This makes a big difference in being able to feel the heat when sitting around it! The heat deflectors are pricey! Glad it was free and works great!

My deflector on the solo stove works very well. Makes using it during the cold months worth it. Just wish I would’ve done better research about where these campfire stoves are made. I would’ve bought an American made version instead of the Chinese version I currently have.

Yeah definitely will help out when it's really cold out so I won't have to hover over the fire. Thanks for watching 👍

awesome thanks for this, question though, what is the technical name of the deflector you have, what you referred to as a witches cap?

Thanks for watching! The technical name is heat deflector but unfortunately mine is a makeshift one that I found. Mine is actually meant to be a cap for a grease exhauste for a restaurant

Where did you get the top?

It was just a left over item from a job I was on. But they do sell things like it on Amazon. It's a heat deflector.

@@WhatTheHeckMan Do you know what that one is called or what it came off?

The one I used is called a witches cap. It's a cap to the top of an exhaust fan. It's a custom build but they made it the wrong size so lucky for me the sheet metal shop still gave it to us for free because stainless steel isn't cheap.

Great video! I think the official solo stove deflector is only 7 inches or so tall. I would think you want the heat to come out lower than 14 inches, especially if you’re sitting down. Just a thought….
