I don't know why some show characters say that Gulbahar is like Halime.
They are different just see the backround of Halime, I mean I know she was toxic and brought a lot of problem to Dilruba and Mustafa but she was mistreat first horribly, she make mistakes and then she lost her son Mahmud. She don't want to suffer anymore so she would anything ( includign betrayal) for achieve her goal. She was clever but she was too still blind by hatred and revenge for conserve the power even if she gained it two times.

Gulbahar surpassed Halime in terms of cruelty, I think she's on par with Dilruba if not below her.

I've seen some are comparing her to Mahidevran(but there is once again no similarity).
