Crash On Alpine Slides Winter Park

- Some lady going WAY TOO SLOW on the fast side...I rear end my friend and fall off the sled while my friend behind me gets hit by someone else...I did manage to get back on the sled without too many burns...just left elbow and hand got small burns.
If you notice, this happened at the end of the run, just before he enters the "slow" area, as delineated by the red sides on the track. I suspect the lady in front slowed down (as she should have) upon entering the "slow" area...
+Susan Easterly ....the "red" zone is where you are to BEGIN braking. You aren't supposed to stop before that - you'll notice the red zone is very long for that purpose. When the video starts, the lady had already started down and we had an entire conversation about waiting for a while. We waited and that's when the video starts...then I waited for my friend to catch up. I don't think she knew about the fast vs slow side. Another problem is it's really hard to pull the brakes in a turn because of the G forces. I recorded a speeds over 30mph and the turns are very tight. The only reason my buddy in front (not shown) didn't hit her was because he saw her on a straight. By the time we got close, she was around the corner. That said...I knew what we were doing was dangerous and we all had a good laugh :)
I remember going down so fast down one time, that I was light headed, I have a few scars from the track lol. What I really like is going down with my son racing down so fast that the workers were like man you guys are crazy, good times can't wait to go back.

Left some skin off my elbow on the side doing this last year trying to keep up with a faster friend. Tried not to lean into the turns as they say, but I slid right off the sled and grinded into the side for a second and thankfully slid back on the sled and finished the ride. Wear long sleeves!

The older sleds were better they were so worn out, broken and were so slow to stop perfect for flying down the track.

+thowdy ....pause it at 2:25 and hit pause/play through 2:27. I was the guy with the cam on my head. I was completely off the sled and sliding on cement lol. The "bump" of the friend behind me wasn't the crash part.
+Stephen Horn okay, I saw it...at least you were at the end. I was on this same ride this summer and my 8 yr old daughter fell off her sled and I dumped mine to avoid hitting her. Three months later I still have the road rash scars. Shorts and tee shirt are not adequate clothing on this slide.

Dude, you're not supposed to crash into the rider in front of you. There "is" a brake on the sled,so you "can" stop.
Yep, but too many people are to dumb to get that. This is why I avoid things like roller coasters, because I don't want a brainless idiot to crash into myself.
