Here's the description for the M05, direct from EasySMX themselves:
"Our M05 is a gamepad specially customized for Android/iPhone 15 series mobile gamers. Based on the feedback from over 1,000 mobile gamers, we optimized the structure to make M05 to be the most user-friendly mobile gamepad. There will be no more camera bump, phone case or complex connection problems while using."
    • Main Features:
    Most User-friendly Designs:
To accommodate variable phone users’ needs, we expand the stretchable size to 100-173 mm. What’s more, with the optimized structure of the M05, it can support camera bump, phone case (suggested thinness: ≤1mm) covered phones. Including the moveable plug, gamers can attach the controller to their phone with ease.
    • Console-like Immersion Guaranteed:
To bring more immersion while mobile gaming, the vibration features were added on M05 (depending on the setting of the games). Moreover, the Hall Effect triggers put more precision on the M05. And the passthrough charging enables your phone powered as you game simply by plugging in its charging cable to the controller.
    • Limitless Connection & Compatibility
M05 is compatible with Android and iPhone 15 series (or later series with USB-C Plug) under Bluetooth & direct USB-C connection. From the latest iOS and Android titles to the games on the different cloud gaming platforms. (Xbox Game Pass, Play Station Remote, GeForce NOW and more)
    • 2 Back Paddles and Enlarged Joysticks
The back paddles can be remapped or programmed for gamers to do more gaming action. And the larger joysticks bring you more comfortable control

Great!!! I knew that your video review of this easysmx gamepad would arrive first. I didn't expect anything else, I'm just following you when it comes to understanding how a telescopic gamepad is made to understand its physical and operational feedback (sooner or later I'll do it too since I'm an enthusiast from Italy).
Did you see that the new BSP D8 Pro and BSP D10/D10 S were released 2 weeks ago and 4 days ago respectively??? I hope you bought them to test them and make videos of them, I'm more inclined to get the D10 for better ergonomics and heat dissipation, perhaps also the feedback from the action keys (in the D8 pro unfortunately they all have microswitches and I don't like that feedback at all, but the compensation is a total improvement over the old normal D8, both in ergonomics, in the layout of the buttons and in the vibration, now it's also present in the triggers like the original Xbox gamepad... fantastic !!!)

Did you see? The first mini review of the BSP D10 has been released on Reddit. It doesn't look bad and the ergonomics finally seem to be fixed with longer handles on the sides, and it's more comfortable than the old BSP D8.
The guy says that the physical keys are practically the same as those of the BSP D8 and also the feedback of the keys except the spines are less noisy here. Perhaps the only flaw is that there is no LED around the analogue switches (but you have to check, it seems to me that they are there and should be activated with the key combination).
The first video on bilibili was also released.

Thanks for the heads up man! Yeah, I have it here and have been testing it for a couple days. I’m going to do my best to get a review uploaded on Monday morning. I’ll share all my opinions and personal experiences with it soon. Also, the D10S is on its way. I’m looking forward to that one too. Appreciate the comments my friend.

I've seen a similar controller with the EasySMX M05, if I'm not mistaken, the name is MEMO S2. Not sure whether it's the same in terms of usage.

It is exactly the same however the 4 extra buttons are all white and some detailed differences in the type-c. This controller (M05) is not advertised as hall-effect joysticks and lastly Memo s2 is cheaper.

Excellent review and one that's relevant to me as I do most of my gaming on repurposed Androids. I want a retro handheld; but, paralysis by analysis is a very real thing. Thanks for continuing to do coverage of phone and tablet controllers on your channel.
This unit's ability to spoof other controllers is really cool. My GameSir X2 Pro is HID only and I sometimes run into issues with certain Play Store games not recognizing the analog triggers as analog. "Grid: Autosport" comes to mind. In that game I have to map throttle and brake to the right stick, like a PS1 "Gran Turismo". If I connect a controller that can do D-input or X-input then Grid will recognize that controller's analog triggers as analog and I can play the game normally. I believe the GameSir G8 Galileo can spoof other controllers; but, IIRC their X2s is HID only. Is this EasySMX M05 the most affordable USB-C controller on the market today that can spoof other controllers?
Off topic; I recently learned that Sega made a second version of "OutRun" for the PS2. This PS2 OutRun, not to be confused with 2006, was part of Sega's Japanese market Sega Ages series of budget priced retro games remastered with 3D objects instead of sprites. It was sold here in the States as part of the "Sega Classics Collection" due to shenanigans from Sony America not allowing the Ages games to be sold here individually.

If your not too much of a controller snob haha the bsp d line up of controllers are a good option but as far as I remember they are bluetooth connection only but I had no latency issues and setup is none existant or minimal at best (button remapping) when used with most popular emulators plus there are alot of tutorial videos out there for them. Despite it's shortcomings (lack of traditional d pad) my bsp d3 controller has allowed me to do alot of emulation gaming for less than $20. The newer bsp d models have all the bells and whistles but cost a little more. This channel has reviewed the newer variants (D8 and D9). All the best!

    • @OGTechNick

@mattdavis9601 @gvrvvglw is right about the BSP line. They’ve been putting out surprisingly good budget controllers. I’ve seen the D3 on sale for under $10 recently on AliExpress. I have to say though, I just received the brand new D8 Pro and I’m a bit conflicted with it. The D10S is on the way as well, so I should have some new BSP content to upload and talk about real soon.
Also, Matt, I’m excited to check out that Japanese OutRun. I had no idea!
Appreciate both of you guys more than you know. Thanks for taking the time to watch my videos.

@@gvrvvglwfor me the best, and with the best ergonomics and grip, is the BSP D6 despite having been partially surpassed by the D8 and D9.
But I repeat for me, above all for the ergonomics, to hold it in my hand for a long time with the phone placed, especially lying down, it is the one that performs best... in the sense that I never get tired of holding it in my hand while I play with it in bed or sitting for 2 hours straight.
Not to mention the abxy action keys which I consider superior in terms of feedback to all the other BSP, the back keys as well and the trigger keys (although unfortunately not analogue).
Let's say the only defects are that the analogs are too small and with little travel compared to the D8 and D9 and also precision, which however can be filled with the shootingplus v3 app by arranging and regulating the dead zones.
Perhaps only the D8 pro and the D10 will be able to beat it in ergonomics and hopefully also key feedback. Besides, the D6/D7 costs very little, around 20 euros or dollars, maximum 25, so it's also convenient.

@@tuen9222awesome man, it's always good to find something that works for you without having to pay crazy prices. I've had my d3 for nearly 2 years and although it's still going strong I've been thinking about getting one of the newer versions (thanks to nick's awesome reviews haha) in the future.
A good point you made is how long intervals the controller will be used for which can vary and that's when different preferences will come into play. My gaming sessions are fairly quick so I may not run into hand fatigue problems like the longer gamers will.
I'm still waiting for a slide out controller similar to the psp go or xperia play which would be my ideal setup. Most important thing is we get to play the games we want. Have a good one!

I agree. The purple one was just not my flavor. They definitely need to switch the usb-c connector to the left side. It would be a win-win. We’ll have to see what type-c controllers come out in the future and if they’re listening. I’m tempted to get a folding phone myself.

Do you know any control mappers for the LeadJoy M1C+ gamepad?
    Gamesir doesn't work on my Samsung S23 Ultra Android 14 UI 6.1. I can't download egg-3ds; Vlead doesn't work.
I don't know what to do.
I'm going to have to return the product because none of the mappers work.

@@OGTechNick Android both Bluetooth and wired mode is 2.8%. Test this out of the box and didn't update any firmware. From another youtuber stated that it has hall effect joysticks but its not advertised. The re-branded version of this is Memo S2 which is very identical however that is cheaper and has hall-effect joysticks.

Hello brother, I mostly plan to play on NINTENDO SWITCH, and the games are mostly demanding and generate temperatures, I would like you to recommend a joypad, I was thinking about the JK02 or if you have already tried the new D10S that comes with cooling, I would like to have your help. I'm subscribing right now, greetings.

    • @OGTechNick
      @OGTechNick  Před 2 měsíci

I would probably suggest the D10S but I haven’t tested it yet. I have the D10 (without cooling) here along with the D8 Pro and I’ll be doing an unboxing and review video for both soon. I can probably give you a better answer as to which cooling controller feels and works better as a game controller, but since it doesn’t have the fan I won’t be sure. I’m guessing it’ll be better though. Thanks a lot for the sub!

@@OGTechNick unfortunately I do not, I'm super cheap so I just have some crappy USB Amazon mics. Russ from retro game Corp just did a studio tour, maybe he has a mic recommend there.
