The thing I love about Octavia is that she's such a refreshing spin on the bratty teenage daughter. She's not frustrated out of greed or selfishness, she's frustrated because of the very legitimate issues her home life is facing. Alot of people her age can relate to feeling trapped in a toxic environment and not knowing how to make it better or get out of it. We see this when she explains that her biggest fear is if her father loves his partner more than he loves her. Even with all her frustrations with him, what she most afraid of losing isn't her parent's marriage or her home, it's the people who love her.
Honestly I've decided she's my comfort character now

-actually does love Blitz, he just shows it in an invasive way

I don't condone cheating ever and i think it's better to break up than to cheat but obviously he still cares a lot about Octavia and he shows that in this episode. He wants to make things up to her. He's still a good dad.

Stolas tried his best and thats what parent can only do. Trust me my child hood was almost exactly like Octavia i was raised with love but my parents started to hate each other the constant screaming and hitting really did a number on me. My parents divorced and i blamed them UNTIL i understood where the actual problem they never deserved each other but why should i blame them for their mistakes from the past love has mysterious ways on how to connect people.
What i m trying to say is Octavia is only a victim of the forced marriage of Stolas and his wife and Stolas didnt do anything wrong he was forced also do you have any idea how much stolas has on his plate and what kind of pressur he has, he suffers too you know So HOW can you possibly think that Stolas was selfish

That's kinda miracle he's carrying parent for he's daughter- I can only speculate it's thanks for that Stolas's doing for Octavia everything he wanted from his own parents, but didn't get.

My dad didn't have good parents and my mom had an abusive mother so they both work hard to make sure I don't have to experience the things they did.
Listen… Parenthood is all about making what you can for your child. That means more than being selfless but understanding what makes you yourself a better person for both you and them. Stolas lied to her, Stella and himself for several dozen years for a fucked up marriage he was forced in (both of them.) He lied to his wife rather than being capable of being honest with her even though he states she was merely there for means of sexual reproduction to create an heir. Not to mention them all being demons like dude, I understand that these characters are meant to be connected to irl but like… Again… They are all demons, and the largest demons we can face are our own. Stolas easily is just as horrible for lying to himself, his wife, his daughter, and his father. Making excuses doesn’t make you a victim, there is no excuse as to why he couldn’t have just let Stella go as he simply stated; if anything I can still see why she is pissed off… Yeah she is a bitch, but dude lied to her for 17 years, I think anyone in their right mind being told they only existed in that state for breeding purposes and being told they are a lesser in such a royal family would be absolutely pissed right off

I don’t know who those characters are or where they are from, so putting the real actress name would help me research it better.
I love how Stolas is like an actual bird and becomes complacent with a hood over his head.
You know, in the very first scene, Octavia calls out *only* for her father, and says "I couldn't find you." Not "I couldn't find you or Mummy." "I couldn't find YOU." Most children will call for their mother when injured or frightened. Hell, even most adults will scream for their mothers if they're put in enough pain. Usually, when a hurt or scared child doesn't call for their mother, or, worse yet, tells you in no uncertain terms to NOT go get their mother, it's typically interpreted as a sign of abuse. On top of that, if I'm interpreting things properly, Octavia's greatest fear is specifically losing her father. Not her parents- her father. The more I rewatch Helluva Boss or review individual clips, the more I read into it, and I'm not sure how much of this is genuine insight into characters, and how much is me playing Freud.
I know this comment was 5 months ago, but I also find it interesting that in the family photo Octavia’s mom is looking at Stolas and not at her. Meanwhile, Stolas is looking at Octavia but not at his wife. I think this also hints that Stolas was always the main person who cared about Octavia, and also that he was never really into his wife

I have to admit, never in my whole life have I ever seen a cartoon character more relatable than Octavia. This is not only quality animation, but also quality writing, character development, and overall design. Viv sure knows what she's doing, and I enjoy where this is going.

For starts, her mother doesnt try to comfort her ( maybe she was just tired?), she doesn't acknowledge her presence when she enters the kitchen ( was busy screaming at Stolas for liking an Imp so yeah haha), Also Stella's body language in the pictures, she is never seen holding little octavia unlike stolas. I dont think Stella is a bad mom just a little distant (but we don't know for sure)

I always forget how absolutely massive Octavia is. She looks small in comparison to her parents but she towers over pretty much everybody else. I guess it just runs in the family to be super tall.

Octavia is so relatable and a great character when she was little life was fun and happy but she grows up more her parents are fighting because of Stolas' lust of Blitzø not being cheerful, her moment going to Loo Loo Land seeing Robo Fizz just brought back bad memories and Stolas understand what she feels, she wants to go home but it's not home to her because of the yelling and arguing and Stolas caring her in his arms is a sweet moment going some else right behind them Loo Loo Land is buring out another damn good episode I super hope to see more of Octavia in the series.

Facts she’s a relatable character
As someone who spent half their life watching their parents fight, and is still dealing with the aftermath of their stubborn BS, hearing Via say that home didn't feel like home because of what her dad did was most visceral thing I felt in a minute.

This episode was so amazing to the opening song all the way to the ending which was a roller coster of emotions for me.
The animation here is fucking stellar. It looks better than nearly any animation in tv, there’s so much passion in everyone that works on it.
One of the good things about not working for a company.. there are some more risks but more freedom.. what I like about this show is it’s not everything is awful and laugh at it but there is a heart and the characters isn’t awful but awful because life is against them.. it’s like Boogie Night.. everyone does stupid things and immoral behavior but it’s not by being evil people it’s because of what they are around and how it’s shaped them..

I actually liked episode 2 way better than 1. To be honest, I wasnt really interested in Helluva Boss from the start, unlike Hazbin. But this episode really sold me on it. And Stollas and Octavia went from secondary characters I barely cared about to some of my favourites!
