Haden Church couldn't physically be on set due to Covid restrictions. He was only able to provide voice work. It wasn't because it was cheaper than de-aging or anything.
The escalation from exacto knife, to scissors, to hand saw, etc... love it!

Sandman in person is absolutely beautiful and in my opinion thee most underrated figure out of the wave!! It's definitely a figure NOT to sleep upon, it's absolutely a must get.
The Andrew head looks more like a young Christopher Moltisanti to me. Thanks for doing this one. Sticking with the 3 pack.

The Final Swing Spidey is the most stiff Marvel Legend I’ve ever opened. I’ve barely moved it, it freaks me out, like an older NECA figure
I am SO HAPPY to get these figures! Not only do they all look awesome, but we get ALL UNMMASKED heads!

we should make it a law that every company who produces a spiderman figure should always give us all the variations of the hands
In regards to Tobey and Andrew, I’m content with the 3 pack release. I might pickup the single carded releases if they go on sale for custom fodder (could easily do a Black suit SM3 custom).
Someone else just mentioned the SM3 black suit too and I think that's where one of mine is going to go.

Yk. I wasnt able to get the 3 pack. And I wasn't looking for Tom. So I myself wanted to wait. And I did. Plus the final swing suit its like. Hell yeah
One thing about the sandman figure I noticed... The face looks more like Thomas Haden Church than the No Way Home CGI model. That model, the uncanny valley look is in full effect. You can just make out the actors face, but just barely. Everything has a smoothed look to it as if the detail was buffered out, both in the face and in the body.
I'm honestly impressed they chose to give the model a closer look to the actor. One things for sure, it will work pretty well for a Spider-Man 3 custom sculpt.
Great stuff! Always bringing the new. Loved the progression of opening methods - I laughed out loud for a few seconds when you got to the circular saw!

To answer your question regarding de-aging: yes. THC wasn't available due to the cough cough, so they made him pure sand and repurposed existing footage. Yes, making him full CG was expensive, but once you have the models built and rigged, it becomes more a game of texture and lighting, which is arguably easier for a sand person. De-aging is tricky, just as time-consuming, and most likely, they would've needed to stitch a stunt body to THC head. It's a lot more work in the long run to sell the effect properly.

Preorder this wave and the green goblin & doc oc, I can’t wait. I really hope hasbro would make more film characters from the Toby & Andrew films, they’re respective aunt May (s)& Uncle Ben(s), Gwen Stacy(s), a Mary Jane, Goblin from Amazing 2, the updated electro, make Rhino be the BAF. Would be interesting and complete.
Yeah, it’d be awesome if Hasbro did some sort of Anniversary” movie wave for Spider-Man similar to what they did for the X-Men movies, and make figures of various characters from the Sam Raimi Spider-Man trilogy and The Amazing Spider-Man duology.

I always felt like the original Spider-Gwen unmasked head was an of the era original tooling for a movie Gwen. It's very Emma Stonish behind the paint apps. Not great, but for the time.

I'm mostly tempted by that Andrew cause of the unmasked headsculpt, I ended up canceling the figuarts cause of the lack of it. He was the only good figure of the 3 pack (which thankfully I never got especially since these new ones completely invalidate those, gotta feel bad for those who bought it with these coming out mere months afterwards).
Pfft i feel no sympathy for anyone dumb enough to buy that three pack
Very glad they gave us a Maguire head that could feasibly work for his original films and NWH. I want the former much more than the latter, really.

With the final swing suit the only thing I straight up don't like at all is that empty space on his chest, I feel like they should've moved the logo lower into that space.
I will say it’s kind of weird how the neck split is so apparent now. I think most people thought they were for the inevitable unmasked versions to have unmasked necks but now it’s just there.
Huh. While I don't imagine there'd be too many other characters out there that could re-use that Sandman body...one that comes to mind, if Hasbro was feeling risky, could be Swarm. They'd just need to give him a new head, cloak, and some gloves.
Oh dang, now I gotta get another one, a custom head, and a purple cloak!

Those 3 Spider-Men are a must by for me, since I don't have any. Still want the Renew Your Vows set to display all of them together. MJ is a very nice figure that might buy, maybe at sale.

I understand how many people felt about the 3-Pack of “No Way Home”, but if you ask me, this is perfect! Because for one who’s an avid toy collector like myself, they can keep one trio of the three Spider-Men with their masks on, and the other 3 that each come individually, they can keep them unmasked.

I’m digging the laying out the figures with the accessories on the table. The unboxings are fun. Posing section is looking sharp. Upgrades to Robo overviews/reviews. Im starting with three Peters Ock and Norman. I’ll get the others later. Murdock is ok. Better than the previous one.
I wonder if the comic Matt Murdock head that came with the classic yellow costume Daredevil will fit on that MCU Matt Murdock body?

Even though it gives us options, it still sucks that we essentially have to buy the same figure twice with just a slight change to the accessories which should've come with the 3 pack that already cost so much.

12:24 Matt reuses the arms from Rose. They're good, except they're missing buttons on the sleeves. Mr. Knight doesn't use Fury arms. He has the same arms as Coulson, but Mr. Knight's shoulders are backward.

I don't collect Marvel Legends in a big way, but that Final Swing Spidey looks really good. I might need to snag him and see if I like him any more than the old "pizza Spidey" I've had on my shelf for a long time.
