He uses his moment of singing as a way to get the ball rolling, then having Ruby takeover so he can formulate a plan, and then coming back in to subtly tell Ruby his plan while ending the song. …or maybe The Doctor decided he wanted to show the Master and the Toymaker weren’t just the only ones who could do spontaneous song and dance.
Love how Doctor Who will commit to the bit 100% whenever they decide to pay homage to something. Labyrinth style episode with child kidnap goblins? Make sure you include at least one musical number!! And they absolutely ROCKED it! ❤️

I think this is a good moment for the 15th Doctor. He plays along with the enemy of the day, keeps focus on the way to get out of danger, and the companion survives.

People are butt hurt that the dark, brooding, melodrama of Moffat's era is finally gone. We got rid of the lens flares and cinematic lighting, we got rid of The Doctor always looking sad and grumpy. We got the fun back!! Wahoo!!

I did not like his character in Sex Ed so I was pretty apprehensive when he was chosen as the Doctor. He’s great though. He’s already established as the Doctor in my mind. I’m getting 11 vibes from him but without the heavy weight of the years 11 had.

Although I did notice that while the character was as curious and eager for life as ever he was more thoughtful about things. I chalked it up to human and character growth but I suppose the other role he was involved in had some influence.

As can be told by my name I am indeed a long time fan of the Doctor. Back to the late 70's in fact when I was in high school. I really enjoyed this episode. Why wouldn't the Doctor join in the song as he is diverting the goblin's attention from what he is really up to? Plus he has that cool swagger that he does. And I have the same leather trench coat. Well I had it long before this. So if there is someone that needs it that want's to be the 15th Doctor it is theirs if they notify me. It's only right after all if he gets it from one of his older selves.
