  • How to remove the front bumper cover on the Chevrolet Cruze. This should work on 2012 - 2014 models.
I'm disappointed at how flimsy the bumper is on the Cruze, especially the tabs that clip into the fender. Very easy to break those unless you use a couple of tools to carefully disengage the them.

Thank you! You did a very good job at explaining the steps. I tried to follow Spyder Auto's version however they missed a lot of steps. i.e. The clips on the side... you said told me they were there AND EXPLAINED how to unclip the bumper. however other videos on youtube did not even show me there were clips there. They just enscrewed the T15 screws and then just simply took off the bumper.

+Racing For Life You're welcome :) I've done many bumper cover removals and you normally do not need to mess with the clips - just pull on the cover. On this Cruze though, the bumper is made with some really shitty plastic and you run the risk of damaging it. Hopefully Chevy fixes it on the next generation.

So funny story, I was installing my foglights (hadn't done it before and I just followed the instructions) ended up not being able to do it properly because I couldn't get the bumper off without breaking it the tabs, I broke one tab on the driver side trying to figure it out (now I find this video) so I took it to the dealership, who managed to get the bumper off, but they broke all the tabs, all of them, getting the bumper off. So they replaced the bumper "free" of charge but dinged me for $500 for installation... It should have been a $230 job which is what I was quoted.

    • @happywrenching

You should just be able to replace your fog light bulbs by removing the front panel from underneath the car and twist the bulb out the same way you do with the headlights. There's really no need to remove the front bumper.

+Jessica Echague You can buy pre-painted aftermarket bumper off of eBay but the quality will not be as good as OEM. Another option is to buy a primed after-market bumper and then get it painted by a paint-shop of your choosing. Finally, there is always the dealer but be prepared to spend at least $500 - $1000 for a painted bumper.
