Today we play more Dome Keeper and in our third run I decide to just instantly jump to the hardest difficulty, while also playing on medium size for the first time AND testing out the Artillery Dome for the first time. Not saying these are worse than what we had (aside from the difficulty), but I don't know them meaning I also don't know how to properly deal with a larger map and the new Dome.

The fact that you barely upgraded your dome defenses and still won this round is incredible.
He seems to be pretty lucky. He mostly ignores offense as well. He basically goes for the bare minimum regarding defense and offense and focuses the grand majority of his resources on resource collecting.
@@thenonexistinghero When I say "defenses" I mean the main cannon upgrades. Probably should have thought that through, but I've been playing since before there were so many purely "defense" gadgets and supplements.
@@Glamador Well, both would be helpful. Focusing on gathering resources does not seem to be very efficient. Seems much better to just quickly upgrade a few and then focus mainly on firepower (and defense). And then invest a little bit into resource collecting potential every now and then.
The artillery dome is busted as hell due to its BIGG dmg + the “aa” cannon when turned into rockets is OVERPOWERD
The artillery dome is difficult to use, but in the hands of a seasoned gamer it's extraordinarily powerful.

Interesting strategy to not repair the dome and instead stress about how little life the dome has left. 🤔
The stress was rather based on if the auto-repair does indeed happen or not :p
@@DexTag just for clarity, one of the HUD upgrades is the one that gives the auto-repair. I think it's the resource counter, but check the game if it says so before "counting on it" XD
If you look at the dirt that you dig through, you can see that it has different colors. Those are the different layers and the dirt gets subsequently harder with each layer. There's one gadget for each layer (except the topmost one) and they're always switching left-right from your central shaft directly below your dome.
So if you leave your dome, dig straight down and find the first gadget on your left side - then you can find the next gadget easily if you keep digging down until the color of the dirt changes. The next gadget will then be on that layer, but on the right side of the central shaft and so on.
I love that because ur new to the game and haven't know all the game mechanics this run basically become accidental "can u beat dome keeper without healing" XD
Without manually healing because the dome was always auto healing thanks to the upgrade that tells you your resources and auto heals the dome if you have cibalt once your health is totally depleted
dex the yellow/green Square are iron in the game hence the iron worms dig it
btw the resources are iron , cobalt and water = Square , triangle and circle
also if u have uncovered a gadget or suplement or the relic u can puase the game a few sec and then u dont have to wait for the animation of it opening
this saves ingame time
4:25 I just wanted to point that one out. I saw speed- and challenge-runners do that.
You want to minimize the pieces you have tied to you, to maximize your speed as you shove the stuff through the horizontal tunnel.
- I think grabbing the Artifact instantly starts a "final wave" you have to survive. So maybe don't do that with a wave already running?
you don't have to survive it at all. The moment the Artifact arrives in the dome, you already won. The game just has that final wave to give it a cinematic ending were you can try to have fun with your fully upgraded dome... but even if you lose that fight, the artifact protects the dome and instakills all the enemies, still giving you the victory.
For placing the tree, I always try to find a spot that has all the different resources near the start and leave it untouched. I just dig around it to make sure all the tiles are connected and that there's enough room for the tree. That way, I can always check on the tree when I'm at the dome and easily collect resources. The tree's roots also grow where I want them to grow and I get a constant supply of cobalt, which is the most valuable resource in the later stages of the game - especially if you also have the resource converter.
as I was pretty annoyed by how to played your last game, I have to say that:

"there's gold.. oh, water" I mean... you're not wrong, the square resorce used to always be "gold" colored, but
The resources in this game are Iron (Square), Water (Circle), and Cobalt (Triangle) if you want to be technically correct, the best kind of correct. (This is also important because Menus refer to them by name a lot and not by symbol.)
Just promise me, someday you need to give the lift some justice
Automatic repair unlocks when you get the resource counter. Also heath bar unclocks when you get the first health upgrade
dex got the HP display upgrade and thought it was hp recovery...

Dex you can get upgrade to free "heath" bar, just clean challenges.
No matter how little you upgrade your offenses/defenses or how poor your upgrade priority, mining strategy, and generally everything is, you somehow still managed to beat the hardest difficulty.
Also, please stop calling the *iron* "gold".
Mans put all his stats into his Luck instead of attack and defense and still won. I'm sorry man but the difference between DF's gameplay and this is night and day

you should try the m1000 in deep rock dwarf game. with the extended mag, and big boy overclock, i had the new supply pack for 1%damage per missing health, massive crits. My base damage was in the 11k and could have been optimized

I love the dome keeper content, but the music isn't fitting at all :c would be awesome if it was something more atmospheric, it's definetly wayyyy too cheerful and kinda obnoxious

Royalty free/coypright free music doesn't really exist.
If you point out the piece/s you don't like then I can consider changing some, I look for new pieces all the time so then I can filter based on feedback. Though dont take this as a promise
@@DexTag it's not so much about what different music to play. domekeepers sounds are very atmospheric, why use any other music. i'm sure the devs won't mind since almost all other ccs' use the original sound track
@@piotrrashman6487 because once you do end up getting claimed (which happened to me) you face serious issues. In my case it was luckily not retroactively, but that's the best way to blow up a channel in a single move. There's a reason why most big creators do not use ingame music, unless they are very familiar with the dev. And even then it's a risk, as many devs dont buy the rights to the music, but the rights to use it
