    was doing this for homework but honestly, all those in power should be like salt. using their power in society to help others who don't have said power and deserve better lives.

    Loving this little series. I'd never heard of Titus Salt, what an influential person though! He seems an essential link in the understanding of the development of British society.
    While there were other factors at play, knowledge of the French Revolution etc across the channel and the potential for it to happen in Britain probably also scared politicians witless and had them willing to make concessions to the working poor.
    But people like Titus Salt seemed to be leading from the front and providing positive examples of what was possible, no doubt he was also a great influence on both the public and the decision makers. We didn't need bloody revolution when people could see change was possible without it.
    Maybe, anyway - I'm still learning about this aspect of the period.

    7) What was the place named that Salt built for his workers?
    8) What benefits did his employees enjoy?
